I think you're spot on as to why she dislikes her. I put Miranda more at fault, but because I expect more of her. She has a capacity to control herself Jack lacks. "Clearly you were a mistake" crossed a line, and I'd castigate her for it in private if possible.

I think there's a good but of pride in there as well. Miranda does not apologize easily, and Jack attacked the core of her self-identity, so conceding a point was never going to happened. They're two sides of the same coin: both abused and treated as tools. They responded very differently. Jack lashed out while Miranda embraced her tool status. Both are horribly scarred, but Miranda is functional. I can romance her because of that, but I also come down harder.
