Well, I'm done. Screw everyone from ME1 and screw the Alliance.Skullheart wrote...
Well, Casey is saying something like: "the characters are too busy to join your squad, but we have the ME1 characters back and the awesome Vega"

If you got that from today's Q&A, he didn't differentiate between the ME1 and ME2 characters at all. So what's the exact quote please. And if it's really not that bad, I demand an apology for causing us all a heart attack.
Honestly, it just sounds like a reiteration of what has been said before about the squad members being scattered about the galaxy, fighting the Reapers, leading interesting lives, etc. Which is going to be the case for everyone, since probably no one but the VS and Vega will be there at the beginning.
Probably no reason for new/additional angst.
Anyway, far be it from me to detract from the camraderie, so... Nuke 'em! Yeah!
@jtav, Love those pics!

No, but in all seriousness if the words "awesome Vega" were used yet no new information was given about old favorites, that's pretty infuriating.

But saying that the we will have the ME1 characters back and the "awesome" Vegas while the others are too busy, implies that the ME2 characters are the only ones who will have almost zero time as squadmates.
As Ieldra pointed out, in the actual Q&A, his statement about squad members doing their own thing applied to both ME1 and ME2 characters. It was just a question-dodge, basically. (Question was about Jack.)

It might help it you had an exact quote for the statement by Casey Hudson. Did he really differentiate between the ME1 and ME2 team members and say the latter were too busy? I do not recall he did, so either you must have another source or I heard wrong. Which is it?Skullheart wrote...

Skullheart will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it was all merely a sarcastic remark intended to express his frustration at the lack of news regarding ME2 characters in general and Miranda specifically...

Or here. It's been on BW Pulse for a while. Didn't hear a Vega mention. Jack was brought up with an emphasis on Miranda via screenshots.
Yeah, lots of Miranda during the voiceover part for that question. She's wearing the Miranda shirt, too.
Ugh, such a tease.

Would I get lynched for saying there *are* people I would be more or less okay with returning in Miranda's place?
I can safely say that you will not be lynched.
I may disagree, though

And at this point, I think temp is the best we can hope for. Just get it over with Bioware.

Just saying, I'd feel differently if it were Legion or Mordin.
Well, Miranda should be their regardless imo. Obviously, I'd rather Legion and Mordin than Tali and Garrus by a country mile, but that is a separate issue. I still think it's fairly plausible that Legion may be recruitable, perhaps either/or with Tali at a certain point in the game
Looks like Mordin is a temp, but I have to say I'm ok with that, even though he is up there with Miranda as a favorite of mine. Reason being that he has always been a character who works extremely well as an off-squad NPC. He just feels at home in the Normandy's research lab, for example. Give him a nice, meaty mission or two and plenty of dialogue, and he should be fine.
He would have worked just as well in ME2 as the research scientist only, rather than a squad member, provided that he was a temp squad member for his loyalty mission.

Shepard: Are you sure you can't stay here?
Miranda: Sadly, a paramillitary organization doesn't just topple itself.
Shepard: Promise me that you'll come back safe and sound then?
Miranda: Only if you intend to hold up your end of the bargain.
Shepard: I haven't let you down yet have I?
Miranda: (smiles) No you haven't. (the Normandy's airlock light turns green as Miranda's ship docks) That would be my ride.
Shepard: (kisses Miranda) I love you
Miranda: I know.

OOC Shep for me, but it works for the more sensitve types. If either Shepard or Miranda break out the L word (again) I'll ragequit for 20 minutes and then proceed to turn my Xbox back on and pretend it never happened.
