Well Miranda was the leader or director of the Lazarus cells and they appear to be the army version of a fleet or division with T.I.M as its leader like with any army.

And Jacob was the leader of protection on project Lazarus like the second in command in a army group.

Sorry if I spelled words wrong.

Just rewatched G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and I dunno why but I kept seeing Miranda as Rachel Nichols.

I'd love to see Miri do what Rachel did in G.I. Joe in ME3.

Re: Cerberus ranks, doesn't Miranda say something about preserving Alliance command structure to the extent possible? (To ease the transition for the disgruntled Alliance soldiers that turn to Cerberus, presumably.)

I don't recall her saying that.

Also, don't Miranda and Jacob have different class names that sort of suggest a hierarchy? What they are slip my mind.

Operative and Officer.  Which may be the only two ranks they have.

@Draco Night:
Miranda says Cerberus is very informal - they don't like to get bogged down in formalities or bureaucracies. I think they create structures as needed, for instance for a research project with several research groups there would be the cell leader, the heads of the research groups and the rest, but that would last only as long as the project. Similarly, Jacob was the head of security on Lazarus station, so he had a few people under his command, but there wouldn't have been any permanent ranks.

@Joseph Ducreux:
As a Miranda parallel, I'd rather choose the Baroness.

Bad idea. The Baroness was mind controlled, remember?

I actually don't know about the story, just about some of the characters. Also, see this trope which appears to be named for her (see the picture) and lists Miranda. The description fits, too. Then I looked up her wikipedia entry, and yes, there are definite parallels with Miranda.

I think the analogy between the Baroness and Miranda could work when she was still human (though I'm not sure about that, I don't remember her story). Anyway, she wasn't indoctr.... I mean, mind-controlled, she became an abomination.

Besides the final game of the series what other types of official media or EU would you like to see Miranda in?

It's not something I've seen discussed often. There was mention of a year-one comic a while ago. But I'm thinking no. Mac Walters is not my favorite writer.

I think it's more that Miranda's modus operandi is not compatible to the kind of over-the-topness usually prevalent in comics. As for Mac Walters, I don't think he'd do badly for Miranda. At least he's capable of subtlety, as opposed to another ME writer I could name.

But a comic isn't what I'd want first. Miranda needs her own game, an "Alpha Protocol meets Mass Effect" kind of game. And I'd like her to appear in a novel, but only if it's written by George R.R.Martin. :lol:

Don't you mean NOT written by Martin? She'd suffer for 800 pages, then die. Though the Mr. Lawson in my head borrows a bit from Tywin.

He's capable of writing "grey" characters like no other. His reputation for killing important characters is overrated. Recall Daenerys' or Jon's story so far? Sure, they had their hard times, but it was hardly comprised only of suffering.

Agreed about Tywin. Mr. Lawson gives off similar vibes from how Miranda talks about him.

(I should also mention that I've read almost everything GRRM has written since "A Song For Lya" of 1972, except his "Wild Card" novels. My impression of his writing is not exclusively formed by A Song of Ice and Fire)

Sorry, Ieldra. I had to give up midway through Clash of Kings. Too dark for me. I understand war is horrible, but there was just too much rape and child abuse.

And now I'm envisioning Miranda as a cross of Jaime, Ceresi, and Tyrion.

Miranda is more like Melisandre, IMO. Ruthless and manipulative to be sure. But she is genuinely trying to protect the world from the Other.
Hell, the priests of R'hllor even have the power to bring people back to life.

Alright, first time ever I didn't have Shepard talk Miranda into meeting Oriana and actually went with it, instead of desperately reloading as soon as possible. I feel like a monster.

That helps somewhat.

How's about we get some Miranda related questions ready for Mr. Walters?

If there was ever going to be a comic with Miranda I'd want it to be written by Ed Brubaker. His interpretation of the Black Widow is as close as I've seen to a character who is like Miranda, but isn't Miranda (if that makes any sense).

When it comes to novels I'd really like to see a ME story told by Timothy Zahn. If I was restricted to just Bioware writers I'd like to see what would happen if David Gaider or some of the other DA writers got a hold of Mass Effect.

Here's a non-spoilery one: is Miranda redesigned in  ME3? Does she have a new outfit?

I'd absolutely LOVE to see what her re-design if any, especially how her hair will flow more naturally then stuck on to her neck when she turns. She has a beautiful hair style that I hope is improved upon! I wouldn't mind her being in something like that red and white outfit but instead black and white? Maybe?

I think both of these are definitely worth asking Image IPB

Hard to avoid questions that presume knowledge of the leaked script at this point, but basically what we are asking for is any Miranda news he feels he can give us.

So... I'll probably just ask that, essentially, and see if he's feeling generous Image IPB
