Something that I didn't like from ME2 is that Liara didn't have any line to any character, even the ones she knows (Tali, Garrus and Miranda).

They would probably work well together, if there's no romantic connection to Shepard. I see them being quite civil with one another while working, but I don't see them doing much beyond that. Although, if Miranda wanted to, she could definitely talk Liara into anything she wanted. Alpha personality> Beta personality.

Well, banter of that sort was not a strong point of ME2 overall. It's a shame because the characters are individually so interesting for the most part. There's a dialog with Thane, I believe it is, where Shepard references meals in the mess hall, or something along those lines, where Thane mostly keeps to himself.

I remember thinking... I wish they had actually put a couple of those meals in the game. Could have potentially been hilarious.

Anyway, looks like they are trying to beef up the banter in ME3, so something Liara/Miranda-related seems fairly plausible.

Well, that sort of thing has been fixed. Ubfortunately, there's no Miranda banter in the script, but most of the rest of the temps are pretty chatty, so I'm assuming she will be as well.

I think so. I imagine banter and such could only really be added once everything else is finished (in a specific level, I mean).

I remember that if you invite Liara to visit the Normandy after doing the shadow broker mission, she talks about Miranda (only if Miri is your shepard's LI ). and since she ends the conversation saying something like: " I hope you two find hapiness together" I really think that BW is taking the Shepard-Miranda romance seriously = )

That can apply to any of the active romances, I believe, though, as I recall, what Liara says otherwise varies according to who it is. But anyway... the ME3 romance looks like it is going to be good.

*has quietly resumed shipping Liara/Miranda now that she's no longer furious at Liara for existing* Miranda's one of those characters that goes well with lots of people.

Edit: oups, sorry, misunderstood.

Liara/Miranda never would have occurred to me, personally, but I can see the compatability in your stories, anyway.

It makes sense when you cnonsider how "booksih" the two can be. After a common factor is established, its not difficult to imagine a little romantic situation taking place.

Well, it also lets me turn something I love about Miranda--tortured self-loathing that has her convinced she doesn't derserve to be happy mixed with fierce protectiveness--up to eleven. She maps nicely onto my favorite type of romance *hero* which is one reason I always rooted for s/s and continue to slash her.

Yeah, it's true. I think I've only read a couple of examples of jtav's Liara/Miranda fic (not sure how much there is), but it does play with the bookish, studious side of both characters, which makes it work. Also, there is a bit of Miranda's affinity for asari culture at work, as I recall.

I'm working on something else, actually. Basically, an ME3 retelling of Casablanca with Miranda as Rick, Liara as Ilsa, and Shep as Viktor. Please tell me that's not as stupid as it sounds.

So Miranda has been off somewhere doing whatever it is Miranda does, Liara arrives unwittingly and falls in love with her all over again, and Miranda sends her off with Shepard cuz he's the "safe" choice for her at the moment.

I've got to read it first.

It will be an interesting history and Do you think write a romantic history between Miranda and Kaidan?

I'm actually thinking about doing a playthrough of ME2 without doing Lair of the Shadow Broker. Judging from the leak if Shepard never goes on the mission Liara takes down the Broker by herself. That's quite the accomplishment and to me really sets up Liara as a stronger character than she was in Redemption.

If I was to ever think about doing Miranda/Liara I think that's the playthrough I would base it on.

I milk Miranda as third squadmate too much to do that. Actually, I milk LOTSB for all it's worth. Especially the part where the yahg wanted to recruit Miranda.

It would actually be hilarious if Miranda knew about that...

Talk about opportunities for amusing banter Image IPB

"to milk something" = to get the most out of it, to extract the most benefit from.

jtav just means she uses Miranda on the squad a lot Image IPB (I guess for LotSB specifically.)

I know.

That was just... My filthy mind at work.

For what it's worth, I use Miranda in almost every combat situation. Warp+Overload strips away every defence on their own. Plus I like her combat dialogue.
