Thanks Ieldra2 for that awesome Miranda LM uniform picture. It's fantastic!

So the BW folk see Miranda everyday when they arrive and go home = can only be good, as it is a constant reminder and she probably has some fans within BW too :)
I'm grasping at straws because of the lack of real info I guess...

Anyway, as for ME3 imports I'll have 3, all with the same decisions, just a variable amount of survivors of the SM.

1) my faves aka the mini squad (Miranda, Mordin, Grunt, Kasumi)
2) the "realistic" casualty squad (faves + Jacob, Garrus, Legion)
3) all survive (though not all loyal), just to see what happens in ME3 with them for myself

I'm doing a new sig now and I don't know wich phrase to use; "Miranda loves Shepard" or "Miss Lawson loves Shepard", writed with capitals.

Miranda loves Shepard, and it would be Ms. Lawson anyway.

Not exactly. I mean, I don't just kill anyone for the sake of it. But, since I know what will happen and what is required for anyone to die, at least since my first playthrough, I pretty much have to consciously choose for that to happen.

But I try to do it for "story" reasons.

I've done this too, just see what happens (got Shep killed too)

Of course seeing characters die like that (Miranda, Shepard, etc) it was really sad :crying:...then I reload and beat the SM with no casualties. :D

Actually, one of my great regrets is that loyal Miranda can't die at the final boss. Shepard cradling her as she dies is beautiful.

I like that Miranda doesn't immidiately fall for Shepard. When we first meet her she tells us that she hopes that he's worth the time and lives that it took to bring him back. Having a romance based off of a mutual respect is a refreshing change of pace from some of the other romances.

On the non-romance front I like the fact that Miranda's backstory gives us an example of the downside of scientific progress. ME1 introduced us to a world where genetic modification is a panacea, it cures disease, fixes genetic defects, all with nigh insignificant drawbacks. Miranda shows us the darker side of genetic modification, she's been engineered to be perfect, but there are psychological and emotional effects to that engineering.

I totally agree with you.  I liked how she shot Wilson for betraying them all.  I laughed at Jacob getting all bent out of shape.  I totally love that scene and my maleshep asking her questions.  I also liked the way she presented herself on the Cerberus Station just after you talk with the Illusive man.  :)

It seemed to me that Tali, Liara and even Ashley were all interested in you from when they first joined or shortly thereafter.    It was refreshing when Miranda said.  "I'm not looking for a friend.  Stay focused on the mission."  haha. That just made it even more a must to "become" her friend. :D

Miranda: "I'm not looking for a friend.  Stay focused on the mission."

Shepard: "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED"

And here's one from my headcanon: When Miranda asks Shepard to promise never to sacrifice the mission for her life. Shepard answers: If the fate of humanity hangs in the balance. Then and only then.

What do you mean? The canon playthrough but as it happened in your head?

As for the quote itself, granted that it would be an extremely difficult choice to make if that happened, i believe that he indeed wouldn't sacrifice the fate of whole humanity for her.

But let's see a what if situation. If in ME3 there is a dilemma in a mission where there is a bomb in a ship about to take off with hundreds of people in it. And there is also a bomb in a room further away from the ship with Miranda in it (or anyother LI). And you were given the choices: a)attempt to deactivate the bomb near Miranda first and then try to stop the ship or B) try to stop the one on the ship and then attempt to stop the one on Miranda.

What would you chose to do? The cool thing about something like that would be after you made your choice and you managed to do the first thing, the game to allow you to try to do the second thing but then before you were able to complete it you would fail because you wouldn't have time. That would be cool and gut wrenching...

I'd pick Miranda. :o  Sorry people.

I've seen this happen exactly the way you described in Alpha Protocol.  The character you saved, if a love interest was pissed?   I did both version to see what happened in each. I haven't played it in a long while.  I enjoyed the game and sad when they cancelled the DLC for it.   :D

We still don't know that TIM isn't similar. As I see it, he's a nationalist rather than a speciesist. Which Miranda is, too.

Is Miranda really a nationalist? I don't think so. The way she talks about Cerberus she sounds to me more like an admirer, not a member. I think she is infatuated with the idea of Cerberus and with their dedication to their beliefs. I don't think she herself necessarily shares them though. Thus the ease with which she can defect at the end of ME2 or otherwise be very uncomfortable if Cerberus is able to capture the Collector Base.

Miranda sees Cerberus as a group concerned with something bigger than itself. They serve a higher cause. She contrasts this to her father who I get the impression she felt saw nothing greater than himself. Her father was a man driven by greed where-as she see's Cerberus as a group ultimately driven by selflessness.

Point is, I don't think she's a nationalist. If TIM had been assassinated and the Shadow Broker approached her I think he'd have eventually been successful in recruiting her. In ME3 I'm sure she won't be on TIM's side.

I don't think the SB would have been successful unless Oriana was in imminent danger. She does need to work for a cause, and the SB had no cause except money and power. She tells you herself that she believes in what Cerberus stands for and defines that as the advancement of the human race. It's the methods and the unsavory element she comes to dislike, not the goals.

And I never saw befriending Miranda as a challenge. I'm prickly and reserved by nature. I might out-prickle Miranda. I've had people who seemed to view it as their duty to get me out of my shell. It only annoyed me. What did work (and would in Miranda's case if not for pacing issues) is letting me "sniff around" and decide if this person's worth the emotional energy to befriend. And don't expect the other person to have a personality change. I've had people expect me to be sunny and warm once they got to know me, but I'm just not. Which is why I get irritated with some people's (not recent) desires for Miranda. Reserve is not a pathology.

So, it wasn't a challenge. We just hit it off.

This is the same woman who will callously gun down Niket and Wilson? I don't buy it. She knows what Cerberus does and has for a long time. I agree that she draws a line, but I don't think she was ever as "onboard" with Cerberus as she thought she was.

Like I said, she loved the idea and respected Cerberus' zeal, but was still at heart an outsider.
