Miranda played a major part in ME2 (more than what Ashley did in ME1) even though Miranda might be a bit sexualised she's the heart & soul of ME franchise... She has to be a permanent squad member in ME3 cause she just awesome... & she can beat any spectre in battle with her load of biotic talents so she must stay...

There's no real proof of this, spitting in opinions as facts ruins anything useful you might bring to the table.

Wow, tough crowd Image IPB

Yvonne is obviously who I want to see playing Miranda in the game. And I've become a fan overall. But, if we're talking live action, I could see Hayley Atwell doing it. She's brunette, and closer to Miranda's body type. The accent is different, but still good.

Please... MIranda's fandom doesn't need this.

Never knew that "poster character" translates into "heart and soul of the franchise" and that her talents can rival those of a spectre.

We all love MIranda here, but there is a difference between a fan and a fanboy. Please, do not act like the latter. It makes us look bad.

It's no use trying to estimate who Miranda can and cannot match in combat. Her enhancements are not all combat-related, but cover a broader range. She'd probably be no match for the likes of Tela Vasir, one on one. But it doesn't matter. That's not why we like her anyway. I'd rather have a super-smart operative and scientist than yet another combat monster.

I agree.

Miranda is, to borrow the military parlance, a "combat multiplier." Her broad range of tech and biotic abilities (not to mention the direct effect of her class skill) serve to make the entire squad exponentially  more effective, in addition to her own arithmetic contribution to the team.

Put another way: as a fighter she's alright, as a squad-member she's the best.

@Dreadlord Aditya
It appears we're a little oversensitive at the moment. Sorry about that. Usually we're a rather friendly bunch, except when we're debating contentious issues. So a belated welcome in this thread. We're always glad to see new fans.

I personally suspect that whomever wrote the infertility line didn't have the faintest idea in their minds about a possible pregnancy ending with Miranda, and so didn't think it would matter much. Obviously it was a misstep, but a forgivable one to me.

BioWare has done worse retcons.. Even as recently as this year. So they may still come to their senses.

Ultimately, there's only one person I can see having any sort of even epilogue pregnancy, and that's Liara.

Isn't she 200 years or so from being a Matron? I think Ashley would be the most logical personally. I mean she is big on family, human, no known health issues, etc

I suspect Ashley will be a bisexual option and thus it won't be included for balance's sake. And I don't think you have to enter the matron stage to have children, it's just that that's the most common time for it; maidens seem to be sexually mature, and the point of sexual maturity is that you can have children.

WHOA WHOA WHOA.

That's just your opinion on Yvonne Strahovski speaking. There's only one option for a real person to play Miranda.

Neither jtav nor I have said we didn't like Strahovski. We just aren't as fixated on her as everyone else here appears to be. We care about Miranda, the character in the ME universe. Who's cast in her role is obviously important but secondary to the character herself.

What he said. And VA requires different skills from TV, which requires different skills from a movie. And it was a movie I was speaking of. I've never advocated to replace Strahovski as VA, only said I'd wait to hear the replacement before commencing with lynching. After all, Strahovski isn't the only person wh plays Miranda now. The localized versions seem rather bad, but they exist.

I think we can afford to dial it back a notch in that department. If someone feels an irrepressible need to jump down someone's throat, I'm always available...

Yes, fellow posters, for the sake of argument, I'll defend whatever positions you most hate and despise: catsuit/armor, CB/betrayal, melting of the ice queen, increased/decreased femininity, Miranda uber in combat/Miranda not uber in combat, virginal Miranda/experienced Miranda, miracle pregnancies/magic sperm, Strahovski is a gush-worthy goddess/Strahovski is off-topic in this thread, whatever... Take ya' pick!

I guarantee a good argument and a rhetorical punching bag for you, all at the reasonable rate of completely free!

Bring it! Image IPB

I think that fits exactly with the ME2 implementation, and I would like to see it continue. As Ieldra points out, uber fighters are a dime a dozen anyway. What Miranda does is different, smarter, more tactical.

Are you referring to a certain mage?:P
I wonder how it's possible that one of my favourite characters in DAO-DAA became on of the characters I hate most of that IP.

About Miranda, I don't care if they'll not make a pregnancy ending. If they're going to change the infertility though, I hope that they'll came with a good reason, and not  "Shepard is special"<_<.
Anyway, my Shepard as already a Krogan to raise. It doesn't have time for another baby :P.

My only issue with Miri is her infertility.
And the funny thing is that it´s the complete opposite of a flaw for her character.
It´s just my stupid problem.
But i still think that BW is taking Miri´s character in the wrong direction.
It almost feels like that BW is presenting Miranda just as a sick joke to male players,
first with her supposed perfection, then with the infertility.
All i want for Miri in ME3, is blonde hair and some sort of an assurance, that she is still the perfect woman.

Nah.. I couldn't care less about Dragon Age or Anders, I am talking about something quite bit more recent. It's been going on in the web for few days now. But there are others.

What it is? I probably missed something.
Unfortunately, I cared about DA. I generally prefer the fantasy setting to the sci-fi setting, and I really liked DAO and its lore.
And about blonde hair, I agree with you. Miranda should stay with black hair.

People have modded Miranda's hair to blonde. Look it up on youtube.

Doesn't look too bad, but black suits her much better IMO. Besides which, we all know brunettes are hotter anyway...

I'm not sure Germans, Spaniards from Central and Northern Spain, or Scandinavia would agree with you. Speaking of which, wasn't Miranda originally supposed to be Scandinavian? If so, it would make sense for the devs to at least consider making an Alt App pack for her as a blonde for ME3 down the line.

She was, in fact, originally supposed to be blonde. And now that default femshep is a redhead, I'd say anything is possible...

Has brunette Miranda been a lie from the beginning? An elaborate ruse?!?!? All will be revealed in ME3 Image IPB
