She'll be back. My main concern in general is that I'll wish she wasn't.

Oh? Can you provide a link? My statement was more inclined towards a question, as Miranda apart from Mordin, are my favorite characters.

Edit -- What makes you worried? The writters have changed?

Quick poll of the peanut gallery? Are you guys willing to risk the romance confrontation? I'm only willing to romance Miranda once, and this guy would logically be all over Ash in ME1. I can't decide whether it's better for her to die or call him a traitor.

Do it, its worth it just to see what happens. If you don't like the outcome of what happens odds are there will be a save editior for ME2 at some point where you can create a different set of flags where the comfrontation doesn't come up.

If I only had one playthrough, I wouldn't risk it. I'd say the chances of another Miranda vs Jack only this time with Shepard as prize and fulcral point are more likely than anything good, really.

Right.

Scroll down to the 25th of July. As for the second one, if I'm not mistaken, it was only said to Ieldra in person.

Ten minutes, one hour, three days, it doesn't matter. Entering the engine room reminds you of who has been abducted by the Collectors, and that should kill the mood for any make-out. That's my main gripe with the scene.

My earliest hypothesis about this was that this is the result of fragmented developing. The writers set the location of the scene but for whatever reason whoever made the decision was unaware of the crew abduction - or insensitive enough to not see the implications. The same, btw, resulted in the area basically being open to anyone's observation. At the time when the scene was designed, it had not yet been decided that the SR2 would have so many transparent walls.

As for why the *characters* selected the engine room scene, I like the hypothesis that it's neutral ground for both of them, and that Miranda might like sex in unusual places.

i'm shocked that so many people cite that as an issue with the engine room scene. Not once in all 4 of my Shep's (so far) did I think "ugh, the engine room. weren't Ken and Gabby just there?" not once. All I was thinking is "oh, miranda made an executive decision, and that's that". of course, I already knew there was a sex scene coming to me but not like that.....

totally agree with the development issue tho. i mean, they only have 100 people making this game, at wut point does someone pipe up "hey, there's a window in Mordin's Lab right over the Shep/Miranda sex scene"

I kno, i tried but that could also be due to our camera angle.....it's a third person shooter, not first ;)

are our squadmates going to get new weapon specialties? too many of them had "submachine and heavy pistols" and i hated that, i'd love to get Miranda an assault rifle or Garrus a shotgun. His file says "if it can be fired,he can use it"

Well, I believe weapon limitations are being removed for the various player classes. And each squad member will have a "unique loadout." That's all the relevant information that I know of. But it does suggest that squad members will have a more varied weapon selection.

Also, I think it has been mentioned that there will be some weapon customization via the workbench, and that squad members' weapons can be modified this way.

so, yea, that's how i feel about that....

i have a feeling the devs are gonna VS our LI (if it's not Liare or the VS) and make us wait until some mid point mission before we get to see them again....::sigh::

Don't mean to one-up MisterJB but this is all we know of so far related to Miranda for ME3:

"Miranda needs to be back, has unfinished business with Shepard and more so if romanced":
Starting @29:36:
www.ea.com/gamescom/mass-effect-3-live-broadcast

Mac Walters was at this point reviewing multiple Miranda scenes:
twitter.com/#!/macwalterslives/status/95579046506795008
I can safely say, it is not. Sorry. But I can tell you I have several Miranda scenes to review when I get back!

And our own Ieldra2 went to Gamescom closed door Q&A:

No, actually it will be the same as ME2 for squadmates:

Wasn't there some tweet somewhere about each squad member having a unique loadout, though? Meaning more variety among the weapons available to them? Maybe I am misremembering or misreading that.

Only thing that comes close to that is that squadmates will be able to use special weapons like the revenant (Vega & Garrus)

twitter.com/#!/PWatamaniuk/status/92244563829342208
"Garrus, and James with Revenants is devastating. You need to manage them but they make bad guys go away with vigor."

EDIT: Actually that was about the guns in general, something along the lines of shotguns not all being the same, that each would be unique from one another...I don't remember who said it though...

Probably. And honestly, it's the least of my concerns. But I do like the idea of sniper rifle/SMG Image IPB

@Vertigo, thanks for the fact-checking/clarification.

Could we maybe clear up if the "Damn it, you're right" response still generates some romance data to be carried over into ME3?

My dissatisfaction with the romance had me looking for alternatives, and thanks to you guys I decided on going with that response when I do my final ME2 run for ME3. I would probably go ahead and do it even if it doesn't carry anything over into ME3, but knowing it does would make me that much more excited for the game.

If the EA blogger @ the Vegas event is correct then the info embargo ends tomorrow ("this week for sure!") so if not tomorrow then maybe next week?

Hudson did an interview for a future Bioware Pulse Episode...and considering there was a Dragon Age one today...

To be truthful, I'm so used to not getting news at this point, I have a hard time envisioning what actually getting some news would be like... LoL.

Something concrete to discuss?!?!

It would almost be... too easy Image IPB

Something concrete to discuss..? Well, why Miranda switched her allegiance so abruptly, from Cerberus to Shepard in the Suicide Mission ( Regarding Collector Base ) I mean, I would had guess that such a change would happen gradually, but there is never hinted... Confused? :(

( And no, I love how Miranda choose Shepard over Cerberus, I thought it was the best moment in the game.. But I expected atleast a few lines once we all survived, to justify her decision. Just one-two sentences should had been enough. )

Hmmm... I seem to recall that some people who post here MAY have an opinion on this... maybe.

But Vertigo will tell you for sure Image IPB

I wanted some more dialogue too on that issue from her.
I can see it happening if we chose to have her accompany us during the biotic bubble stage (either as a squad mate or as the actual biotic user)

Prime squad banter right there IMO...

Also I asked Mac Walters about it and he said:

twitter.com/#!/macwalterslives/status/115143071670345729
"Extreme situations sometimes call for extreme actions. Just ask Commander Shepard..."
