Finally I hear something postive about the romance... thanks flemm:D

People were crap talking the romance? From what I've seen it was prettty well received, with no one really bashing it. At the least people say it was about halfway decent, at most people say it was a work of art.

Yes, there was a lot of dissapointment when someone discovered that she won't be a permanent squadmate, and that this will likely happen to most of the ME2 characters...

Anyway, I am glad to hear that at least the romance will be continueable.

THAT's perfectly understandable, I was  (And still sort of am) in the same boat. I was specifically referring to the romance.

I'm still disappointed that I can't have her in my permanent roster.
Miranda and Ashley on the same ship? In the same team? Either they both become friends one day - or give a great show while fighting. My money is on "friends".

Also things could be interesting if Miranda is romanced in ME2 and Ashley was your former LI - imagine them both being part of the same crew ... woah. The lover and the ex-lover working together. <3

I really want to tell Ash "I was DEAD. D.E.A.D. DEAD. Were you telling your friends you were dating a corpse?"

If she comes back with the "mostly dead" line, I might forgive her a bit, but when all is said and done, she broke faith on Horizon, and for a lot of my (male) Shep's, that's the clincher.:police:

It will. It appears that what they are trying to do is have a romance arc that basically runs throughout the game but involves Miranda showing up periodically, or Shep running into her, rather than her being on the Normandy.

Hard to tell how good the final product will be because, in the leaked script, it hits a certain point and just stops being coherent. It's blatantly unfinished, moreso than most of the rest of the script, and I think it's a bit hard to evaluate for that reason.

The early stuff is reasonably clear, and I like the tone of it.

So is this what they are really doing? Will this idea even work on paper/in game? I still want one of my canon for mr shepard and miranda to have a happy ending preferably where shepard and miranda go off in the sunset. Sure the happy ending where they leave into the sunset is a cheesy ending but that is one type of happy endings I like.

This shepard I'm talking about he hooked up with ashley but then cheated on ashley with miranda, I can imagine my shepard will be in trouble with both miranda and ashley especially for me being with ashley but hooked up with miranda.

Well, all I can really comment on is the leaked script that we have, which probably represents the state of the game around May or June, roughly. Grains of salt and everything. But, yes, it appears that it will work that way with Miranda specifically.

I have some questions about how that will function mechanically as well. That type of thing is really hard to speculate about based on the text files that we are sifting through. Dialog makes it seem like you have the option of committing to the Miranda romance early on, or opting out. But... not sure what the nuts and bolts of that would be.

This was inspired by Miranda's "We're all hoping you can achieve the impossible. No pressure" line, maybe someone gets the reference:

I readed a little the leaked stuff, I think the Miranda's relationship was unfinished. I so sad for that because for me this relationship was the better of the game.

Enough. Some people do find one or the other more attractive. And Miranda looks hideous in bad light.

Hey guys, just dropping in to say happy new year to all you Miranda fans! In terms of the romance, I think I want a cheesy ending where they ride off into the sunset too. Ride off on a wicked awesome spaceship that is. I can't decide which is more important to me, the romance arc or the side story arc. I think that if the romance arc is satisfying, I can forgive Bioware if they end up slightly dropping the ball with the Cerberus arc. Only time will tell I suppose.

Cerberus arc. For the romance to be enjoyable, I have to like and respect both parties. That means having my driven superspy back.

Well, I think the quality of both will be pretty interdependant, especially in the later stages.
So, I'm rooting for a scenario where I can like both Image IPB

That too, and I'm certainly not complaining that my reaction to the romance so far is  This was what I wanted from ME2. It's also interesting that Miranda's the romance that will have to be fought for rather than her being the default easy score,

Casablanca-esque. That's it, exactly. The war has driven them apart, physically, but they're closer emotionally. Miranda is this recurring figure whose story intersects with Shepard's but never quite touches, until the end. Shepard's love for, and trust in her is clear to see.

Miranda: (reloading SMG) We really should stop meeting like this!

Shepard: (lobbing a grenade) I agree!

Miranda: (slamming a Husk into the ground)  Honestly, it seems like every time I see you something inevitably ends up exploding!

Shepard: (notices the fight is over) What can I say, a part of my charm.

Miranda: (surveying the battlefield) Indeed it is. You know maybe one of these days we could go someplace nice for a change.

Shepard: We'll always have Paris.

Miranda: (rolls eyes) You've been dying to say that haven't you?

Well, it's a little less explode-y than that and more "two soldiers torn apart by war try to carve out time for themselves." Lots of stolen moments and clandestine phone calls. It also, amazingly, stretches through the whole game.

Anybody watch the latest episode of chuck? Anybody notice
the parallels with Miranda's family story?

SPOILERS (for Chuck)

Sarah (Yvonne) saves a baby from a ruthless dude who wishes
to exploit her yada yada and gives her a new life. Later she saves her yet
again and then finally introduces herself for the first time. She leaves the
baby to be raised by her own mother, thus making them sisters. Though it's not
exact, I couldn't help but chuckle to myself as I watched it. :D

I agree. While the Battle Couple trope is a staple of most BW games, I'm interested to see how things work out with having the ME2 LI's having their own adventures apart from Shepard.

The whole explode-y part of the banter was there to continue the running joke that appears in the beta and the leaked script. Everyone from Anderson to Mordin has at least one line that pokes fun at Shepard's proclivity towards destruction.

Entertaining dialog as always, by the way, Dr. Doctor Image IPB

There is actually one line early in the script that I can recall where Miranda jokes about that ... tendency a bit.

Something about, if she needs somebody to knock some doors down, she'll call Image IPB
