Something I don't think we've discussed:

Why doesn't Miranda have younger sisters besides Oriana? Okay, for the first few years Lawson was unwilling to give up hope of recovering Oriana. But Oriana herself was a replacement for runaway Miranda. After a point, he had to realize he couldn't mold her as he saw fit and has no problems starting from scratch, Why didn't he?

Who says he didn't? I find it very likely that Miranda has more sisters.

@ Joseph, Katie

Wtf would Miranda use a rapier in combat? I think they mean as a recreational sport. And the benefits from practicing the sport overlapping into a real life combat situation. For instance fencers have excellent hand-eye coordination and a sharp and focused mind.

I'm sure they don't mean she'd break out a sword in the middle of a firefight and go all Zorro on a Cerberus Guardian.

I would pay money to see this.

Older, perhaps. But I find younger sisters beyond Oriana unlikely. She would have mentioned them.

Considering that Mr. Lawson is the classic narcissist, doesn't anyone find it odd that he didn't try to make a son rather than a daughter?

Not necessarily. She might not know about them. No need to repeat the mistake that was letting Miranda know about Oriana.

I'm not really a fan of the idea of seeing more Miranda clones. I'd rather they end the operation before any more awaken.

Edit: Good point android. Now I'm actually wondering why he didn't do that from start?

Because he wants a dynasty, and it's much easier to control whether your daughter carries a child to term than whether your son impregnates someone.

But if one is so egotistical to consider themselves the template for human perfection, its logical to mold the actual perfect human after himself. But having Miri doesn't make more sense than having a son. He still would need to control the other parent to ensure the child meets his standards.

Honestly, having Miranda or Oriana led me to believe that he only came so far, and wanted to use his daughter(s) as a vessel to bring his real "perfect" human. He'd most likely do that with another test tube baby made from his own material. Gross, I know.

Mr. Lawson is just f*cked in the head.

Simple.

Hmm... disturbing line of thought.
Lawson was/is working on a "male prototype". The best way to secure a dynasty would be to control both sides of the equation, male and female. However for reasons unknown (or only his assumptions) the male is easier to create/control and he needs to perfect the female before uh... "initiating".
This reminds me of Devil's Advocate (film) actually...

And just to take the disturbing up to 11, the male could just be a slightly improved clone of himself... I don't blame anyone that chooses to spend the rest of the day in the shower.

Oh, I've done worse. I figured he intended himself as the father, Lazarus Long style. After reading the leak, I no longer believe or want that to be true. I could no longer take him seriously as a villain.

Can you say why you no longer take him seriously, without spoilers? If not that's cool.

Some of us have theorized that he would go even further and Miranda and Oriana were actually meant to carry his children.

Now I'm wondering what happens after. Even if Lawson gets his perfect clones producing perfect "grandchildren" then what? Wouldn't the grandchildren be even more likely to rebel? Or is he planning a Mass Effect version of consciousness transfer Palpatine-style? I'm having a hard time picturing just where his legacy is supposed to go.

No, I would no longer take him seriously if he were also planning to rape his daughters after some stuff revealed in the leak. Overkill.

He could plausibly pull that of using Grey Box technology.

The creation of a genetic aristocracy. A "purebred" master race.

I'm now reminded of the conversation between Keanu and Pacino on the train, "and she was lying there she just got f*cked by the trojan army, and its just me. Little old me."

So to wash the creepiness off of this topic, here's some cool pics from deviant art.

If that even happens in ME3, I'll be glad if there's the option to slowly torture him before his death. But I hope that this (the intention of raping his daughters) will not happen.
Btw, could you PM with that stuff you're talking about? I remember Miranda's part in ME3, but I don't know the details.

Devil's Advocate is one of my favoriate movies  and one of Pacino's best... its good because it creeps you the hell out  and the negative feeling puts you the viewer in a place where you start question things. It would be great to some of the kind  of story telling in games... not all games but some.   I think one of the failings of  Mass Effect 2 and one of  Bioware short comings as far story telling is that they tell rather than show  and the supporting cast is not a supporting cast  but more set peices to make the main character more awesome.    Miranda  as character is almost the perfect to have her sidestory and her history  tie in the overall conflct with the  Reapers. Between her closeness to TIM and her fathers Empire it almost  all falls in the place.

On the subject of Mr. Lawson I sort of imagine him being like Lionel Luthor from Smallville.

Oh Lionel... so evil.  Though I would love if Mirand  had a moment like Zuko had with Ozai. I like because it goes against what most would think some like Zuko...instead lashing out the speaks mind, does not fall for the  his father pushing his buttons and walks away.

To see a scene  with that  kinda of tone for Miranda  would pure awesome for me at least..

The scene

theres not video just audio and the sound is aight

He's really planning this?

I'm all for mature story telling (They've been doing it for 2 games so far), but a subplot with incestuous undertones is almost pushing the lines of taste.

For, now, we have no informations that would lead to that conclusion. It's only a (hopefully wrong) speculation.
