Meh... I think it was a lighting issue which is supposed to be fixed this time around.

That too.

Edit: Top post, so pic time.

It's not just one moment. The problem is her attractiveness depends on having the right lighting. When it's good, I find her better looking than Strahovski.Like so:

Good point, but I'm not seeing any reason to redesign Miranda. Then again I'm not seeing any reason to redesign any of them to be honest.

Really? She doesn't do Yvonne Strahovski justice, truly.

She looks good at times, but at the very least they need to do something about her hair. It's a ridiculous looking style.

She was paler than I think they intended her to be, most of the time, as well. Aside from that, who knows what else they might do?

Nor does any computer rendering of anyone's face used for a video game. Thats the unfortunate side effect of the scanning process thus far.  I don't think it'll come as a shock, but I think Jack had the best rendered and easily the most emotive face in the series and arguably in gaming as a whole. Maybe that's the key to making a good 3-d face, start from scratch. But I digress, just because she isnt adead ringer for Yvonne doesn't mean she''s poorly rendered.

Miranda can either look really good or fall into the uncanny valley depending upon the lighting. The 2010 version of the UT3 engine introduced a new shadow system, on the 360 and the PC especially the shadowing can really make certain characters look unnatural. This of course is a glitch that should be worked out in ME3.

Yes there's times where Miranda looks absolutely stunning (especially in her black uniform) and other times where I just cringe.

I'm actually very satisfied with Jack's role, and it's something I've seen mentioned as a possible future for her on numerous occasions when I've lurked in her support thread. Miranda's role doesn't satisfy at present, but the end is completely missing as is at least one other absolutely critical scene. So, perhaps we should hold off the torches and pitchforks until we play the game?

Good idea :D but still, there are a few things which leave me cynical regarding the leak .

When it comes to gaming and story leaks, I've come to learn to always be negative until proven otherwise.

Hell, when it comes to... Anything I'm otherwise looking forward to, I've learned to always be negative unless proven otherwise.

Also this. Miranda is already the prettiest female character in the series. I'm concerned they could actually mess up her image with a drastic redesign.

Agreed. My strategy right now is to low-ball my expectations for Miranda and of Mass Effect 3 as a whole and then, hopefully, be pleasantly surprised.

I'm not as concerned about the leak. Story and dialogue are an important component in an RPG, but its still just that a component. If the game's story doesn't deliver then its a disappointment, but if the gameplay isn't good then there's no real reason to play the game.

I'm still working out how exactly my squad's going to function without Miranda in it. The Cerberus Officer/Tactician buffs that she gives the squad are really handy and as it stands now we don't really have a Sentinel-style squadmate who can do anything close to that.

In ME2 she was arguably the most useful squadmate for penetrating shields/barriers/armor, since Warp + Overload counter all 3.

I guess we can't have nice things.

I don't think, a redisign is necessary, I mean how can they make her look prettier ? I would be glad if they change her suit ( something non-Cerberus related ) and fix the light glitch .

I support this.

No need for a harsh redesign, just change her suit to something that looks similar (not the same) without Cerberus logo. A complete redesign wouldn't make sense. Ashley and Jack had a good reason to change completely, while Ash became a spectre and Jack got her personality changed completely, Miranda has really nothing to change for.

Hey friends I am trying to write a Shep/Miranda fan fic but having trouble figuring out the best back story. Since the audience will largely be the people reading this forum, maybe I'll ask you guys for input. What would you like to see a backstory of regarding these two variables:
Arrival mission: before or after? After basically makes them fugitives.
Collector base: keep or blow up?

After; keep.

Seconded.

Roger, I'll go this route.  Also because I am VERY curious to get Leldra's input on it, she seems to be one of the foremost Miranda experts.  Also, it appears keeping the Collector Base is part of what Bioware considers canon as evidenced by the Retribution and Invasion official stories.  So between that and what we know from the leak, we have to go from Shepard giving Cerberus what they want and Miranda not quitting to Cerberus wanting to kill Shepard and Miranda having left them.  Interesting turn.
The biggest controversial decision from ME2 was to keep the Collector base or not.  I hope Bioware doesn't brush over that in ME3 like I'm expecting like they do with most other decisions, meaning if you kept it then Cerberus becomes indoctrinated because of it but if you blew it up then Cerberus becomes indoctrinated because they uncovered some "other" Reaper artifact.  Weak.

Bam! Third'd Fourth'd?

Miranda needs no change apart from fixing glitches with the face and hair (and hair tech is apparently confirmed already)

Rdubs: Bah. Canon is what you make in your game, always has been, always will be (or so they keep saying). That being said there does seem to be some indication that Cerberus ends up where it is regardless of what you do, thus invalidating that decision somewhat.

Destroy it. Miranda seems to lose faith in you if you keep it.

Definite relationship-destroyer right there.

Joseph I totally see what you're getting at, but I'm not 100% sure it would be a relationship-buster.  If you keep it she says something like "I hope what they get from it is worth it."   The way I'm rationalizing it is, I doubt Shepard would just resign that the only two options are blow the base or give it to Cerberus.  My guy is going to try a third option, one which I think Miranda would be more approving of.  Whether or not it works out though, that'll be in my fan fic, which I finally started writing.
Also, there is already another really good fan fic created with a post-Arrival/blow-the-base story, called "On the Run"
www.fanfiction.net/s/7398936/1/On_the_Run
It's a really good story, and a very logical path, and it would be hard to not cover some of the same ground.
