Heh - Garrus lost in the "best sidekick" poll against HK-47. Guess he was in the middle of some calibrations. Or HK-47 is just better... yep, that must be it.

Anyway....

Another bit of headcanoning I do when I romance is to put off her LM until after Grunt's. Shep is usually a Sole Survivor. He is about as happy as you'd expect being stuck with Cerberus. But...Ash called him a traitor. Liara is distant. And now Wrex has forced him into reliving Akuze. Who saves him? Miranda. That causes him to reevaluate things. And then, he's taking special trips to Illium for her, and before you know it, there's cuddling.

That's a good one. My main Shepards are Sole Survivors, that makes a great deal of sense.

I usually put Grunt's LM late for purely metagaming reasons (missions without difficult persuasion situations go last) but since I'll cheat on that one anyway I might as well change the sequence in my replays.

Miranda's was actually the last LM I did the first (aborted) time through. It was on the same world as plot missions and I wasn't sure what might or might night trigger a point of no return and did Ilium as late as possible.

LOL. Just got a line from Miranda I've never heard before.

On entering the Derelict Reaper (deadpan): "This is not the most organized project I've ever seen". LOL. Indeed.

What squad slot does she need to be in?

I'm trying to find how does that sequence happens.

Hmmmm... I usually do Miri n Garrus' LMs first depending on how fast I get them...sometimes I do Jacob's or Mordin's in between though... I save Tali n Jack's for last( outside of Legion of course...since I do the reaper mission after LOSB and when you finish those that's effectively the point of no return since the crew gets taken away at that point.)...since those have some serious persuasion involed and I need to make I have as much renegade/paragon points as possible to pull them of9 though sometimes if I don't I just gibbed mod my points up to a sufficient level as well as make sure I picked the passive ability that effectively doubles your persuasion point total at max)...

This is with Miranda and Jack on the squad as you enter the Derelict Reaper. Miranda is on the right, if that makes a difference.

I've been trying to figure out what determines who says a generic line. Miranda never says "Sounds like a suicide mission" anymore.

I think the first person you pick for your squad starts the random banter. Then they assign one line to the second person somehere. Usually I find the first person i picked is the first to say something on a mission. This usually is the rule except on loyalty missions.

If you take Kasumi with you on the Hammerhead missions she never shuts the hell up. She talks almost as much as the Hammerhead VI.

Hmmm that is indeed a really nice pic, Ieldra. *downloaded as well*

Could it be that the squad member who initiates the banter is chosen at random on some of these missions? I ask because I usually play Miranda + 1, but I have the impression that the banter still varies quite a bit. Haven't tried to test it systematically, though.

The picture is from Jacob's LM, at Ronald Taylor's place.

As for Miranda's line at the Derelict Reaper, it doesn't depend on her position on the squad. I think there is a priority list for squadmates commenting or initiating a banter in every situation where something can be said. If Miranda is paired with Jacob she says nothing when entering but "This...is disconcerting" further into the corridor, if you pair her with Jack she says "This is not the most organized project I've ever seen" when entering but the comment further down the corridor is made by Jack: "Trapped in a Reaper. I want to shoot something.".

I wouldn't mind if something like that was alternate attire in ME3. I mean it's pretty combat efficient right?

I've also never gotten Miranda's comment about beating the prisoner on Purgatory. We need a "maximum banter" guide

I second this! Also, just about to do the SM...can someone remind me which slot you put Miranda in if you want Shep to save her after the platform falls? Please? I haven't seen it for a while and, since I'm finishing a Miranda LI playthough, I'm wanting to see him dive after her =]

I usually do that first after Mordin, and I usually take Jacob with me who appears to have a high banter priority. Have you tried Miranda and Mordin as your squad?

Good to see there are still reasons for yet another playthrough

I think she needs to be on the right. But the placement of squadmates when you start a mission or load a saved game is random. Your best bet is to rename the autosave on the platform before you start floating down to Mr.Terminator so that you have a permanent save there, and reload that until you have Miranda on the right. Then proceed.

One I'll likely never see is what she says for holding the line. She's very far down on the priority list.

Ah, thank you.

Also, there is always a reason for another playthrough  It's Mass Effect!

Not really. I'm getting well and truly sick of it. I just found my Kaidan and Ash saves, so have to do them in ME2. Plus the Shep I've talked about.

jtav, Ieldra, how do you roleplay your Sole Survivor Shepard? I find myself unable to play a SS Shepard in ME2.

Ok, that sounds right. A priority system would explain the variety I alluded to above, as I switch out the second squad member a lot.

I sort of like the idea of trying a playthrough where Miranda holds the line by herself, since that is apparently possible. But otherwise, yeah, I probably won't ever see that either.
