But, havn't Bioware near-confirmed that Miranda won't be a squad member, but will appear in the 3rd along with the likes of Jacob, Mordin and Thane.  In which case, i could be right in going for the Ashley LI for the 3 titles.

if that's the case, i might be this mad.....only because I'm upset that the permanent squad is mostly decided for us (VS, Garrus, Tali, Vega and....I'm missing someone I think)

i guess it's only fitting that ME-1 guys had to go looking for Garrus and Tali in ME-2, so now us newbies have to go looking for Miranda........

Ah, the rage quit video, lol.
and I honestly hope Miranda will be a squadmate in ME3, the tension between her and the VS would be high(especially Ashley.)

yea....there are lot of fans who take their maturity way too seriously and are gonna be put off by a Ashley-Miranda/Soldier-Biotic show-down. I'm already about to churn up a save with Ash as my initial LI.......

Err, I might be mistaken but I remember that salarian was an agent of the Shadow Broker

So Revelation is the source? Guess I have to pick that up again.

No, Vertigo is correct. That Salarian was an information broker. Even so, I clearly remember hearing or reading somewhere that the Alliance tends to find STG bugs on their network.
Still looking for the source.

Nope. And I want to see how this plays out. You're more creative than I am, what do you think?

I think Miranda deserves to be dumped in most players' games. I usually heard complaints of "Why is Liara so cold? Screw this, I'm dumping her." Well, Miranda knows. She was there. It's one thing not to say so under orders, another to accept Shepard's attentions.

If I'm not mistaken, Shepard can learn the truth from Liara as soon as the first visit to Illium and without having to start "Lair". That helps?

Theoretically. Now if only I could trust the writers. And there's no way Shepard's not cheating post-Lair.

What if Shepard wasn't "in love" with Liara in the first place? I mean there was the mind meldings and the trip to Illos, but that's it. Hardly going steady.

While this is true ... I for one am put off  by this  because - I think there  are better ways of showing two strong, capable women like Ashley and Miranda  other than having them fight like 13 year school girls over Shepard..

Now of course if they are used as voices for two opposing but equal valid veiws points I'm all for it.

Ah yes, naivete. Believe what you want Crutch. "Good" or "Bad" the STG is nosing around in places where they clearly don't belong. If they can freely "assess the threat potential" of Council species then there's no reason that Cerberus shouldn't function the way it does albeit it's questionable chain of command.

Ah yes, unfounded assumptions including misattributed notions as to what I said. Who ever mentioned good or bad? I only made reference to the scope of their goals and their differering claims at political legitimacy. As for assessing the threat potential...

MisterJB wrote...
Do take into consideration that the only
races mentioned are the ones with a substantial amount of galactic power
(no Quarians or Elcors there) and that the Salarian race is absent from
the analysis.
This suggests that it was not an assessment on how the
Genophage could negatively affect the other races but rather an attempt
to determine how the other races could negatively affect the Salarians.

Which makes me wonder if the possibility of a Batarian Genophage is out of question. Just a little one?

Exactly what strikes you as shady about any of this?  "Assesing threat potential" is pretty much the purpose of any modern security/intelligence agency. What do you think the CIA does? Of course they're going to have one of their most brilliant operatives research the dangerous races. Would you waste Mordin's talents researching volus?  Yes it is likely those threat assessments were made specifically for salarians. Doesn't change the fact that the STG is officially under Council jursidiction and are essentially used as "Spectre Light" with more of an emphasis on inflitration and less on kicking ass.

Are batarians literaly overrruning Citadel space? If yes genophage is a possibility. If no, probably not.

One thing that would make me laugh is if banter occurs if you romanced both Miranda and Liara, but discontinued the relationship with Liara:

Normandy Galley:

Vega: (sits down at Shepard's table) I can't say that I envy you sir.

Shepard: Care to elaborate Jim?

Vega: Look over my shoulder.

Shepard: All I see is Miranda and Liara talking to eachother.

Vega: Yes, but it's your girlfriend and your ex talking to each other. Doc T'soni knows about your quirks, your funny habits, stories, the whole shebang. That could mean that Miss Lawson does too.

Shepard: I know both of them they're not the sort of people who would talk behind- (Miranda and Liara start laughing) - my back. Mr. Vega?

Vega: (smirking) Yes sir?

Shepard: Thank you for making me paranoid.

Vega: You're welcome sir.

It's a triangle I'd love to see, but I can't see a way to do it without making either Miranda or Shep a horrible person. Suggestions?

Well, even if you haven't started a romance with an ME2 LI, I think you can break it up with Liara during Lair.
IMO, this is the worst possible situation:

Romance Liara in ME1. Finish ME2 with a romanced Miranda and start "Lair". Go out of your way to get Liara back. And I do mean out of your way, there's dialogue like this:
"Liara: Maybe someday we'll be together. But for now, you deserve to be happy.
Shepard: I want to be with you."
After this, if you invite Liara to the Normandy, there will be no mention of Miranda. The game goes on as if you never cheated, you can grab Liara's Azure. However, after she is gone, you can STILL invite Miranda up to your quarters and Liara's photo is STILL down (hiding evidence, maybe?Image IPB
So, basically, Shepard started a romance with Liara, then he cheated on Liara with Miranda, then he cheated on Miranda with Liara and, thanks to his sweet talk, both women are utterly convinced that absolutely nothing wrong is going on.
Poor Thomas Shepard, letting his heart do all of his thinking for him. I'm terribly attached to him but he will deserve whatever suffering he receives in ME3.

wait, is there a specific flag that indicates Liara knows about ur romance with Miranda? And it's only checked off if u go LotSB BEFORE the SM?

See my Shepard was a regular womanizing Bond, James Bond type of dude. Liara was just another notch under the belt (like many others during Mass Effect). Then he met his match when Miranda said "I'm not looking for a friend Shepard, stay focused on the mission." He tried going back to his womanizing ways with Jack (pre-Horizon) and Kelly, but by then Ms. Lawson was complicating things with all her logic. Omega 4, engine room, and now he's starting to regret it because these things called feelings are starting to grow like a tumor. It's so bad he turns Liara down. To be continued in ME3...

Is it really true that miranda and the others from ME 2 won't be squadmates? I hope you can get miranda as a squadmate preferably a full time squadmate and not a temporary one if that.

One of my Sheps has the same story with the lovely Ms. Lawson.

Bravo sir, bravo.

That being said, Yvonne Strahovski was on the cover of a recent magazine I saw. I screamed "THATS FREAKING MIRANDA!" and attracted quite a few odd looks. XD

Well, it's complicated because my reaction as a player is "Can I have you both?' They are the two most compelling women in the series. I couldn't choose.

Miranda will be back but in EXACTLY wut capacity, we are not sure.....probably not as limited as other characters but not as certainly present as Tali/Garrus/VS/Vega

@Jtav and cusegirl thanks for the reply.

for the longest time I was against miranda, but now I'm a fan of miranda along with tali, liara as well as some of the other party members and in no particular order. As I said in another thread that one of my shepards hooked up with miranda though he was with Ashley.

Well, that's why I wrote the femslash pieces. I find them so romantically compelling that Shepard is the easiest one to write out. It's the ladies I come back for. So I ship them, no triangle. Unfortunately, bot an option in-game.
