Would it feel odd to be playing as someone you're attracted to at all? I'm really curious.

Odd? No. Hard to focus? Yes.
I would play with the camera angles so much it would probrably start feeling like a photo shoot session.

I know there are some rumors about Multiplayer in ME3, I don't like the idea, but if it's true I wonder if we will able to play with famous characters like Miranda.

I really can't answer that question because I'm not attracted to her, but I would love to play as Miranda.

Bioware confirmed that ME will not feature Multiplayer.

"On the BioWare forums, moderator Pacifen may have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 won't have a multiplayer mode as previously rumored. In closing a thread, she wrote: "Now that Mass Effect 3 has been officially announced, I return to the age-old response to this topic: Mass Effect 3 is a single-player game. Thank you."

I thought Casey already squashed this rumor, although I may be incorrect is assuming this.  I could have sworn Phadeon has this listed as N/A in the confirmed info thread.

Yeah I know, but it could be like the "Kinect" : they don't want to confirm the feature before it's officially announced.
Anyway, I didn't want to start a multiplayer debate, we were talking about playing as Miranda ;)

If there was multiplayer that would have been announced already (E3). Instead it was Kinect support

I think it would be somewhat akward to play as Miri.  When I play Mass Effect I really see the world through Shep's eyes.  I try to stay in that perspective the whole time I am playing because it helps me enjoy the narrative more.  Playing as a different character wouldn't seem right to me, but I would never dismiss it out of hand because someone else might like playing through her.  As long as she romances Shepard its all good.  ;)

Sorry, off topic, but I just joined this thread, and I would like to post my opinions:

Suggested topics for discussion:

1. Temporary squadmate, permanent, or cameo? What do you want? What do you predict?
2. How has Miranda spent the time between games?
3. How might she affect the Cerberus plot?
4. What will the romance look like?

As for what do I want, I would want Miranda to be a very important character, help us destroy the Cerberus we know in ME and ME2, take their funds, start her own interplanetray organization, come to peace with her origins, I also want her infertility to be cured, but i DO NOT want her to be a mother. If romanced, i do not want her and Shepard to live a normal, peacefull life.

If you think about it, it makes sense for her to be an important character, for:
a) she is extremly hard to kill in th SM
B) A lot of players use her in combat beucause she has overload AND warp
c) a lot of players romanced her
d) she was a very important part of ME2, ME3 and i belive (i may be wrong) that ME3 starts only couple of months after ME2
e) Cerberus is our enemy, and she is perfect for the job that is taking Cerberus down from the inside

Even with all those arguments in favour of her being really important, Istill doubt it. The lack of news is disturbing.

9 months until the release, I think there are other things to announce.
But I doubt there will be MP.

I'd definitely like to play as Miri. Not in a game similar to Mass Effect though, maybe in a more stealth-oriented game with Miri flying solo. Seems like her style.

This is an interesting angle that I have thought of a lot over the past couple of days.  She might not be a full time squad member, at least early in the game because she could be playing a double agent working to take down Cereberus internally.  If anyone could pull that off if would be Miranda.

As to your other points I am with you 100%!

Please BW, drop us a hint or something...

I would like to see her taking down Cerberus from the inside. As long as I can have her back on the Normandy as a permanent squadmate, when I join her and until the end of the game. And I hope we will able to join her before the middle of the game, I want Miri to have a significant screen time.

Taking down Cerberus mission could be the "Horizon" mission of ME3.

As for playing as Miranda, I wouldn't mind, although Mass Effect series is oriented around Shepard.

Here's something I want to know: I heard news (which may or may not be correct) that BioWare will publish a Mass Effect based MMORPG, timeline being after the ending of ME3. If that is the case, would you like Miranda to be a character in that game?

Personally, I would, and if Miranda can start her own Interplanetary organization during ME3, it would be very interesting to see how is that buisniss going. Maybe she can be a quest giver, or we could even work for her organization.

Anyway, what do you think?

If you could pick, wouldn't you rather have Miranda doing something REALLY important during ME3 that will help you (such as taking Cerberus down) and her not being a fulltime squadmate, but joining you on certain missions, and ofcourse the final missions, then have her on board the Normandy, as a full squadmate, a.k.a a typicall grunt that you take with you on missions to shoot some bad guys? I mean, if she is a full squadmate in ME3, she will most certenly not be the XO of the Normandy.

I'm not sure it would be a good idea.
Personally, I prefer to imagine my own story after the events of ME3.

Anyway, I don't believe Bioware would make an another MMORPG if SWTOR is online. Maybe in 5 or 6 years ... but I think they will use an another game gender for the Mass Effect franchise.

I'm kinda divided concerning what I want from Miranda in ME3. I want her as a full time squadmate, but at the same her as an antagonist and a final confrontation with her a like the one with Bastila in KoTOR  would be amazing and epic.

I prefer her as a temporary squad member with her doing something important. I can fill in the gaps. I enjoy filling in the gaps. And her being important on the galactic stage makes her even more suited to be Shepard's LI than she already is. Provided she did still get a fair bit of dialogue.

But let's pretend she is permanent. Would you support her being available as a romance option, even if you didn't romance her in ME2?

Read my post again, she could take down Cerberus AND be a permanent squadmate. Permanent squadmate doesn't mean she has to be on the Normandy 100% of the time, but once you recruit her she stays.
She could do her own "important" thing during the first part of the game, and we could join her to finish the job. After, she stays on the Normandy as the XO, and I don't care if the Alliance doesn't agree (we should be able to roleplay against the Alliance so I guess this could be an opportunity). And she helps Shepard to defeat the reapers (which I think is the most IMPORTANT thing).

But if I have to choose between her permanent squadmate status and the fact that she could take down Cerberus, I would choose her squadmate status, for the reasons I already posted :

Yannkee wrote...

I want her back as a full time squadmate because I want :

- interactions
- many conversations
- a significant screen time
- to continue the romance
- my favorite badass squadmate at my side during missions
- party banters
- my XO back
- character development

Because I want my favorite character at my side during the last chapter of the series, after that we won't see her again.

No, just like Liara wasn't available for romance in Lair.
It's unfair for those who want an S/S option but, as much as I hope Miranda will be romanceable for those who choose the "Damn, you're rigth" option,  I doubt Bioware would bother writing two different versions and I don't want Miranda's romance to be generic.

I have to agree with Yannkee, I really want Miranda as a permanent squadmate. For the same reasons listed.
