Can I ask though, generally and unspoilerish, and forgetting the original pessimism after the leak, are you feeling better about her role now you've had time to analyse things?

To answer your question from an admittedly gimped perspective, Buggirl, what I've read on Miranda doesn't sound bad at all. But on the other hand, I didn't think it sounded too bad to begin with. What I'm hoping for is that she'll have a good bit of presence throughout the story and not just at certain concentrated locations, but I can't confirm or deny whether that's the case. If there's newfound information that makes that aspect clearer, I'm not privy to it.

ME3 Miranda seems to stay very true to her character while still allowing room for some growth. Miranda is still competent, driven, resourceful, selfless, protective, etc but, to give an example, had ME3 Miranda been in the SM, I do not believe she would have allowed the crew to return to the Normandy without an excort unless they had already lost too many figthing squadmates.
Another thing worth pointing out is that the way she behaves in ME3, seems to vary depending on a lot of factors from ME2, from loyalty to romance. There will be a lot of different Mirandas in ME3, I believe.
Her role is small but only in the sense that she'll be involved, at most, in 2/3 missions. However, what Miranda does will have outstanding consequences on the main plot and it is extremely impressive.
They managed to tie all loose plotlines.
Her dialogue with Shepard has also been praised. There's moments to reminisce on the past, moments to think about the future.
All in all, it could have been a lot worse. We wanted more, of course, but what we are being given is very positive.

Thanks for keeping the spoilers out of the thread guys, it's much appreciated!

Well as one of the few semi-regular contributers to this fine thread still in attendance for today*, I can estimate the general consensus as "cautionsly optimistic" with "cautiously" being more on the trigger-happy end than the "listen for the kettle" end of things.
Personally I believe I argued valiantly for not overracting and taking these leaks too seriously; though you might not know it from the last couple of pages. Nevertheless further spoilers discovered by the amazing Vertigo_1 eventually validated those of us who didn't think the end of days was nigh and now I think most would agree that worst-case scenario is off the table (though some people's ideals also grow dimmer).
In short: back to business as usual for the most part. Although I have the nagging suspicion the spoiler group is the "in" thing for the Miranda crowd right now...
*Edit: Until I was

MisterJB, if the dialogue sounds good and regulars here have praised it, that's even better than I hoped for.
I'm never part of the in crowd, so I think I'll be fine!
Oh and thanks for the briefing guys!

Yes I should add 'cautiously' to that optimistic bit I put at the end. The over reaction was a bit of a shock to me, seeing as I only joined these boards after the release of ME2. The craziness of the DA2 forums should have been a warning to me though.

I think we'll be fine.
It really does look pretty darn good from what I've seen.

Is this determined from dialogue choices, such as choosing "your jealous" option over the other choices, or is it from major choices such as " Is she romanced?," Is she loyal?", " Did you blow up the base?", " did you have her kill Niket?" OR is the way she behaves different and spoilertafic.

Well, her spoilers left me a bittersweet taste. More bitter than sweet...
I concur with Skullheart. Now i've just got to decide which save to import as i find it highly unlikely i'll want to do more than one run through of ME3.

Here's mine: there's one big (and not totally unexpected) disappointment that's unlikely to change between the leaked and the final version, but I am still smiling. There is potential for awesomeness. I'll post a topic named "Miranda spoilers: The Verdict" later this day on the spoiler group, as a semi-spoilery account with no story details.
And I will play through ME3 with all my Shepards, most likely.

Thanks! That does make sense that it is major plot decisions, as changes to persons behavior due to a single dialogue choice woudl get tedious for Bioware and drive the metagamer who usually ends up micromanageing their story after the 1st playthrough to go insane.MisterJB wrote...

I must say that is impressive. To take those choices and have them alter a character's behavior, even if it is not dratsic is rather cool. I assume that this is for all the characters too.
