 I did point out that it does not matter whether it's a catsuit or not. Still a drastic change whose purpose is to accentuate her figure.

As for the hair? Yeah, a women's hair tends to falls over the side of their face when it's loose and FREE. I'd say whatever way BioWare styled ash's LONG hair you would probably still see it the same as Miranda's. But for me, I still see the plain difference.

In real life, yes. In a videogame, there are other options. The similarity was most likely intentional.

I'm aware of it. Right now we are discussing whether Ashley's presence in the game coupled with her new appearance will negatively affect Miranda's role in ME3. I find this to be a valid concern and in topic.

I'd choose replacing Yvonne over Miranda having a smaller role due to holding on to her. Yvonne did amazing voice work but I can see her in other series and movies. This will most likely be the last game featuring Miranda.

Apparently not. Speculation is that she would do it in November, when Chuck has wrapped. But nothing has been confirmed.

Not that we're aware of and Chuck wraps in November. And, yes, Strahovski should have been replaced if that's a reason Miranda gets minimal screentime.

But Miri is not complete withoutb Yvonne's voice. If they replace her, it'll be like those damn straight to DVD animation sequel in which they replaced the original voiceovers, resulting in a bad feeling toward the film.

That would actually pissed me off a lot. It simply wouldn't be the same for me. I'd probably end up disliking Miranda because of it. Let us hope! That it doesn't or hasn't come to that.

Not saying it isn't. But I think that, if Miranda does have a small role, that would have been determined well before Ashley's redesign, i.e. the causality would go the other way: Miranda was not going to have a large role, so Ashley was redesigned.

I'm not really convinced that is accurate at this point. But it is more plausible than the idea that Ashley was designed to look more like Miranda, so Miranda's role was reduced. Don't mean to split hairs, but it is a significant difference: there's no point in resenting Ashley being revamped to look more like Miranda, because Miranda's role in the game would have been determined separately from that in all likelihood. Whether because of Yvonne or some other reason.

Well, yeah, I was responding more to MisterJB. Anyway, I don't mean to say I don't get what you guys are feeling. It's just that, well, we've known about Ashley's redesign for a while now. So, it's nothing new, really.

If you want to ask the devs about it via twitter or whatever, I'm up for it.

They will give a non-answer, and then we'll go back to waiting

Well, we've talked about this before. Either Miranda herself will look significantly different, or she won't be around much. Probably. There are other possibilities, but I do think those are the most likely.

Well, Miranda's situation has probably changed drastically. So, for all we know, her redesign came first. I could see numerous ways in which that could play into the story.

Or you're right, and Miranda was written out of the story, so Ashley was redesigned to fill the void. I'm just not ready to go all pessimistic quite yet. We'll have plenty of time for that when we know for sure.

There's only so much pessimism I can take. We're in the information drought, there's still a fair bit of time between now and release.

Miranda is confirmed to be back, and unless she turns into the Mass Effect equivalent of Anders then I'm not too worried.
