Miranda was supposed to be unloyal and Jack was supposed to survive, but I missed Jack's romance trigger, so Miranda got romanced and I'll be able to see how much difference Oriana makes.

Yeah, though apparently each character has a main writer who is responsable for that character's story. Mac Walters is the lead writer for the entire game, I think he reviews everything and writes certain key scenes involving other characters that are not his "main" responsability.

We know he wrote at least one scene involving Miranda because he tweeted about it. It seems likely that scene was the scene with *spoiler* daddy dearest . So... yeah.

No problem, though you might want to edit your post to remove the spoiler I had covered up in my original comment.

Not that it's a big deal, I think pretty much everyone has figured out by this point that that character is in the game, but whatever... for form's sake, might as well delete it.

I've got 5 Shepards and I used each one to influence different squaddies in different ways. One where Miranda is romanced, loyal and talks to Oriana, one where she's loyal but doesn't talk to her, and one where she's disloyal and talks to her sister. Did the same with Jack, Jacob, and pretty much everyone else. Hopefully the party interactions play out in an interesting enough way. Haven't read the leak, so I hope Miranda's involvement is fulfilling.

Yes, after Horizon and she initiates her LM, do it and send her to talk to her sister at the end, then have the follow-up conversation and ask her if she'll continue to communicate with Oriana. Then after you do Jack's LM pick Jack's side and then she'll be disloyal.

This time I'm RP-ing a Shepard who came back dead inside, except for the tiniest bit of affection for Jack. He used to be a Paragon, but Lazarus went screwy. I'm thinking Miranda and Jacob's missions will be skipped on the grounds that we're at war and he really doesn't have time or sympathy for daddy issues.

The thing I always do I space Jack and Miranda and Tali and Legion's LM a mission or two apart, so that way you can ensure that you can set the changes (flags) you want for the import file.

LOL I do the same thing. I either think of a back story before ME, try to figure out their mind set, or base them off of someone.

A clinical sociopath, or nearly so. He can't feel that human connection much. Maybe he'll get it back in ME3. But for now, he's neither more or less than a weapon.

I don't think they'd ever be "Good friends", their personalities conflict in too many respects.

I could however see them being associates or co-workers.

I think they conflict mainly because they aren't too different from one another, but each one monopolizes on being "different" and considering themselves above others and isolate themselves from those around them.

In another life they'd be ideal friends or even a couple, because they're ultimately searching for the same things, but for different reasons and with different methods.

Well said, I think that's pretty accurate. It's why I like both characters a lot. I'd really like a scene between them in ME3. But, whatever. The distant... kinship, I guess? is there regardless.
