No. BioWare rather pander to the Liara and Tali camp. It's just the way of the world.

Edit: And Garrus.

What a shame. I don´t really care much for either Liara nor Tali.
God, my excitement drop a few paces now.

The romance is carried over, and fairly well.

In a series where there are 9 romance options I'd like to think that it isn't the only aspect of Miranda's story arc that I enjoy. But since that's all we're getting might as well be content right? Right?

No. =]

I'd say you're being too fatalistic, naledgeborn.
Sure, Miranda deserved a bigger spot on the game due to her Cerberus ties but her role in ME3 is not restricted to her romance and what we are getting is, IMO, quite good.

What we are getting is utterly terrible.

What's there is good. It's what's not there there that's severely problematic,

Exactly. Which is cause for concern, but also means the overall quality is still up in the air considering the age of the leaked stuff and its state of incompleteness.

I've noticed it before. Aliases are must haves. But I guess they'd find it confusing for us or (maybe themselves) to name a character twice. Meh... can't win them all.

Perhaps they've watched too many James Bond movies. He's another one who never uses an alias, if I recall correctly.

James Bond went by Agent 007. The Queen's Eyes.

And perhaps Miranda believes herself untouchable as a Cerberus Operative. She's quite confident in herself, in her biotics and skill. She doesn't even wear armor. That's one explaination.

Why? We see Miranda more than any other ME2 squadmate, her mission happens in one of the most important locations in the game, there will be allusions to said location before we actually go there which will build hype, she still appears to be very much herself while still allowing a certain ammount of character growth, she does some impressive stuff, her romance looks great.

I am dissapointed that she won't be more present in the game and I'm still hoping that Miranda's role was somewhat unfinished when these leaks were written but compared to the first leak, this is heavenly.

While what's there's some decent romance stuff i would hardly call the romance content in evidence great.
Not a fan of her mission either. I could live with it if she's also properly involved in TIM/Cerberus take down/plot.

Well yes anything was better than original leak rumours. Doesn't mean the current situation is in any way acceptable. Obviously it may have been added to but until i see some evidence i'm not going to be expecting anything.

He's also Mr. Beech in Casino Royale for all of ten minutes. Considering that Cerberus existed long before Miranda joined and she's TIM's second in command what if Miranda Lawson is the allias that all agents in her position go by that name? Sort of like the theory that James Bond is the name given to all agents who become 007.

I was extremely upset by Oriana's involvement when it seemed that rescuing her was Miranda's sole focus in the game. Now that we know otherwise, I think Bioware did a decent job connecting Miranda's personal issues with the larger plot.
She is just suffering from the terrible sidelining of ME2 exclusive squadmates.

No. You see, her father's name really is Lawson.

I don't think so. In "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" Bond actually gets married. Sure you could stretch that Bond's name is actually an alias, but I don't think so.

I'm not satisfied. Oriana is her dominant driver, with the other stuff feeling like window dressing. It is however, not as horrible as some make it seem. And her mission is a mess. It's hard to draw definite conclusions about anything.

Well, that initial leak is certainly not going to define my expectations for a good Miranda appearance (which haven't changed at all since I first started posting here). The early draft was nausea/rage-inducing, the leaked script a little less so by comparison, but that doesn't make it good.

That said, what's in the leaked script could work really well as approximately the first half of Miranda's involvement (in the scenario where she survives her mission). It's obvious how the rest of her involvement could play out in a way that would be awesome and very satisfying. Given that Miranda's role in the leaked script is definitely unfinished (though by how much is unclear), I have to reserve judgment until I see the final product.

If there's nothing else significant, or if it's handled in a half-*ss sort of way, where too many important elements of the story happen offscreen, then I will definitely have a problem with that. If it's handled right, it could be good. We'll see. I can't say I'm optimistic, since there are too many question marks, but there's enough room for doubt that I feel obliged to wait and see.

This is all true.

This is also true.

My final judgment will depend on the presence of the following elements:

(1) Closure on her Cerberus affiliation and affirmation of her dedication to the cause of advancing humanity, non-Cerberus style. I'm just finishing yet another ME2 game, and the evidence for the latter is so overwhelming that I'd find it utterly unconvincing to relegate that to an emotional crutch.

(2) The presence of that dedication as a motivating passion (along with the welfare of her sister) in her story arc.

(3) A significant contribution to the endgame.

A less stressful discussion. What sort of Christmas gift would Miranda appreciate?

I'm within the SM currently. Noticed that all good Miranda screenshots on the SM are between the second Oculus attack and the landing on the station. If you Ctrl-Alt out of the game at the start of the second Oculus attack, you can rename the current Autosave.pcsav and get a permanent save there, for easy replay of this sequence.

Yet again I didn't manage to make Miranda not talk to Oriana... For those who want to try different outcomes of Miranda's LM and loyalty, I recommend playing Miranda's SM after Reaper IFF. You have two missions between Reaper IFF and the crew abduction - this would be Miranda's and Legion's LMs. Just don't forget any romance talks between the missions. There are just enough missions to get them all: Miranda LM - LM debriefing - Legion LM - the kiss - crew abduction - the promise - SM/Engine room scene.

Also while the Engine room scene has its problems, it makes me smile nonetheless. :)

I think I'll fail too, at least with Matt. All he wants is a safe and happy Miranda, and he tends to grab my sleeve and give me puppy dog eyes when I'm mean to her.

A thigh holster, for her more "covert operations".

Jewerly; a dress, something in black; three front row tickets for a concert playing Carl Nielsen's music.
