I'm not 100% sure on the rendering process for cutscenes, dialogue, and overall character inclusion, but I'm fairly certain that what we got in the leak in what we're gonna get come march. That being the case, they've squandered the better end of their characters, quite needlessly. And then gave immunity to characters they clearly cared much less about in ME2. One an when you consider the dialogue alone, any one ME2 character was given more time and back story than just about anyone on the SR1. If the purpose if LOTSB was to showcase the style of. Chapters they were saving for the ME2 cast, then I think that's great but it doesn't mean they should all have been cast aside.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't ME2 do better in terms of sales, reviews, awards and the overall fanbase than its predecessors? If that's the case, and the line up in ME3 was purely a logical business move, wouldn't it make more sense to listen to that fan base a bit more?
Also, I still think the leak was a plant to test the fan base's reactions.

I dunno. He's really well-liked by fans of the original game especially, but never really featured prominently in the marketting as Miranda and Liara have been.
If we're speaking Mass Effect pop culture though. Wrex destroys Miranda in popularity. Marketing Miranda will win due to her being the female lead of Mass Effect 2. However in fanart, blogs, forums, etc Wrex is far more popular and better received imo.
Wrex with a top hat all over arguements are invalid

Reviews and awards, sure. Not sure on overall fanbase, and probably not so much more in terms of sales, withouth considering the PS3 part of the sales.

That is completely feesable matter of fact that was my guess from start you like how the new Iphone just HAPPENS to get out the apple corporate HQ and left in a bar... yeah aight.
As far the ME 2 Cast yeah its looking like the just threw alot out... I would say yes but than look at characters like Samara and Jacob... two the lest popular. I'm firm believer that if you put a character into cast they should have some kind purpose even it its just to be part of the Red Shirt army. Yet what was Jacob purpose in the cast other human male love interest to replace Kaiden. Thats how I think Bioware may have looked at this and if that is case that is not a good way of story telling but as always we shall see on March 6th

I kid. Seriously, Garrus has distinctive blue markings on his face, half of which is scarred, and a much "paler" countenance.
His armor is also very different from the one that turian is wearing.

Well, perhaps he got a touch up? Jack, Ashley, Kaidan, and I think Liara had a few tweaks to their looks. Considering that Garrus will be a permanent squad mate, it's not too crazy to assume he got a little touch up here and there.

I don't think that a person that have played ME or ME2 could confuse that Turian for Garrus.

This turian looks nothing like him

Therefore, I question the validity of any information from that article.

Don't be surprised if you guys see the headline 'Former U.S. Army Ranger goes on a berserk killing spree in Downtown L.A. Office Building; Kills 50' a week after ME3 comes out.
P.S. This is not a prophecy. I ain't no prophet.

Well, forums, blogs, marketting, the game itself, etc.... that's all part of pop culture. The question was who was most famous, not which had the larger cult following on fan forums.
Also, I'm not really sure about that second part. Miranda fan group here is 1700 or so members. Deviant Art has a very healthy Miranda group, not sure about Wrex, I guess the Krogan one? So, again, I dunno. Thane, for example, seems like he draws a lot of attention in the fanart department. If anything, that type of metric probably makes characters like Mordin and Wrex seem less popular than they really are, due to the LI characters getting more attention.
Miranda is probably more divisive than most of the popular characters, due to the Cerberus connection and other things, certainly moreso than Wrex, who is an easy-to-like bromance type of character. But that is a separate issue.

And to the devs... having the Cerberus logo removed from the catsuit does not count as a "redesign".

You sure? I thought they said every character gets re-designed. I hope Miri gets some armour like that DLC and they should fix her face. It looks a bit off from some angles.naledgeborn wrote...
Hate to incite more doomsaying, but it also looks like Miranda WON'T be getting a redesign for ME3. Not a completely solid piece of information, but very likely given that Jack is the only Mass Effect 2 character in the upcoming art book with a new look.

Basically, no, there's no way to be sure, there's an art book coming out with some concepts, and Jack's redesign is the only one to be featured there among the ME2 characters.

hmmm. I would have looked forward to some kind of new armor, but since it looks like she won't be a squadmember anyway, it doesn't really matter.naledgeborn wrote...

Eitherway, she will make an appearence in Mass Effect 3 and with her Cerberus outift she would look weird on the Alliance-Normandy. A redesign is essential here.

Thats a good thing, a very good thing. I miss Jack's shaved head... Miranda looked good throughout ME2, no need to redesign her. She just needs a new outfit or uniform for her mission.

Some formfitting armor like Scarlett from G.I. Joe would be nice. Miri's DLC armor is just too clunky.

Ok just to be clear...are we assuming she is not getting a re-design because she isn't featured in an art-book which is being released before the game? Are there any other ME2 characters showed in this book with or without redesigns? Could this just be Bioware not showing new redesigns of ME3 characters to not ruin the surprise in the actual game?
All we've seen from the art book is in the Collector's Edition video. But there's also no need to assume she'll get a redesing since there's been no mention of it. there have been 4 offical redesigns, Jack, Kaidan, Ashley and Femshep, and we've seen them all and they've all been officially announced.
