Her appearance as such isn't hotly debated, only her outfits. I woudn't be up in arms about a temporary scar, but I would dislike it nonetheless. The reasonwhy I'd dislike anything that mars Miranda's physical perfection is that I don't want yet another Aesop pushed down my throat. I thought I'd escaped that kind of thing with Miranda. Physical attractiveness is part of the package as far as I'm concerned, and I want to be able to appreciate it without, for a change, being told it's not important.

Well, obviously, I'm a big fan of Miranda's looks. And probably one of the few who doesn't even have a strong preference for armor/catsuit. So, no big changes is cool with me. I'm not really advocating, just considering the possibilities.

As for it becoming a morality tale about how looks aren't that important, I don't think it would necessarily play that way. For one thing, she's going to end up looking good, that we can count on. Maybe good with a twist. But that's about as far as I would expect it to go, at least once she got healed up.

Yeah, like I said, Seven of Nine. Not the Phantom of the Opera. It would give her an exotic edge, not disfigure her.

And can I make one of my occasional pleas to take any news we get about Miranda like adults? Lurkers watch, and our behavior can affect their feelings about her, either positively or negatively.

I chose Ashley not because I liked her more, but because Horizon was much more in-character for her and the dramatic conflict with her in ME3 should be more interesting.

How did this thread get to 650+ pages?

Miranda is at least the second-most popular LI and the most-used squadmate in ME2.
Also, Miranda has several controversial aspects, a lot of story potential and quite a few plot hooks. That has likely triggered more speculation than in almost any other character thread.

As I am unfamiliar with Seven of Nine (There's the name, the source and a hazy image in my mind), I have no idea what you're speaking about. Any picture links?

As long as you don't expect us to take news that we won't have Miranda for more than a mission in a calm and detached manner :P
BTW what triggered this plea?

She's the borg babe from Star Trek Voyager played by Jeri Ryan. Being used here just as a point of comparison for a character with cybernetic implants still looking hot, basically. Not that Miranda would look like that specifically, at least I don't think so.

BTW I have a similar problem with the depiction of Cerberus. I know they're evil, I don't need needless and incongruous cruelty that makes them appear incompetent pushed down my throat to notice. But you can't put me in a scenario where a wrong decision might mean extinction and then complain that I see some of that evil as necessary.

@nitefyre:
I know the name, that she's from ST and I even know how she looked at some time. I also know what the Borg are. I am, however, completely unfamiliar with her story arc and what similarity a scarred Miranda could have with her.

Well, unless the devs have essentially decided to write Miranda out of the story, which is possible, but I think unlikely, then she will be the one with the more conflicted view of Cerberus. The one who used to trust TIM and who believed in Cerberus's goals. She may have soured on TIM himself, and she may have lost some of her illusions regarding the organisation, but her point of view on the subject would take into account this type of thing.

I can just see Miranda responding to Ashley's criticism (some of it warranted, no doubt), by asking her what the Alliance was doing when thousands of human colonists were being abducted, and a Cerberus mission ran the Omega 4 relay and took the fight to the Collectors. That sort of thing.

I just want to see Ashley's reaction when she learns how deeply Cerberus has infiltrated the Alliance. Especially if there's a reveal about her grandfather.

And I wasn't comparing them as characters, on;y the level of disfigurement she would have via the failed attempt to stuff Reaper tech in Miranda.

I think the  issue i have in gerenal with Mass Effects morality systems is  this becomes so black and white that  there is no grey.  What makes stories about morality so great is the grey array .. Like Watchman for example-  What  Ozymandius did was on some  was evil but it stopped the world from destorying itself for a time there would be peace.

I disagree. The genophage issue is gray. The Samara/Morinth issue is gray (though that might just be me being weird). The Nirali Bhatia problem is gray. Cerberus being of some help in ME2 was gray. There are gray issues.

Or how much of the Alliance is built off  of Cerberus  work ... Oh that Reaction is going to great. Putting characters in situations like that is what makes a emotionally impacting story

Sorry, Xilizhra. That is just you being weird. I read the 'trusting a monster' thread and saving Morinth isn't really defensible at all from a moral standpoint in my opinion.

From a character personality standpoint I can see it. But it makes your Shep just a little evil.

I find anyone highly suspect who uses the term "righteous purging" in a non-sarcastic way.
