Of course! As predictable as the ebb and flow of the tides, every 50-75 pages or so.

Nice avatar, as usual Image IPB

And it's not like the devs have been showering us with new info. Miranda has actually been overshadowed for me by Origin and multiplayer.

We don't have new information about that either, jtav. Just rumors.

Sometimes, that's all you need to get this whole community up in an uproar...though I think it's a bunch of BS myself and until a dev says otherwise...that's how I"m taking it.

Well, if there's nothing new to discuss, that doesn't mean that old topics should be beaten to death dozen times over. The thread won't vanish anywhere, if it's inactive for awhile, bringing up topics that split the fanbase in half serve no real purpose, other than to just rekindle the whole flamewar all over again.

Well, it can be difficult to discuss controversial topics without flaming one another. But it's not impossible. I think we can get there.

My goal is to get to that place Image IPB

True, but DRM scares me a lot more than what they'll do to Miranda.

We need something solid with her.

And this discussion has been civil and enlightening. No one is forced to participate, but neither should people feel the need to stay quiet. I've refined my beliefs considerably over the last few days.

flemm, the problem with your argument is that she doesn't say that. What she says is a blanket statement about using the tech that's fairly unambiguous.

On the "blanket statement" point, I don't find that perspective entirely convincing because what we are getting is a snippet of a larger exchange with TIM. I'd like to have been there for the rest of it, but the way the game is designed doesn't really allow for that. Certain things can be assumed to have already been discussed, such as how TIM wants to use the base, and why.

The opposite is true. Neither Miranda nor Shepard knew a few seconds before that TIM wanted to keep the base. They didn't even know there was a way to kill the Collectors and keep the station intact. We do, in fact, hear all of the conversation, and because of that there is no additional context to add to that statement beyond that we already know.

So, if this is a conversation about whether the line can be reconciled with what we know about Miranda, I think the answer is yes, imo.

I disagree most strongly. I have seen no convincing attempt so far. You tried, but plainly I think you twisted the meaning of words beyond all recognition.

If we
are talking more to any ME3 writers who might be reading this thread, or who might get wind of these discussions, then I'm cool with sending the message that Miranda should have a coherent thought-process motivating her decision that we hear more about in the next game. Two different questins, really.

Actually, I would've been less annoyed had there been no justification at all instead of the one she gave. Then I could've used my imagination to provide a justification that makes sense. Instead I'm stuck with one that doesn't make any sense and is thoroughly un-Miranda-like.

But yes, an explanation that does make sense would have been hugely preferable.

And thanks for the picture. Some things never get old. :)

I tend ot think of indoctrination such as it was described in ME1.  It is an itching - a scratching that becomes louder over time in the base of your skull.  Much like being in the Reaper, I am sure that Miranda and Shepard felt it - just like Shep did with Object Rho in Arrival.

That feeling may have been hard to describe for Miranda, but she knew that people should not be in the Collector base.  At some point you have to realise that this thing - that feeling - is back, and you have to get your mission done and get the heck out before its too late.

She may also have had her eyes opened to the fact that TIM is a ruthless horrible person, who will stop at nothing to get full control of the human population and go to war with the rest of the galaxy.  He tried to use fear and a sudden spur of the moment reasoning to control her and Shep - and our highly intelligent love (Miranda) can see right through ploys like this.

Just found this tweet by Mac Walters:

"...we've worked very hard in #ME3 to ensure that the buddy path for each relationship is equally fun, enjoyable & accessible."

Looking forward to my femSheps' friendship with Miranda in ME3.

As I saw it, Miranda went through a actual character arch in ME. In the beginning she is highly sceptical about Shepard's ability ability to make a difference. She helps him because she is under orders against her better judgement. But gradually, as the results keeps coming in, her mood change to approval then admiration.
At the last, when she has to chose between Tim and Shepard. It's a choice between which character is better suited to lead the war against the reapers.
Miranda joined Cerberus because she thought it was the best way to protect humanity and left it because Shepard's success pushed Cerberus down on the list. Her actual objective haven't changed.

Already seen it. Decent friendship dialogue at last? It depresses me talking to her as fShep, leaving her beating herself up.

Patience folks, this week we get some new info in general with a new Bioware Pulse episode on Thursday.
Next week is New York Comic Con ( and I still wish I could go )
Following week we should be hearing from Xbox World on that 'feature'...

And anywhere in the middle should be when the embargo gets lifted on that new ME3 info.
But I can't say if it's anything involving Miranda because I can't see into the future =P
Just have to wait!

Huzzah! \\o/

I absolutely _hated_ not being able to talk to Tali while I was in relationship with Miranda. I love all of my crew - in one way or another - and I really didn't like it how after a while people would talk to you only during romance subplot. Bleh.

Like yourself, I think I will really enjoy my developed relationship with Miranda, as they're both very strong women. She truly was always my second-in-command, not because the game said so, but because I said so. :)

So, good news, thanks for sharing!

Probably only available for Miranda if she is on the squad, I would think. Same as a new romance. Otherwise not enough time for a relationship "path." But I will be excited about it if it is there.

I tell them something guys, in ME1 you could dance with a member of the squadron but in ME2 already you can not. It is a shame because I would have liked to see dancing Miranda.

Do people really think the visor is that awesome,i think it's the least of her appearences.

The following doesn't have to do much with Miranda  but i thought it was pretty epic non the least:

2 million sold in the first day. Another 7 million by the end of the first week. Every storefront annihilated, all of our employees on the run. Regrouping... Somewhere. Reports are coming in from other major retail chains. It's a well coordinated shopping spree and so far it's been damned effective. We know what they are, what they want, and where they came from. Only one thing is certain... If Shepherd doesn't bring more Mass Effect 3 soon... There won't be a copy left to sell.

The following does have to do with Miranda: http://social.biowar...284/album/21072

Pretty Epic don't you think?

I know it's not everyone's favorite. But for whatever reason, it really works for me. Would like to see it as a customizable option in ME3.

You know, that's a really interesting thought, Tonymac, and actually makes me consider the whole thing from a different perspective than I had previously.

I never let Miri do any missions without Razyx, social.bioware.com/bw_projects_gallery_file.php

So much betterlooking then her matress suit it's not even funny. I dislike her alternate apperance because dressing her like a space marine might be "realistic" but jars with her personality for me.

There are tex mods for her visor also social.bioware.com/project/4656/ removes one side.

Would you guys like Miranda to be part of an intra-squad romance in ME3. I see two possibilities is both parties are single: Kaidan and Jacob. I like both pairs quite a bit, though Jacob needs to mature before they try again. But the debrief after his LM pushes my buttons in a good way.

Neither of them seem suitable for Miranda.
