Poor Shepard!
Seriously though the way I see it Ash and Shep broke up during Horizon based on what you say to Joker and Kelly afterwards; the email was just a nice cushion to end it.
Besides Miranda never brought it up during her romance; I'm pretty sure she knew before the SR1 was attacked and for sure during Horizon and afterwards.
Well that's how I RP it...up to bioware how to implement the confrontation...

My Shepard also strayed with Miranda but it happened because he was hurt and angry. I would like Shepard to be able to return to Ash without hurting Miranda. He loves Ash but he also cares deeply for Miranda and values her in his life. If he weren't already in love, Miranda would have stole his heart. As for me, I love both women so when I saw him going there I really wanted to stop him. But they really meshed and I felt that to stop it was to not be true to the story.
Do I think that it is possible that no one gets hurt? Not really. But if they make scenes where either woman cries ... dear gawd, never mind Shepard ... I would hate it!. I am not playing this Shepard as some space stud but as a good guy who makes mistakes. I want both women to keep their dignity and if anyone looks like the idiot ... it should be Shepard.

Edit: PS Congrats on beind one of the most popular threads on the new forum. I'll always be a Kaidan girl but I'm glad Miranda's getting some love too. She and my Shep became buds near the end.

Ok, at the risk of sounding like a pervert I must ask because I can't find it on youtube and I'm really curious and I figured if anyone would know the answer it would be you guys..... but how in the heck does the romance scene with Miranda work if you have her in the DLC armor? Does she just change into her normal suit for the scene or what?
She always wears the default outfit during the romance scene. You know the white one.

Thank you! I was trying to picture it with the armor and it just wasn't working out.

Yeah, armor would make the romance scene kind of akward....to say the least.

Indeed. I RP it like this: my Shepard was attracted to Miranda right from the start and very much suspected what would happen. When Ashley refused to hear him out on Horizon, that was just confirmation.Vertigo_1 wrote...

I don't understand. Miranda knew what before the SR1 was attacked? Of course she knows about the break-up after Horizon - she reads Shepard's mail after all - but she couldn't have known beforehand how things would go on Horizon.Besides Miranda never brought it up during her romance; I'm pretty sure she knew before the SR1 was attacked and for sure during Horizon and afterwards.

I mean she knew about the romance...I know it's far-fetched but I believe Cerberus kept tabs on Shepard before ME2 started.
It seems to be hinted at from the conversation TIM has with Miranda in the intro.

I want all parties to be mature about it even though there's no way you can avoid hurting someone. It would be a good start to give Shepard an option where he isn't a dick for a change. You should hear the regret in his voice about having to hurt someone. If you come to love someone else, there's nothing to be done about it, but at least you can respect the feelings of the person you're breaking up with. As for Miranda, I wonder how she'd react - go back to her ice queen persona I guess, with any emotional connection with Shepard cut off sharply within one second. She'd nurse the pain from that cut in private.PMC65 wrote...

BTW, to my surprise, when I compare Ashley's and Miranda's romance, I find that Miranda's romance comes across as more serious than Ashley's. Sure, Ashleys romance scene is way better than Miranda's, but what happens before - the kiss, the promise scene - there's nothing like that in Ashley's romance. The connection to Miranda is deeper. Also I find it more objectionable to go back to Ashley after having romanced Miranda. Moving on is one thing, but moving forth and back another. If you go back to Ashley you've reduced Miranda to a fling, a distraction of the moment, and everything you said to her becomes a lie.

It's not far-fetched. Of course she knew about it. Think of Lazarus project. She must've known everything there was to know about Shepard that Cerberus could dig up.Vertigo_1 wrote...

I tend to agree. It's a shame that the council would never look past her history with Cerberus. That still won't stop her from doing everything she can to stop the reapers though.Errol Dnamyx wrote...
I agree that Miranda would be better Spectre material than Ashley and Kaidan, but I sincerely doubt, that she would accept such a title. She has all the skills she needs to get her missions done, special authority granted by the Council or not.
Precisely.Errol Dnamyx wrote...
I don't think she'd care about the Councils opinion about her. She's too busy using her special skillset to
stop the Reapers with a little help from Shepshep.
I agree, I'd rather Miranda form a new Organisation on her own. She's more then capable of doing it without Shepards help. I couldn't agree more about Cerberus & The Illusive Man/Woman though, It's reputation is beyond redemption at this point.Chaia wrote...
I don't know if I'd want her making one along
side Shepard (I think she could handle it herself just fine) but yea I'd
like to see Miranda make a new organisation, I just think both Cerberus
and the title of TIM/W has too much baggage.
I hope they give Male Shep some better Hair Options too... I'm really not fond of any of our current options. For that matter, i'd like to see improvements in alot of the facial features (Noses, Eyes, Mouths) in the ME3 Tool.Vertigo_1 wrote...

I've debated on Shepard staying with Miranda despite his love for Ash, but I don't know if Miranda would continue to accept that type of 2nd best. To be honest, he is confused about what the right thing is ... He won't approach Ash on his feelings and unless she confronts him he may just stay with Miranda.
In my head, he told Miranda about his past relationship and considering that she (Miranda) was there on Horizon, saw the meltdown and later saw Shepard hurting on the Normandy ... She knows how he feels. These two have been really honest with each other, almost brutally honest at times. He has confided things to her and she things to him almost challenging each other to walk. But they continue to stay together because somehow she makes him feel safe .. I don't know why but she does. He makes her feel imperfect, but it belongs to her and that makes her feel good. I've debated doing another run and not letting Shepard & Miranda have their time together, but that seems wrong. As you can see, I am really confused about how this story will end.
But even if Shepard went back to Ash, he would never call Miranda "a fling" ... he really does care about her. But I'm also not playing him as a heel. Just an imperfect hero who doesn't always make the right calls. For me, I have to like my Shepards or I can't keep playing them. They have to have some type of decency in them, not perfect but a genuine desire to try and do the right thing. If they're creeps I just can't care about them so why bother playing them.

I personally fear, that BioWare might go out of their way to bring us those catfights. So many guys seem to be having weird fantasies of having two gals fight over for them. Though I don't personally care, there's no exs in my Shepard's past, well maybe before events of ME1, but not after that.
Miri is the one and only.

Now if they both yell at eachother then start rolling around on the floor, pulling eachother's hair and ripping clothes while Shepard stands there all smug then that may be just a little over the top

Great that saved my day. The reaper are destroying the earth and no one can prevent man's fall except shepard. But unfortunately shepard isn't available, because he is wandering aroung looking for for new hairdresser.
As long as the new hairstyle looks awesome everything will be just fine.

It's one thing to know about official after-action reports etc, etc. Technical skills etc (even physiological makeup) on Shephard could all be learnt from reading his file somewhere. I hightly doubt that official files would say: "Oh, btw, Shephard is also romantically involved with his subordinate Ashley."
I highly doubt that Cerberus would have penetrated the SR-1 Normandy as well in order to have one of their men onboard for the course of ME1 as well if only because Cerberus seems pretty small, and the Normandy would probably have a great deal of additional screening involved. I got the impression at least that Captain Anderson handpicked everyone to serve onboard the original Normandy (with the exception of course of Ashley).
So, I don't think it's 'of course she knew' at all.

Why? Because I live vicariously through my shep, and I want the game to take as many chances as possible to massage my ego.
However, I don't want them to do things that will otherwise degrade the characters they've made so far, so I guess it's a pretty slippery slope to traverse.
