I like Kaidan about as much as I do Miranda. Those two and Liara are the three characters that really make ME worth playing.

speaking of LIs, how do you guys think the romance from ME2(if not Liara,Tali, or Garrus) will play out? All I'm getting is that only the original squad is acknoledging the romance(ash, Kaidan, Garrus, Tali, and of course Liara), while the other LIs info are in the dark.

Not quite sure what you want to know there, but I think any romance of ME1 or ME2 will continue in a meaningful way in ME3.

I come bringing fanfic.

The latest update of Elyvern's fanfic Degrees of Inheritance is up. The link goes directly to the new part, if you want to start at the start, go here.

It's a small update, but it contains the big revelation about what, in this timeline, were Mr. Eldfell's (Miranda's father's) plans for his daughters, why he did what he did and what exactly is encoded in their genomes. I have no idea how many of Elyvern's regular readers saw that coming....but it's big.

If you don't mind a little promotion: if you only want to read a handful of Mass Effect fanfics ever, this one should be one of them. Featuring an after-the-Reapers setting, with Miranda, Shepard, Oriana and their younger sister Cordelia, an OC.

I hope she looks less like Michael Jackson in the next game.

Wow. That's a beautiful picture. But the contrast between the animated face and real body is a bit jarring.

Here's a better one of its kind. BTW, the face in both pictures is real. Might be a little touched up in the previous version, and of course there is cosmetics, but real nonetheless.

No kidding? The first totally looks like someone blended a real picture of Yvonne with character art from Miranda. The hair is more prominent in looking drawn. Around the eyes too. Second pic is gorgeous.

You're right. It looks doctored, but it's definitely not Miranda from the game. Look at the hair.

Been meaning to check it out. Sounds interesting!

I prefer the second manip as well, though both have their merits.

Was I one-upped? Probably. I'll take the hit like a champ. Also, I'll repost Miranda doing the impossible.

And truly an inspiration to us all.

I know I'm stepping into a minefield here, but it's an aspect of Miranda I've often thought about. I hope this thread won't be derailed because of it. This is about Miranda's view on politics within the ME universe, so avoid bringing real-world examples into it if at all possible.

So, are you really going to leave me hanging on this one?

I was watching football at the time, but that doesn't mean I wasn't paying attention Posted Image

Cover of the art book coming in February.

I'm more irritated than I should be that Miranda got her arm chopped off.

It could mean Miranda only has one arm in ME3...

As does Tali? The combined rage of Miranda and Tali fans will drown them in a sea of blood!
... or at least typo-riddled flames.

*edited for, you guessed it, a typo.

As loath as I am to bring up the betrayal line, I do have a question. Why does Miranda say the line if you pick the Paragon response when every other person who advocates destroying the base responds to the Renegade response? Coding error?

Nah. At least I really doubt it. Miranda's line works differently than everybody else's on a number of different levels. It's intended to show a shift in allegiance, whereas the other do not. With the Renegade option, the same shift manifests itself if you speak to her later, though more subtly. So, minimal chance it was a mistake. I want to say zero chance, really.

Everyone else only responds if Shepard indicates s/he woud make the opposite choice. Squad members who advocate keeping the base respond to the Paragon line and vice versa. Except Mrainda.

And I am not happy about the loyalty shift one bit.
