It's not just that. She's a talentented actress who can pull off being funny, smart or badass as the role requires. Her ability to breathe life into Miranda is just one example. For instance, I'm not attracted to some of the more 'hot' women in Hollywood because they're empty headed bimbos. If Yvonne was like that, I wouldn't find her very attractive.
I agree where Strahovski is concerned. I actually only learned about her via Mass Effect, but I've caught up on some Chuck since. And yeah, she is... wow. I guess I'll just leave it at that.

No, it's because I see a fair number of
people going nuts and it annoys me.. And I can usually at least notice
and acknowledge someone's appeal. Strahovski, eh, maybe it's a dislike
of girls next door or my dislike of Chuck in general and Sarah in
particular.
It's cool. You can be annoyed at those of us who find her rather dazzling, and we can be annoyed at you being annoyed. It's all good

How do you think Miranda would respond to the death of a romanced Shep or equivalent? Sudden, violent death. How long would she grieve? How?

Maybe you should ask yourself this question. How long would you grieve if you lost a best friend, parent, or lover from a violent death??? Probably a long time! You sure are obsessed with death, torture and pain.

It truth - it depends but how she would react - she would shut back down emotionally again. She herself does not deal with emotions very. So the sudden death of come on close to her - she push these feelings away and not really deal with em. Bury herself in work, things like that - after awhile it would be just too much. Really I look at Jack and Miranda at two ends of the spectrum. Jack acts out completely while Miranda shuts downs and goes in Icy Stocism.

Sounds pretty plausible, nite. Though I could see Miranda pursuing revenge with a passion, should the situation warrant it. A cold, determined passion, but relentless. Otherwise, in a situation where no one could really be held responsible, I could see stoicism being her outward disposition. Inside would be different, though.
Oh yeah inside she would be a emotional mess, no doubt about it.

Well, who isn't in such a situation. But not for long, if you ask me. She'd go back to work and after a time, her stoic disposition would cease to be a mask anymore. That's how these things work. Not that it would ever go away completely, but its influence would be decidedly low-key.nitefyre410 wrote...

No I used it the same way - the way it appeared in the interview. They were talking about a core group of characters "around which the story revolves", followed by the simple statement: "they are squad members". Period. Granted, it's not totally clear if Tali and Garrus will belong to that group. But given that we see Garrus in all the demos I think for him it's rather likely. So who we'll have in the core group for now are Ashley/Kaidan, Vega, Liara and Garrus.flemm wrote...
Yeah, but that is semantics. Ieldra used "core" in a different way than I originally did :happy:jtav wrote...
flemm, the core group and temps were separate items on the list.
Btw it's interesting to see that there is a gender imbalance in that group in favor of the male LIs if Vega will be an LI. If you discount the VS which can be either, it's 3:1 for femShep LIs to maleShep LIs. There's definitely space for Tali, Miranda and one newcomer, since I think that 3:4 is an acceptable imbalance. One more non-human, and we'd have eight, which is a DA2-sized group that worked rather well.

I do. She has an interesting face and she's athletic. I just think she's OT here as long as it's not Miranda-related.jtav wrote...
I just don't get Strahovski's attractiveness.
Having said that, I don't mind the occasional picture as long as it isn't quoted a half-dozen times with three heart smilies added by every quoter. Actually, things have been pretty balanced here lately compared to the early days of the first thread.

Personally, I lost a very close friend about 5 years ago and I haven't completely gotten over it. Sure I dont think about it everyday but whenever I talk to her mother or sister I cant help but get a little teary eyed. I know I will never be able to forget the pain in the days after and nor should I, hell typing this brings back some bad memories. This is just my experience though and I dont know how your character died or how miri would react, I think its probably a little different for everybody. Hope that helps.

Right, which isn't the way I was using it
By "core" I just meant the ones that join you early and vary the least (partly because they cannot be dead). Yes, they will likely also have important plot roles, but the same would likely be true of characters like Tali and Legion. Their role would just be more focused on a particular crisis. And they would be squad members. So the difference is that I am interpreting Hudson's original statement to include everyone who can be recruited to join the squad (which I think is probably what he meant).
The other characters who have more than cameos would accompany you for a certain mission or set of missions while not actually being recruitable.

The amount of unique squad abilities in the game suggested a total of 10 squad members, so really 9 slots, given the way the VS works.
If I had to guess right now, I would say:
2 new: Vega, Aria
2 ME1: Liara, VS
2 constant: Garrus, Tali
2 ME2: Miranda, Legion
+1 "surprise," like Legion was in ME2, so maybe a Prothean as #9.

I doubt we'd get too many 'new' character's personally, short of 'not really all that important' type characters (aka; Redshirts?).
There is no need - they have not developed the ones they have yet...two or three major newbies is abou the most we need.

I hope it's not Prothean, it would be too ''obvious'' and I am sure it's used many times before.. Maybe not in exactly the same way, but still. And the Prothean would be cut to pieces for study by Mordian and Miri, before it could have the chance to speak anyhow.
I don't think it will be a Prothean as live one but I do think we are going to back the Prothean home world. Everything by the end is going to come full circle so I see the ending and climax taking place on the Prothean homeworld in some shape or form

I would feel pretty much the same about a one-mission temporary appearance as I would about a cameo. Definitely pulling a Vega anyway in that scenario: ZZSSAT!
