Well, I think JB mostly just meant that the relationship would have to be reconfirmed/restarted at that point, as they hadn't been together long, and then they were apart for awhile. Just a "it's been six months, are you still up for this?" kind of thing.

Miri's beautiful face almost made me lose track of what I was doing. I doesn't help that I'm also seeing Yvonne as Sarah Walker in Chuck right now.

This is a reasonable conclusion. I could agree with this.

You know, I think you could divide the fanbase into those who hated Miranda for that and those for whom the reaction was "Marry me?"

In other news, my canonShep is finally done with ME1. May he have a happy relationship with Ms. Lawson. He saved Ash so things could get interesting later. Real shame about Wrex. He ran out of omni-gel just before he unlocked the safe  containing the family armor:whistle:Anybody want to see screens of Matt and Miranda.

Eh, Matt's single. Ash is his type, but I'd feel disloyal if he ended up with anyone but Miranda. And probably have to deal with a lych mob. Doesn't mean Ash and Miranda don't have other reasons to hate each other.

She did lost some of that quality after Freedom's Progress, but quite frankly, if she had kept on being an Ice Queen then a lot more people would've hated her, sadly.

Shepard earned her respect and regard. She can still be as Icy as when he meets her for the first time, just side with Jack.

Miranda to me doesn't fall under the Defrosting Ice Queen trope, Shepard just gets placed into the "People Miranda cares about" circle alongside Oriana and to a lesser extent Jacob. She's still has the icy part of her personality especially with her line "Not even remotely" if you side with Jack. That line scares the hell out of me.

Oh yeah, that line sends shivers down my spine. So much more intimidating than anything Harbinger ever said.
That's right, Miranda can be scarier than a Dreadnought-class Reaper.

I have come to the conclusion, that even though the Miranda thread is the one with the most pages (although i'm not sure with most posters), the Miranda fanbase is very light... meaning in terms of reaction. Otherwise i can not understand Bioware's reaction up till this point concerning any "news" or confirmations for Miranda (and by reaction i mean the lack thereof).

If a company like Bioware was afraid that it might have upset a large portion of their fanbase, there would have been some sort of attempt at a form of damage control. And up till now i've seen none whatsoever. So they either they do not believe that we are upset (about anything) or they do not consider us a large portion of their fanbase.

For example if they had received some cancellations in pre orders, or messages that no order was to be made until Miranda's presence (and by presence i mean a comment on her presence and confirmation of VA) was clarified, there was no way that someone from Bioware wouldn't have made a "damage control" comment. Apparently that (for whatever reason) is not needed.

And as i was discussing with another (also Miranda fan) about the lack of info on Strahovski's recording or not, i came to the conclusion that either she recorded but her role is so small that it would feel ridiculous for them to mention it, or (more probably) she did not record and they don't want to mention the fact that they used a different VA, out of fear of the negative response. So they postpone it until they can hide it no longer (which of course is after the release of the game).

Count me among the "marry me" group. Though she didn't have a good response to Shepard's "Now you can't interrogate him". "Too dangerous?" As if she couldn't contain someone like Wilson. Some writer didn't think a lot about this.

Of course we'd like to see screens.

Remember Garrus in ME2? There was absolutely nothing about him until two months or so before release, IIRC. And what do you mean "light in reaction"? Players dedicated enough to one character that they raise hell about how they're treated are a very small minority. For any character. Even more so players so dedicated to one character that they'd cancel pre-orders because of that. Even more so players who do that and tell Bioware about it.

When the script was leaked, there were about four week to react to them - too little time to add anything major. And even one added scene would count as major at that point. What Ray Muzyka said - that the story may change - was more to keep appreciation up than anything else, if you ask me. There won't be any significant changes from that which was planned anyway. If we see significant changes between the final game and the leaked script, 95% of that will have been planned anyway instead of put in after the leak.

I think you attach too much significance to this. The way things are revealed or not, too, is very likely how it was planned anyway. If anything, after the leak I'd expect Bioware to be even more tight-lipped than they'd otherwise be. It means exactly *nothing*.

Well, I don't think you can read her as not having deep feelings after the promise scene. It's Shepard I doubt here. Beyond that, I'm not interested in a relationship where the basis is Miranda needing Shepard. What attracted me was the fact that I didn't need to be her savior or protector. Her having a professional life beyond Shepard is attractive and I hope she keeps her cause, even if she must part ways with Cerberus.

I can only imagine the dinner conversation should Miranda choose to become The Illusive Woman:

Shepard: You should tell Hephaestus Cell to keep a lower profile.

Miranda: The Council's breathing down your neck again?

Shepard: They're talking about a seek-and-destroy mission. After what happened last time I really don't want to blow up another complex.

Miranda: (smirks) It would appear that you have a conflict of interest Commander Shepard.

Shepard: Yes, but I love my conflict of interest.

That last line is great. LOL. And Insider information from both sides. This Shepard must be one of the best-informed people in the after-the-Reapers galaxy.

@jtav:
Not for the first time, I'm thinking that keeping the Collector base may be the best decision for Miranda's story arc, Why did you reconsider?

It's that long silence before she says it that really does it. Or maybe it's how she sounds about a million miles away. Or the way she bites off each word. It adds up to her sounding like she's going to stay mad at you forever. Ten minutes of solid cursing from Jack would feel better than those three words, even objectively.

Also great banner, I think that's your best one yet.

I confess to liking her stone-cold-killer face (after she's just capped Wilson) even better.

Can someone please help remind me where this happens in the game?  I saw the note about Freedom's Progress but don't remember where specifically.

@ieldra I did not mean that Bioware would change what they already planned. But acknowledgment of some form. I mean, when the script was leaked, everyone in here was very upset, and from Bioware there was nothing. Not even an effort at damage control. Not even a "wait and see guys, you will be rewarded at the end" (even if they knew it would be bull.).

What i mean is that they haven't felt the need up till now to even remotely acknowledge any worries that this fanbase might have.

That's not the same tratment tha other characters get.

As for the significance of the no comment in regards to the VA, i'm not sure myself. I'm just speculating. It's just that right now, it's the only reasoning that makes sense to me. I mean the confirmation that Strahovski actually recorded, would only bring positive things from them and none negative whatsoever (like it would for any revelation of Miranda's role). So the fact that they have not even twitted a comment like that, is not logical to me, unless she has not recorded and they don't want to mention it. I hope i'm wrong on this... but, anyway...

Hello, everyone!  I recently tried out JeanLuc's high res Miranda mod, and I think it's amazing. I took screenshots of Miranda and I would love to share them with you guys. They're not "new", based on what I've seen in this thread, but I still hope you like them!

(Sorry, Jacob looks off in this one. Also, I tried to make the image look less yellow-y but the color inside that Freedom's Progress building was hard to work with; this was the best I could do.)

Because it's what Matt would do. Between Akuze and Teltin (which he took personally) he has no love for TIM. And after the delrelict Reaper, he doesn't trust them. Actually, what I'd like to have him do is blow the place up and send salvage teams from every corner of the galaxy to have a look. Salvage from destroyed Reaper tech has a much better track record of producing something useful (Thanix, EDI). It's sheer contrianess that keeps the base intact. BW wants ME3 to be Miranda's redemption story. I don't.
