There's also counter-data in the form of EDI and the Thanix. The base can be studied like anything else and he will not throw away a weapon.

Well anything "intact" is bad news. If it's blown up with bits and pieces left like Sovereign then I'd probably use it. If it isn't...

I've also never gotten Miranda's comment about beating the prisoner on Purgatory. We need a "maximum banter" guide

I love that line. It really helps defining Miranda, IMO.

"Interrogation is sometimes necessary but this is just pointless cruelty."

And she sounds so angry too.Image IPB

I see your point, but Nate's desperate. If there is a chance Collector tech can be reverse engineered (and it's not automatically indoctrinating or they couldn't trade it) then he owes it to everyone to try since he's not going to be fighting. And if Cerberus ends up indoctrinated, well, it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch as long as Lazarus Cell is safe.

So there is a way in hell to RP it.

Who do I bring with Miri and I in order for Miri to say that? I mostly had Garrus with us.

Maybe, kasumi...since she also has overload( like Garrus n Miranda)...that attrack is really useful there against the blue suns...infact I'm gonna take her with me on that mission when I play as my canon renegon vanguard shep( that also means she gets 3 missions...counting Jacob's LM...).

I'm wondering if we can take that as an implicit acceptance of torture  as an interrogation method, at least in theory? Since she says "interrogation is sometimes necessary." Well, duh. Suspects are interrogated every day It sounds more like she means enhanced interrogation. She certainly is willing to do murky things. But sadism is a bridge to far. She despises needless cruelty percisely because she can be cruel when ut is needful in her view.

Yeah, that is a great line. And one that really helps to show where Miranda draws the line in these types of situations.

Well, like a lot of these lines, I think you can take it more than one way. At the very least, as you say, she despises needless cruelty. How much "useful" cruelty she would be willing to condone situationally is perhaps more of an open question.

I always bring Garrus and Miranda on that mission... Garrus does all the talking sadly.

I've tried it with all squadmates available at that point (including the DLCs), both on the left and on the right and Miranda never said that line.
I heard it on a youtube video where the uploader only had Miranda on his team so, I'm guessing a game editor is the only way of hearing it.

I think we have to grant her some tolerance and willingness to be cruel because of the control chip. And, well, saints don't become high-ranking Cerberus operatives . But we don't know exactly where she'd draw that line. I think she'd be more likely to object on the basis of inefficiency.

And wow, she's pissed.

Same. My Renegade run ended terribly. I'm also a nice person, and hate being a butt hole. I can't even take the tyrant pathways in Fable...

true, I always love to play good in Fable, bad is just not me.

I think it's true that the inefficiency and unreliability of torture as a method, combined with the cruelty, would likely be particularly distasteful for Miranda. So it makes sense that she mentions both types of objection at once.

Yeah. I hold torture as intrinsically immoral, but it also seems to not work that well. But the phrasing does seem to leave open the possibility for a less than blanket condemnation. I would have liked her darker side more explicit.

I love how Legion didn't comment on the morality, just that "data will be invalid"

That one is pretty funny as I recall, because you actually have the option to apologize to him afterwards Image IPB

"Sorry I roughed you up." LoL.

EDIT: Suddenly I'm not sure if you're referring to Mouse or the interrogation scene. (You can apologize to Mouse.)
