Granted. I think Enyala called out Miranda because Miranda is the one screwing with her plan personally.flemm wrote...

I address that above. Same is true of a lot of the other ME outfits, i.e Jack's and Samara's. Even more so, tbh.

I hope we get to see her father in ME3. I was kind of disappointed we didn't get to confront him in ME2.

Bingo. That doesn't make her point of view valid, though, which is more what I was addressing. It's not a perspective we should internalize or accept.
It makes sense that she would say it, however. On that point I agree. It's smack talk, basically.

Perhaps you didn't get where I was coming from with my comment. There are outfits that make you look seductive, and outfits that just make you look available. It's not usually a question of being more or less revealing, but a matter of style. Usually, the more attention is drawn to a woman's secondary sexual characteristics, as opposed to her figure as a whole, the cheaper it looks and the more it makes her look available. That's the reason why the white catsuit looks OK on the Redemption #4 cover but not in the game. Miranda could appear in a bikini and - realism aside - it wouldn't look as bad as the catsuit.flemm wrote...
I'm going to elaborate a bit here because, hey, that's what threads are for
And I'm going to take the scene at the end of Miranda's loyalty mission as an example, because I have seen it brought up before in this thread. The asari mercenary says something about how she's waiting for Miranda to finish getting dressed and how she can't believe Cerberus lets her **** around in that outfit or whatever. So, does the asari have a point? Not really imo.
Change the context to the university where I spend most of my time. Let's say a woman walks into a room wearing a tight/revealing outfit (which happens all the time, of course), and somebody says, wow, I can't believe you're whoring around in that outfit! Would that person have a point? Nope. That person would probably get laughed out of the room tbh. Such a dated attitude.
Asari biatch gets the ME equivalent, a biotic bodyslam from Miranda. Exactly what she deserves.
Difference is Miranda is engaging in all these firefights in a sexy outfit, which is, of course, not realistic. So there I am a bit more sympathetic. Though pretty much nobody in ME wears a remotely realistic outfit from that point of view. So whatever.
By the way, the armor looks hawt as well
Of course there's some YMMV involved here, and the camera angles don't help.

To be honest, it feels like she lost a bet with someone that somehow obligated her to wear the thing indefinitely.jtav wrote...
At the risk of prolonging this, my ultimate complaint about the catsuit is that I feel BW gave her the outfit for the purpose of titillation, not because it fit the character. Her outfits don't feel integrated into the rest of her. I'd expect more comments, more sexual aggression.

I think I did. Where I disagree is the idea that the style of a woman's clothes can in any way indicate the degree to which she is available. That perspective does exist in the world, yes, but it is dated and sexist. And, as far as my everyday experience is concerned, woman are just as likely (or unlikely) to wear revealing clothes whether they are available or not.
I'm not suggesting that you should like the catsuit, by the way. That is a different story. It may or may not appear sexy to a certain individual, that is personal taste. And perfectly valid imo. But your assertion that the catsuit is inherently problematic because it makes her look "available," rather than sexy... That I disagree with.

Well, you could say that she uses it to get an edge on the male simpletons, but even so itf that were the situation it'd be something she wears once in a while rather than continuously.
I conclude:
TIM told gave it to her and told her it was a sophisticated piece of equipment. Though not what for.

It's not so much that it broadcasts how available she is, which it doesn't, but that it'll evoke the idea that it should, regardless of how dated and sexist it is. Obviously she'd realize this, so the only way it would make sense is if she somehow turned it into a weapon of sorts, something she doesn't seem to have done. As otherwise I can only see it being a hindrance.I think I did. Where I disagree is the idea that the style of a woman's clothes can in any way indicate the degree to which she is available. Not a problem. When you encounter a dated and sexist perspective, you bodyslam that person with your biotics

Supposedly, she was meant to be a "femme fatale" but like Jacob's supposed "stabilization element" it simply doesn't exist in the game.

Elements of the character were inspired by the femme fatale archetype (and are in the game), but that doesn't suggest that the character should behave primarily as a femme fatale normally does, as far as her character arc is concerned, etc. It's a source of inspiration and shouldn't really function as a straight-jacket imo. In other words, Miranda is Miranda. You're always going to start with some sort of model or mold, but the whole point, really, is for the individual character to rise above that and gain independance from the archetype.
