Well, that was obviously a conscious choice. Coupled with early dev comments about playing the ME1 and ME2 romance interests off one another in ME3, I think that is another strong suggestion that Ashley/Miranda was the plan, at least at one stage of development (these things can change).

With Ashley/Miranda you really get a microcosm of ME1 versus ME2, not just, or even mainly, from a romantic point of view: it's the whole Alliance/Cerberus tension as well.

What that would mean for Miranda's appearance... I'm not sure. Maybe some sort of redesign. Or maybe certain visual similarities to better underline the rivalry/philosophical differences.

she is not that appealing to me. she is an interesting character, but I imagine she will be the leader of the terminous than be a squadmate, but anything is possible.

I'd say it means a redesign. I should be able to tell at a glace which squadmate I'm looking at, though color schemes may be helpful here. Ash mostly in blue or pink/red and white. Miranda is black, white and gold.

Color schemes at least would certainly contrast, I tend to agree, in order to mark the differing goals/allegiances.

If she's been tortured or something, Miranda could be somewhat disfigured as well, though probably not horribly so. It would underscore the Archangel parallel. And be somewhat of an interesting choice where Miranda is concerned.

Something ME3 related is happening in a few days:

Today was a EA Vegas presentation which had the GM from Bioware talking about ME3
Unfortunately they had an embargo on what was shown...but this part here caught my eye:

"Unfortunately the ME3 presentation is also under embargo so we won’t be able to share the news being announced here at the Vegas Game Show. Sorry folks!"

"I’ll give you a hint … its big news that a lot of you have been eagerly awaiting. Check back in a few days for more on this exciting announcement."

At any rate, I think it's more likely to be a new feature than a character. Though you never know, I guess. The new squad system might be a possibility, and that feature might give us some new info, directly or indirectly.

Could be something like Vega's VA, too, since he has been touted as a big deal for a while now.

nobody is not going to really care on who is Vega's VA, what people do care is who will be on the squad.

Well, depends on who the VA is, really. If it's somebody really well-known, it could potentially mean a lot of good publicity for the game.
As far as what I would personally prefer, squad reveals would definitely be up there

Unless it's some Hollywood upstart. Another big name VA would be good enough to keep PR rolling for a month or so. If it's multiplayer I'll disown BioWare... not that I own them in the first place.

Statham, I'm skeptical. Ackles maybe. He has experience in VAing. Did a couple of movies for DC Comics I think.

Jensen Ackles would be cool( I watch supernatural, good show), but come on, do it in November or December. Right now people really want to know who will be in the squad, who will be full time, who will be part time, or just one mission or cameo.

True, but keeping fans on edge about this kind of thing is part of what builds anticipation for the game. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather just find out and be done with it. But that is the nature of the tease. Not gonna rule anything out, but a comprehensive squad reveal strikes me as fairly unlikely at this point, I tend to agree with jtav there.

Anyway, new info is good, generally speaking, and it should be fun to talk it over and/or fry our brains about what it all means

Heh, I do love that motivational. By the way, just got a chance to watch Yannkee's Miranda fan vid/trailer. Very nice, I recommend checking it out if you haven't. I suppose it was posted somewhere earlier in the thread, before I jumped in.
