And we don't have confirmation on Legion, who's a dead ringer for Tali anyway.
That's basically a plus if they can fill the same squad slot.
There are two things that I will add to this seething mass of intriguing speculation, and then I must go get some work done:
1) An element of choice in squad selection, which Casey Hudson would seem to have recently confirmed, would really change the way the squad works in a big way. That muddies the waters of the type of speculation we are doing here. A lot.
2) The devs have been very consistent on the idea that the squad will be smaller and more intimate this time around. ME2 started out with ten. So I would think 8 would be the absolute max for a smaller squad. Maybe less. That makes some of the ideas thrown around here pretty unlikely, I think. If you have permanent squad members for each role + at least two returning squad members + at least one "surprise" twist squad member + DLC, then you are quickly in the range of the ME2 squad in terms of numbers.
Unless an element of choice is thrown in that makes it impossible to recruit everyone at once.
