Yes and hopefully Shep remembers to lock the door so they don't get interrupted.

Don't forget turning off the intercom - that ruined it in ME1.

In short: back to business as usual for the most part. Although I have the nagging suspicion the spoiler group is the "in" thing for the Miranda crowd right now...

Well, there's a lot to discuss that can't be brought up here, so I guess it's only natural.

Personally, I'm not satisfied with what I'm seeing. Even assuming a best-case version, where a lot of stuff appears in the final game that is absent from the files, Miranda's screentime is going to be very limited.

As a broader point, the ME2-specific characters are all marginalized to a greater extent than I'm comfortable with.

And I'm fine with what I'm seeing. Maybe I should hand in my fan card?

Not at all, there's plenty of room for a difference of opinion Image IPB

Of course we must not forget is great detail to block the door before.

Yep that's going to be making up the first ten pages of my constructive criticism response once the game goes live it seems.

Damn... I felt better when I didn't know her limited role...

When will I be at the top of the rollercoaster again?

I'm fine too. But only assuming it's incomplete. Which I know it is, significantly, only not to which extent.

Maybe I'm just easy to please. The Miranda I know and love is intact. That's all I ever really cared about. And she doesn't feel "marginal" regardless of screen time.

You missed the small print, this rollercoaster may very well be a slide.

Right, LOL. But they made up for it later. The ME1 romance scenes had some pretty good lines, too. .

btw, is there any way to have only 1 character after the SM? I've already have Miranda and Zaeed after the SM, but I cant kill zaeed in his mission. Or is impossible to have only 1 squadmate?
(I know I can use the save editor, but I dont want to use it).

I believe that, past a certain point, Shepard himself cannot survive the SM. As to killing Zaeed after a worst-case scenario SM, I've never tried it, but if it becomes impossible, that's a pretty amusing detail.

You must always have two squadmates alive.

You know, maybe this is irrational, but I have the distinct feeling we'll get everything we want except extended screen time. And I'm not at all convinced that it won't turn out in a similar way for the other characters' fanbases. Well, with the exception of a cure for Thane. But that would be bad story design if you ask me.

Maybe I'm just delusional, but if so, then at least what I'm seeing in my mind makes for good fanfic hooks.

Also, here's an observation: I haven't visited other characters' fanbases often, but am I correct in thinking that we are unique in the amount of imagination we put into making scenarios for our favorite beyond the scope of personal relationships?

I still have Legion in sleeping mode. What could be better, Miranda-Zaeed or Legion-Miranda?

character-wise, Legion-Miranda. Combat-wise, depends on your Shepard's class.

As has been alluded to, we now know the nature and extent of Miranda's role. Would you like me to remove the arguments section or otherwise modify the OP in a way that doesn't involve posting spoilers?

I'd be careful to claim that knowledge, jtav. The waters are still somewhat murky in places. But I think that indeed the arguments section can be removed. The question is if the answer can be put in a way that isn't spoilerish.

Sorry. I mean, we can answer yes or no. You're right, there are large chunks missing. I don't know how to answer without spoiling.

I'd remove the arguments section and point anyone who asks to the spoiler group.

I have definitely not been here enough to go through the entirety of even the smallest character thread. But our numbers (number of pages that is) should be some sort of indication. I kind of doubt that before I got here you spent nearly 700 pages reposting the same pics and twiddling your thumbs so yeah it'd be a safe bet to say we got the most in-depth discussion. Another good indicator: which other thread had such passionate (and sometimes bitter) discussion about a single line of dialogue?:P

This goes in hand with what I was asking before about the size and outreach of our fanbase. I feared it was just a few of us supernerding out about the smallest detail amongst ourselves but not really bothering to represent ourselves to the rest of the community.

Well, I think it's easy to be bipolar about these things. The original leak was The Worst Thing in the World, and the stuff we have now tends to look better by comparison. But, actually, it is the same.

We have more details, but the basic outline of Miranda's involvement confirms the original leak (assuming allowances were being made back then for how Miranda's mission would probably look, i.e. it would be more involved, etc.).

It certainly seems so. One thing that has always struck me as interesting, or a tad odd, where Miranda is concerned, is that she is often accused of being essentially all about T'n'A by people who don't like her, but the fans, especially a lot of the more ardent fans, tend to be more focused on other aspects of the character (while still liking her looks, of course). Not universally true, but seems to generally be true.

Man, I'm almost feeling nostalgic for a good Collector Base argument at this point
