LOL. The ME2 team is so proud of their new hair tech, I very much doubt they'll leave Miranda alone. I'm fine with that, actually I'm looking forward to the result.
You and me both. Having the hair up in combat wouldn't bother me at all, though. Short hair I would probably like less.
But the ponytail of doom...
That I'm okay with

The dynamism of a well-crafted ponytail will clearly show how Miranda's character has developed between the end of Mass Effect 2 and the start of Mass Effect 3.

And I support the complete absence of pony tails in ME3

Sorry if I'm restating things others have said, I didn't have time to read all 695 pages of this thread lol.
Oh yeah and no new hair-do. Plenty of ways to have different long haircuts without having to resort to a complete style change.

Hey, new to the boards here but I feel compelled to show my support for Miranda. Only character in the series I knew beyond a doubt I needed to romance. Full squadmember and LI for ME3- anything else is unacceptable. Note: I don't consider "full squadmember" to be 'at Shepard's beck and call all the time". You could expand the fire team concept introduced in the suicide mission and actually show how she effectively leads a second team. Or go the ME2 Tali route and have Miranda busy for a part of the game but able to join later.

I support your support
Great post, by the way, I agree with many of your points.

Do you support pony-tails? This is important and could decide the fate of Miranda in ME3.

Disagreement on the ponytail issue will not be tolerated
I demand Ponytail of Doom!

If only modding were easier in Mass Effect. Everyone who wants Miranda with a ponytail could get that. And then Ieldra2 could get Miranda with her loose hairstyle.

I personally prefer long loose hair.
In real life I find some women are more attractive with short hair, probably due to the shape of their face and/or head.
I don't think Miranda has a face that's suited to short hair.
Ergo I don't think short hair (even a ponytail) would work and even if it didn't look bad it'd be too different from the appearance we know and love.
That being said if short hair NEEDED to happen I wonder if something like Quorra's hair from Tron Legacy would look good? With a Mass Effect movie being talked about everyone's probably considered live action casting and I always thought Olivia Wilde would play a good Miranda if Yvonne was unavailable.

I think a "traitor" scenario is possible, but I wouldn't like it because Miranda would probably look pathetic instead of villainous or nobe but having incomplete info.

It's always been a possibility, though not one I think is particularly likely. It's a reason why just about any info about Miranda could be considered spoilery, though, since she's the only squad member whose allegiance is even the slightest bit in doubt, really.

And I don't find her similar to Miranda at all. Even in that low-detail shot. Both have long dark hair, that's it.
I think it's worth pointing out that Vega and Kaidan also display broad similarities: brawny guys with short hair in armor. They have somewhat different hairstyles, complexion and armor, and Vega appears to be taller.
Even if nothing about Miranda's appearance were changed, she would look about as similar to Ashley as Vega to Kaidan.
Difference is we know those two gentlemen are both on the squad. The other difference, though perhaps somewhat debatable, is that Ashley's look has been redesigned to resemble Miranda's. Which is understandably a little irksome given the circumstances. But I don't think it's a big cause for concern.

Yeah, that would suck. I suppose it's within the realm of possibility, though I think it's unlikely. Anyway, do not want.

Setting: Parker, Elliot, Hardison and Nathan are watching a video feed of the inside of a security room before they begin infiltrating a high-rise office building. Nathan identifies five security guards and which ones are shown going on a patrol route on another video feed despite them going in and out of shot of the various cameras.
Parker: I can't even tell how many guys are in the room, how can you tell who's who?
Nathan Ford: Haircuts, Parker, count the haircuts.

Is she though? Unless you didn't do her loyalty mission I'd say she's about as loyal as anyone. Even unromanced, she has plenty of conversations where she admits your skills and leadership are awesome. Indeed the only problem she ever had with you was loyalty to Cerberus goals and once she's no longer on board with them that goes away. I'd say Vega being the newbie would be more of a question mark (unless they play the hero worship card)

Wait why would Miranda turn traitor if Cerberus threatened Oriana? I'd expect she'd go ballistic on them instead and probably get Shepard to help.

Well, what you're describing there is why I think it's unlikely. But, since we know Cerberus is a big enemy in ME3, and Miranda is known first and foremost as the Cerberus loyalist, it's a natural thing for people to wonder and speculate about.

It was my impression that this changes throughout the game though. There is the infamous resignation. And I know that doesn't necessarily happen during the Suicide mission if Miranda's not with you but I think even if she isn't she still resigns offscreen. It's such a big change for her, I would expect it to come back. It's not like "you either talked to random bystander x or you didn't". I know the circumstances were kind of shocking but if a character whose biggest defining feature is loyalty to Cerberus is able to just up and quit in 3 seconds flat you gotta figure she's pretty close to that edge to begin with. Even if we were to say that had Miranda not seen the Reaper and the Illusive Man's adamant desire to have the base, she wouldn't have quit, it sill doesn't bar the possibility of her being talked into it later by Shepard and whatever squadmates DID see those things. Besides consider that she's no more pleased by the way the Illusive Man lead them into a trap on the Collector ship then the rest of them and she sees what the Collectors are using people for. Even if she's not in the final batlle is it that much of a stretch to think that Shepard came to talk to her after, told her the whole story and asked "is this the kind of people you want to work for"? I think even unloyal Miranda might not be too fond of Cerberus after that.
Anyway despite the rant, I can't dismiss a possibility that she's still loyal to Cerberus or that Bioware would have to take that into account. But I maintain that's not the case for a loyal Miranda and certainly not a romanced one. Either way I won't be seeing that (I hope:?)
