There are going to be new characters. And some of them may end up being very cool. Even favorites of ours. We just haven't met them yet.

If a current favorite of ours, such as Miranda, gets side-lined a bit, then obviously that will be disappointing. But hey, it happens. I see no need to rush to conclusions on the subject, though. Especially keeping in mind that, even if Miranda is not on the squad, she could end up with a very cool role in the game.

I'm going with multiplayer only. I get the feeling that MP is going to focus on Big Ben Guy and the survivors on Earth fighting the Reapers in the streets of Earth while Shepard and the rest of the Normandy crew are off saving the galaxy.

Anyway, yeah, my guess would actually be that these characters are some mix of supporting cast and/or multi-player only. Hard to tell if that's supposed to be Liara, but I don't think so.

It's probably safer. Here, let me help:

It's extremely likely that there will be a new female lead, as in the prior two games. Combined with Yvonne's scheduling difficulties, I'd say a temp appearance is the most we could possibly anticipate at this point.

I agree. Which is why if the blackmail plot comes to be and a boss fight with Miranda ensues, I hope it is regularly interrupted by Miranda and Shepard discussing the best way to get out of that predicament while trading blows.

I could see Miranda being hesitant to ask Shepard for help simply because of how Shepard tends to operate. He/She is a blunt instrument the sledgehammer to Miranda's scalpel. Having Shepard charging in guns blazing might put Oriana in even more danger.

In ME2, Shepard proved he can be subtle. Thane's LM, Kasumi's (granted, you have to fight your way out but that was because of Kasumi), Arrival (assuming you play a certain way, obviously).

My money's on mp exclusive. The Krogan is clearly Wrex but the Asari looks like a generic Asari commando while the humans are wearing Shepard's masks from the previous game.

That has yet to be confirmed. I remember a screenshot of Mordin where he was in a very stark and grey environment, unlike anything we've seen of Sur-Kesh so far.

Could just be generic Krogan, generic Asari, generic human female + male... meaning it's more a clue to how multi-player works than anything.

As usual, I will. I buy so few games, and milk my games so thoroughly that it's usually worth the added cost.

As for the MP, I'll wait for confirmation by BW, and even if the delay was mainly due to multiplayer, I don't think the SP game won't profit from it. I don't like that they spent resources on it, but in this case, I think they really want the SP to be epic. And the characters in the background of that cover are likely possible MP avatars.

Yeah, it's lighting, but I'd expect to see already confirmed squad members alongside if they were showing team members.

Image strikes me as inconclusive with regard to the scarring. Given the rest of what we are seeing, I think MP avatars is a plausible interpretation.

That is very fuzzy, but certainly scar-like. If it is Wrex that just makes the lighting choice seem very strange. If everyone had that same blue tinge or it affected the whole of the character I would definitely say Wrex based on those scars, but since it's not even used on his armour I just can't do that. =P

Also, look at the darker shades of blue around the edges of the shell, the scales on the chin.
