I have come to the conclusion, that even though the Miranda thread is the one with the most pages (although i'm not sure with most posters), the Miranda fanbase is very light... meaning in terms of reaction. Otherwise i can not understand Bioware's reaction up till this point concerning any "news" or confirmations for Miranda (and by reaction i mean the lack thereof).
If a company like Bioware was afraid that it might have upset a large portion of their fanbase, there would have been some sort of attempt at a form of damage control. And up till now i've seen none whatsoever. So they either they do not believe that we are upset (about anything) or they do not consider us a large portion of their fanbase.
For example if they had received some cancellations in pre orders, or messages that no order was to be made until Miranda's presence (and by presence i mean a comment on her presence and confirmation of VA) was clarified, there was no way that someone from Bioware wouldn't have made a "damage control" comment. Apparently that (for whatever reason) is not needed.
And as i was discussing with another (also Miranda fan) about the lack of info on Strahovski's recording or not, i came to the conclusion that either she recorded but her role is so small that it would feel ridiculous for them to mention it, or (more probably) she did not record and they don't want to mention the fact that they used a different VA, out of fear of the negative response. So they postpone it until they can hide it no longer (which of course is after the release of the game).
http://social.bioware.com/group/5254/Going by the group's population, I'd say there are a decent amount of Miranda supporters (For a game website anyways), and it's still growing. That number would grow exponentially if it had EVERYONE who liked Miranda, on site and off.
Edit: It seems the group I linked is also one of the largest character support groups regarding ME.
