Where can you see that? Because I just tried it and Liara didn't mention Miranda.

It would surprise me a bit if it were flagged, since that dialogue option seems like it would just drop the player back to what the default relationship would be in a non-imported ME3 game (friends, but not romantically involved). It would still be another nice roleplay option, though.

Anyway, interested in hearing more about the details.

It appeared first on page 117 of the first Miranda thread. But I've put it into my blog so that it doesn't get lost. I tried to put this on FFN but they always cut the long words - you'll see what I mean when you get to it - and I couldn't find a way around that.

They cut the long words because of the triple exclamation marks. FFN is stupidly finicky about that. !? is fine but !?! is not. Also they don't accept a period inbetween two letters so for instance you can't write 'Mk.IIb Typhoon', instead it cuts off the IIb.

A little editing on your part should make the words acceptable, though I wonder about whether it would accept any leading exclamation marks at all.

That's pretty awesome, by the way, Ieldra. Here's hoping somebody at Bioware reads it/has read it.

In many respects, text is a much better format for this sort of thing, because the focus can be on thoughts and impressions, without the characters necessarily needing to vocalize them. Just a thought I had in passing, after reading that, and following the discussion of the engine room scene.

Thanks :)

And you're right. Things like this are hard to show in a visual medium. I tried to envision it at some time as a jumble of images and sounds. But strangely, the connection between the written word and what I tried to express is more direct than any image and sound could convey. Thane's flashbacks would have worked as images, but then the things he recalls were real scenes, less...abstract.

@Athayniel
I tried different things. FFN doesn't like words that long, apparently, *and* it doesn't like most leading marks.

It is apparently possible to get Miranda in her black catsuit and armor as soon as Freedom's Progress. I'll let you know as soon as I figure out how.

To do the sort of thing you do in that piece, Ieldra, in the actual game, I guess Bioware would have to get a lot more impressionistic and ambitious with the visuals, combined with some creative dialogue. I'd enjoy that, but I don't really see it happening, the realities of game development being what they are.

Closest thing in the game, as you mention, is probably Thane's flashbacks... Not sure that even those are super successful, though.

Does her armor remind anyone else of Kaidan's Spectre armor?

A little, though it's a pretty broad ressemblance. Do love that armor, though. And that visor! The visor really does it for me, for whatever reason.

It looks pretty good, and I like the style. Though there are some conversations where I'd rather see her eyes. The scene with Oriana comes to mind, especially since you can't switch outfits before it comes up. I'm looking forward to that helmet switch they've promised for ME3.

Well, it's sleek. She looks like a graceful, gorgeous death machine.

I'm starting to go crazy. More ME3 dreams. And I'm *gulp* worrying about my maleShep. I've taken away almost every everything that isn't Miranda from him. Hope it works out for him.

Nothing tangible, really. It's just a sort of recognition that the thread is interesting. I usually don't pay attention to such things, but apparently others do.

Many thanks to you Ieldra2^_^

Quick poll of the peanut gallery? Are you guys willing to risk the romance confrontation? I'm only willing to romance Miranda once, and this guy would logically be all over Ash in ME1. I can't decide whether it's better for her to die or call him a traitor.

Yeah, that might be it, now that you mention it Image IPB

Where the visor specifically is concerned, I think it's partly that it really fits my vision of her combat style as very tactical, efficient and precise.

I'd love a visor option in ME3 + sniper rifle as part of her loadout.

Risk it? I'm looking forward to it Image IPB

Though I'll be importing a few different Miranda-mances in all likelihood (unless the game just doesn't work for me). If there are any real fireworks, I'll have to go back and do an Ashley romance in ME1, something which I haven't actually done yet.

I'd expect the main Ashley-Miranda tension to be Alliance-Cerberus related, though, and therefore be romance-independant.

If you're only going to romance Miranda once, I'd rather leave Ashley on Virmire. Also, a tragic romance in the past isn't too bad for a character.

Wow, that is a really awesome image, by the way. Hawt. I'd only just glanced at it earlier because I was in the middle of something else.

My main concern with any conflict is that the writers are rubbing their hands with glee going "CATFIGHT!!!"

Shouldn't your main concern be that if she'll even return to Mass Effect 3..? Sure, it seems highly unlikely that she won't return, as she had a Plot-Armor all the way trough Mass Effect 2, and was one of the main figures of the game..

Yet, we know nothing about it.. For all we know, she could make a 2 minutes cameo, or send a very pretty E-Mail. Haha. Yvonne recording four lines of dialogue trough the phone from the Chuck movie set.

Now that should be your worries at this stage, given we know nothing of her.

One dev said he had to review several Miranda scenes, another that she would have a big role.
I'm not worried.
