Can we all just stop this rage/panic thing? Don't let some outdated draft affect us so hard.

We all knew that Cerberus can and will use Oriana against Miranda.
Even if we have to rescue her she still can have a "Your late Shepard. I was wondering If I have to save from my captors" line.

At least I'm happy that she can confront her father, and make peace with her past/origin.

And even if we pm a dev, they are never going to acknowledge anything that came from the leak.
The ship is sinking and we can just watch as it goes to the bottom.

I look at the situation right now and all I can think of is: damage control.

I know some people here think there's more to the leak and that the entire plot wasn't leaked, and that it's so outdated some stuff could have changed, but that doesn't negate the fact that you can almost form a coherent storyline from what you read there, and no matter how changed that script is it's never gonna leave the boundaries of the leaked one, in simpler words: we already know the general outline of Miranda's involvement in ME3 and I am not satisfied with it, the specifics of said involvement may change but it'll never leave the boundaries set for it.

Because they can't. We are not privy to any and all info we so demand.

Putting Oriana in peril was certainly not the only available option. No explanation needed as to why she is not in peril, or a line of dialog at most.

That said, as a way of leading to Miranda confronting her father, it could still basically work. Plenty of growth to be had potentially from that meeting.

I would prefer that Miranda assault the base together with Shepard, rather than being imprisoned. As it stands, the whole thing sounds extremely similar to Jack's recruitment mission, so I guess they are going for irony there.

There would need to be more to her role, though, specifically at least meeting TIM.

I am glad you brought this up, because everybody here seems to be neglecting, including myself, that character growth for Miranda can happen as a result. Plenty of growth potential. I like the prospect of that.

Unfortunately, that's probably accurate. Even the specifics are unlikely to change at this point, the only good options are that it has changed considerably already, or that there are significant chunks missing from the leak.

Really, what's there is terrible. It would literally mean that Miranda does nothing in the game but get captured and then rescued. So, there almost has to be at least a little more. I suppose, at minimum, there would be a fairly significant scene between her and her father (I guess).

Given where this is going, I actually shudder to think what the romance flag might add to the whole thing.

The logical question we should be asking ourselves right now is: now what?

I mean we already know how we're gonna meet her, a couple of e-mails in the first act, then a rescue and a possible temp mission in the second act, after that... what happens to Miranda? how will the romance affect the outcome? and is it possible she's gonna join us again?

Since the writers already put us in a tight spot, I think we should start speculating within the limits they imposed on us.

Well, there is no boundary for the end of Miranda's involvement. That's where all the remaining optimism has its source.

Not enough to get me up again. They said ME3 would make us cry. Well, I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but it did. Just not in the way Bioware expected...

There's a very slim chance she joins us. I'd forgive much is Miranda was made weak only to rise triumphant and supplant her father/TIM. I expect any romance will only add a few lines.

I could see something like this happening(not exactly ideal)

Once you rescue Miranda, she datamines her father's network gets the info Shepard came for (TIM's whereabouts). Miranda and Oriana get on the Normandy. Oriana gets placed somewhere safe(if there is a place?) Miranda returns to the Normandy leads the lab and works with Liara on getting intel on Cerberus/Reapers.

She becomes more of an "Operative" rather than muscle out on the field. Hopefully she returns to the field for the big arc on Cerberus. (Looks like Anderson has that spot though).

Hey, what has gotten into you to ninja my announcement!

I must say that comes at the right moment....I'm so relieved that Elyvern's Miranda has become so real to me that she overshadows the one ME3 might bring.

That's the last part of Chapter 6. One final chapter to go.

Theoretically these scenarios are still possible, but in practice it's looking more likely that Miranda wants to go have a normal life with Oriana or something along those lines.

Since not all of what has been leaked is currently in game, they are rumors (not the leak, that sadly is not a rumor).

Honestly, sounds more like additional confirmation that most of it is accurate. Not 100%, doubtless, but a lot.

I recognize no boundaries on the story of Mass Effect 3 coming from the leak and challenge anyone to prove the bolded part(s) or to defend the relevance of the underlined part.

That being said, I saw a picture on this page but it was not of Miranda. Could someone kindly post some gold:wub:?

I'm beyond hope at the moment. Priestly said MP was a rumor, and we have it. The Prothean was a rumor, and we have it. Now we have Miranda reduced to someone who must be rescued with a screen presence of a fraction of a mission as a rumor....

DAMN IT!

@CrutchCricket:
Why should I post a Miranda picture at the moment? ME2's hypercompetent operative is gone, reduced to a shadow of what she might have been.
