Truth be told, I'm not very confortable with the idea of Miranda being one of the rotating squadmates. Squadmate status is not a guarantee of relevant screentime for her.
Arguably, Liara had a much more satisfying role than Tali in ME2 and all she had was one mission.

I think there's a chance. I just don't think the squad structure will be very complicated. There's a chance, but I think it boils down to who gets the non-VS human female slot.

And if I seem like a traitor, I can only get so upset when my other favorites are among those confirmed. It's basically a question of how much, not whether, I'll enjoy the game.

No, that's true. But there would likely be a mission or two where she plays an important role in a non-optional sort of way (unless she's dead). Same with Tali, for example, when dealing with the Quarians. Group 2 would be like Group 3 + lots more screen time, if the player so desires, in a sense.

technicaly speaking, 2 missions(one on Illium and one at the SB base.) but I agree with you.

Anyway, yes, that has been discussed and you are missing some context. Mac Walters had previously said that a fan favorite was doing voice recording at that exact moment. 
Then fpsanalyst said he hoped it was Yvonne voicing Miranda to which Mac Walters answered that it was not her. 
But thank you for bringing this to our attention.

In my opinion, Miranda is an ignorant, arrogant, annoying character, and is nothing like Ashley. I can understand why someone would like her, though.

Nobody no Joker. What I'm saying is replacing Yvonne Strahovski would be the same thing. It's just really bad. Same with Micheal Beattie as Mordin, and Martin Sheen as Illusive Man. All three stole the show IMO.

In general, I think she would be more concerned about it affecting the mission than anything else, really. Apart from that, it would probrably be largely dependant on how Shepard and Miranda get along in the first place.

Part of what I like about Miranda involves her being focused on the mission, so the romance and it's execution are unattractive to me. I prefer her as a friend or associate that Shepard appreciates.

I agree yet disagree. I'm biased though. But I do have an Alt Shep that made her his full fledged right hand (no romance). She fits the part pretty well. It's what she's there for anyways other than keeping tabs.
