And some of us don't. We just don't find them attractive or would be interested in looking at them in that way, period.

I mean, Liara is blue, and she has tentacles instead of hair. Otherwise she's exactly like an extremely good-looking human. *shrug*

I've got nothing against aliens, but Talimancers did make me dislike quarians as a whole. But we've yet to see anyother females besides them and asari. I've gone with Liara before, but was spurned by Samara. Thane was ok, but too emotional too quickly and scared me off. Garus looked too much like a cricket for Femshep to get that intimate with him. Mordin would have been an interesting pick, or Grunt or Wrex. Wouldn't mind seeing a female Drell or Turian in ME3.
Xenophilia isn't that odd though, especiaqlly considering that the xenophilia in this game would be py aliens that could just be poeple in kinky looking costumes. Now if Femshep starting romancing a hanar... Well... I'll leave you to your imaginations on that one.

Hmm. For me there can be only one. Anyone else subscribe to that? I'm doing different playthroughs based on different LIs but always the same Shepard. And I've only been able to not romance Miranda once thus far (basically only by not going anywhere near her).
*I did create a female Shepard I might get through at some point. Hope no one's holding their breaths for that one though...
Same here. I always use the same FemShep (for playthroughs or stories) and she's a one-person gal, but she has been paired up with a few different people. I square this circle by saying it happens in different quantum realities.

Otherwise yeah the fencing really fits eh? I imagine she does it purely for sport but is good enough to do some damage with it if need be.

It does. I think it's the combination of it being violent to an extent, but very precise and refined, combined with the fact that it has a somewhat... aristocratic quality to it.

Edit:
From what flemm said, maybe it's because its not as "violent" as the saber - it requires more precision since you can only hit your opponent with the tip of the sword, plus it's harder to use than the foil since you're not just protecting your torso anymore. (Hmm, I just realized I didn't make any sense.)

What's a hobby she might have that's completely unrelated to her professional aspirations? They say everyone's got one...
Music. From performing to composing. Fencing and Martial Arts seem plausible too.

That is not good. She couldn't have voiced Miranda during the last few weeks, and we know the VA recording is over.

Rapier. And yes, fencing fits her perfectly. I imagine she took it up when she was younger, possibly one of the few things she liked her father didn't disapprove of. And it may have served to train her superior coordination.jtav wrote...
Fencing's even better, actually. Foil, epee, or saber?

I hate the species concept of the asari. Mostly for that completely ridiculous omnisexuality. While that doesn't mean I can't like individual asari, I dislike shipping Miranda with Liara.CrutchCricket wrote...
Obviously to each their own. I personally like the concept of asari but I still go for Miranda. The individual matters more.

I have eight. There's some difficulty in giving the maleSheps who aren't Cyrus a distinctive personality, but the four femSheps are very different.CrutchCricket wrote...

I love that scene. As for Miranda - there is a certain important fight in ME3 where I would like to see her fighting hand-to-hand. Biotically enhanced of course.Dr. Doctor wrote...
This discussion about Miranda fencing makes me wonder if the Omni-Blade will be available to NPC's. I can sort of picture Miranda going Syrio Forel on a bunch of Cerberus Troopers if she does fence

I am sure it's been noticed already... but Strahovski has broken her silence and posted on twitter that she was on vacation in French Polynesia... probably since the wrap-up of Chuck on Dec 9.

Well, it's not really good or bad. We've known for a while that Strahovski either did the VA work for Miranda earlier this fall, while Chuck was still being filmed, or she didn't do it.
The total silence on the subject is certainly disconcerting to a point, but it won't really be possible to conclude anything until the VA list is announced.
According to some posters on the forums, Strahovski did her original VA work for ME2 while Chuck was being filmed as well, and also rather late in the game. So, it may just be same ol', same ol' from that point of view.

I agree. Miranda's enhanced reflexes and eysight might make her a good shot, but seeing those abilities applied in close combat would be rather impressive.

If --and thats a big if-- Yvonne didn't voice Miranda, I at least hope they got someone to keep her natural accent. I don't know if its because I'm from the U.S., but Australians, New Zealanders and South African's have some of the most enchanting accents in the English language, especially when they're spoken with eloquence.
I would miss the accent a lot, I think, and the voice generally speaking. Oh well, I guess we'll cross that bridge later on if it turns out to be necessary.
