Half of me wants these leaks to be fake. The other half is hoping that they're real, because I just love seeing another DA-2 crash and burn moment.
DA2. Terrible game, but everything's fine folks! Because we got S/S relationships!

What I miss? Oh Spoilers suggest Miranda has a minor role?
Surprise surprise.

Looks like very limited presence on the team, though.

If these 'leaks' are true, then poor Miranda's reduced to an email chain in ME3. LOL.

Haha, that's precisely why a certain segment of the fanbase glorifies that game.

Limited presence on team, if that's the case i'll be very disappointed. Starting to get that sinking feeling that comes from high expectations for a game turning into a deeply disappointing end experience.

I know said this already about 6 months ago and I know they won't miss me (one person) as a customer, but I thought it's worth repeating. My fuse for how much I'll take is running short.

And despite it's obvious medicority defend it with tooth and nail because it's their game.

To say the least -- disappointed in Miranda's presence or lack thereof in the leaked stuff. Not going to post spoilers, but boy the game looks like it has more problems than very little Miranda.
Lets hope she'll be back. Apart from Ashley Miranda is the character I want back in my crew. I even would sacrifice most other squadmates to get her back, just for the banter between her and Ash.

I'm looking at you too Flemm, you said it looked like a worst case scenario
Well, I did attach a whole bunch of caveats to it
Because, yeah, we don't really know how it goes. But I think the leak would have to be really misleading or just wrong for Miranda to be around more than a mission or two towards the end of the game. That is possible, but it's looking a bit unlikely.
Emails as a means of re-introducing the character = bad sign, I think.

Remember Bioware is breaking ground here. I don't think there has ever been an attempt at a game trilogy with such a big cast, such a complicated decision tree and even limited story- and character/relationship continuity.naledgeborn wrote...
Regardless, part of the Mass Effect experience is dictating more/less how the story plays out. If I can't make Miranda significant supporting cast, after ME3 I'm done with BioWare.
I know said this already about 6 months ago and I know they won't miss me (one person) as a customer, but I thought it's worth repeating. My fuse for how much I'll take is running short.
If Miranda is sidelined in favor of characters with less story potential - then yes, I won't shut up about it and I won't get as invested with any Bioware character again, since then I will not be able to believe any more that game developers can make a game sequence with the kind of continuity an epic story like this needs. Doesn't mean I'm done with Bioware though, just that I won't believe in continuity in game sequences any more. The Origin disaster is much more likely to draw me away from EA (and thus, Bioware) for the foreseeable future.
Anyway, they set themselves up for unsolvable problems as soon they decided to make ME2 a game that was more about the team than the story, gave us a selection of three LIs per gender and made it possible that they all died.
How things go for me will depend on how Miranda is presented in the game, how the interaction with her goes and how her story arc ends.

Just a way to tell players she's still there. I say if we get her on the team with the scenario mentioned in the spoiler and have her until we get to TIM, it can still be great.flemm wrote...

That's true, and a really, really optimistic reading of the spoilers does leave open the possibility that her initial mission happens earlier than it would seem, and that it works like a recruitment mission. Then she would stay until TIM at least, which appears to be, as expected, the penultimate mission.
I think a more realistic reading suggests that the mission comes very late in the game and that it is meant to tie up all Miranda loose ends, with her main motivation having nothing to do with anything big along the lines of what we've discussed numerous times. But I hope that part is misleading. Still, my honest assessment is that it doesn't look good. Obviously, I will continue to hope for the best.

Such as?
Very predictable story arcs and tons of plot holes. For example, ---spoiler incoming-----
The dialogues with TIM, Kai Leng, etc are face palm worthy. Fembots chasing Shepard?? Is this Austin Powers?

To be fair, worse than I'd hoped, better than I feared.
That she is reintroduced by e-mails is never a good sign and I definitively do not like to have SPOILERSPOILERSOrianaSPOILERSPOILERS as a plot hook.
Ultimately, I think it will depend on just how soon what we've read happens, on what she has been doing in the background and on her interaction with Shepard.
Guess I won't be cancelling my pre-order just yet.
