Well, I like the idea that Miranda's father's behavior is like an extreme form of tough love from his point of view. For one thing, it's one of the only things that really makes sense. If he's looking for an heir to preserve his legacy, then he wouldn't realistically want a docile slave.

So, he would be looking for someone who could overcome the emotional and physical suffering he inflicted. That would be part of the "creation process" so to speak. It also fits with the "Prodigal Daughter" idea, in passing, i.e. she was always meant to return one day, so Henry could say, "You are exactly what I wanted you to be, and what I designed you to be. Now kill me, or take over my empire. Or both."

Anyway, I think it works as a concept. Oriana would be another test-case, because he can't really know how Miranda will turn out, so he needs to keep working.

I love that image (too bad that it requires not romancing Miranda). You can see how much Miranda trust in Shepard on that pic.

I played the first part of ME2 again. I'm still amazed with finding stuff I didn't see before and wonder how on Earth I missed it. Did anyone else notice the data pad on the chairs when Shepard first meets and talks with Jacob? Fighting the mech's. I usually just talked with Jacob and left. Well, I was doing some video captures and found the data pad by accident. It was Wilson talking about how Miranda should lighten up about the Lazarus project being a success. He claims he was responsible for bringing Shepard back to life. Interesting...

Wilson is really bitter lol. That's actually similar to my experience of initially missing the datapad or console (or whatever) while coming up the stairs just prior to that, I believe it is, where Wilson refers to Miranda as the ice queen.

It's back behind where you are going, so not super obvious.

Well, I just noticed that my companion in SWTOR, voice is none other than the voice of "wilson" oh great! not really. I knew that voice was familar. I've also heard the voice actor who plays "Jack" in ME2 as a vendor and some random npc. Wow... Jennifer Hale voices a human republic... side. I might have noticed "Sky" from Jade Empire. I'm sorry I am terrible with the actors names behind these wonderful character. Except for the well known ones I like.

Jennifer Hale also voices Satele Shan - in her Shepard voice. Though it's appropiate considering she played Bastila Shan in the first KOTOR. Fun fact.

I'd like to see miranda as a permenant squad member but since its probably to late to do that they just took ashley and made her miranda look a like.

I understand your point. I don't like the image because it is the impression  that Miranda said Shepard "  I am at your service" I do not want to see a submissive miranda.
