LOL. There's no kill like overkill. Let's hope they won't make Shepard engage Kai Leng in a fistfight.

Why not :o ?

It would be a little anticlimatic if the fight was just shooting at each other's shields until one died.

Why? Because the reasoning for a fistfight in a war fought with high-tech weapons can hardly avoid to appear ridiculous, and setting things up so that neither opponent has a better weapon at hand can hardly avoid to appear contrived. See LotSB. I thought "you can't be serious" when I got into that phase of the fight.

Jesus christ, you're very picky you know  ?

This is still a videogame fundamented on Epic-scale Science-Fiction, there's nothing wrong with writing reasonable justifications for great hand-to-hand fight scenes, even then, why exactly would people dump close-quarters-combat in the future ? Even with all the high-tech weapons ?

Plus, Kai Leng will probably kick Shep's ass in a melee fight.

That's exactly the point, wouldn't it be interesting to see that and Seeing Shepard struggle ? I think it would be an awesome scene !

They could do it withouth  a melee fight. But I have the impression that we'll get a melee fight between them. We already have something like that in ME, on Virmire, between Shepard and Saren.

Well, can't say I wouldn't mind an ocassional shootout similar to what we had with Jedore, Kuril, Uvenk, etc.

But I think they really need to level it up with Kai Leng, specially given how much of a Mary Sue he has become  !

I'm seeing Kai Leng name a lot here, I assume he will be involved somehow in Miranda's story arc. Will they fight?

*Spoiler follows. Highlight to read*
Apparently they will. There appears to be a variant of her story arc where she holds her own against him - which is VERY impressive - and another one where he kills her. We will be able to warn her about him in an earlier encounter so that she's prepared and survives. Sadly, that fight appears to be off-screen. At least that's the state of things according to the leaked stuff.
*Spoiler end*

From the sound of it Kai Leng is sort of the anti-Shepard, he's an ex-N7 who just so happens to be TIM's most lethal agent. From the sound of this we either have an awesome battle on our hands, or he goes down like Boba Fett in Return of the Jedi.

Well after four billion credits the Lazarus Project had to cut costs somehow, so what if one arm's shorter than the other?

How is BioWare not going to have this in ME3, especially with pics like these.

I understand what you mean, but, for whatever reason, this brand of sci-fi/fantasy has always been drawn to the hand-to-hand fighting style in one way or another. Klingons do it in Star Trek. Light sabers are really the best example in some ways. Even in Frank Herbert's Dune books hand-to-hand fighting is important, due to various contrived reasons.

It would be interesting to speculate as to why this is so. Probably has something to so with the stories being rooted in basic swash-buckling style heroic adventure, so shooting from a distance just feels less personal and satisfying after a while. Something like that, maybe.

Anyway, spoiler text...

Here's hoping the Miranda vs. Kai Leng fight becomes a cut scene in the final product. Could be really awesome.

Especially if they fight hand-to-hand :P

Kai Leng's trademark weapon is a knife while Shepard now has an omniblade. You can see it coming from a mile way.

Anyway, on the spirit of Ashley's armor being revealed, here is Miranda's casual outfit in ME3:

This is not fair at all...

I was depressed because I wasn't going to get Wrex as a squadmate in ME 2.

And now I have to be depressed because I'm not going to get Miranda as a squadmate in ME 3 ?

I try to be as fair as I can with Bioware, but they really screwed it up this time.

I can only hope this silence we're getting about Yvonne Strahovski she's doing the deals for a possible Miranda DLC or something, I could be satisfied with that !
