The new female squad member.

As for Miranda, I can almost taste my dream scenario. It makes so much sense narratively and thematically with what;s been set up,

The only thing that upsets me about the squad is the complete lack of Sentinels if you don't save Kaidan and the existence of one character. I think the potential is there for Miranda, and I prefer hope to misery.

Agreed. I was hoping for squad of two Sentinels, while it seems on several playthroughs I'll have none.

I could quite agree.

Could you tell us? I remember that you liked the Foundation scenario in the OP (or maybe it was you that proposed it, I don't remember).
Or it is something else?

In retrospect, possibly nothing. I thought he was implying that our sci-fi pop culture references were skirting the line though.

What is your dream scenario?

Nah just with the insistent asking, I thought someone might slip or too many hints might be revealed. Nothing was revealed but I appreciate the courtesy Jeff

Miranda reforming Cerberus to be humanity's STG. I think we could get it, but it's all speculation based on what's absent, and various thematic things.

Similar to what I envision.

It's my best scenario, too. If Bioware will do this, it'll probably be one the best things in ME3 (though I'm still sad about the decision of Bioware to not make Cerberus the Renegade version of the Alliance in ME3, with the choice of siding with them), with another possibile outcome of certain squadmate/former squadmate subplots.

The Humanity's STG thing/Miranda taking over Cerberus/TIW, whatever you want to call it, has always made sense, which is why it always comes up.

Anyway, having seen so much of the story, and the first part of Miranda's role, I can honestly say... it still makes sense. More sense than anything else, really. And it's pretty clear how it would happen.

If it happened the right way, Miranda would definitey have a major role in the second half of the game, if alive, while basically having her own story throughout, and being in touch regularly from the beginning to the end of the game.

And she wouldn't even need to be on the squad for that. There's just one missing piece, basically. So, anyway, this is why I just don't think it makes sense to be too down about it now. It's just too plausible that it will end up being good.

I'm somewhat happy you can't side with Cerberus in ME3.

They were already made to be the comic book villains of the ME-verse.

I follow you on that one flemm .
We have a few clues which lead toward this dream scenario, indeed .
I'm pretty sure BW has given serious thoughts about it, I mean how couldn't they ? With Miranda's past with Cerberus and her role in ME3, it should be one of most the obvious scenarios for her if you are a writer in my opininion .
The good question is whether or not they made this come true . I certainly hope so, just like a lot of you .

Obvious.

The pertinent question is wether Bioware has decided that human advancement is always bad. Still dubious on that.

What does that mean? "Comic book villains"?

The onset of their intentions is so obviously "We're going to destroy them later", that it's reminiscent of villains written during the golden age of comic books.

Basically, just looking at them gives you the vibe of "Obvious, mustache twirling villain #622453"

Pointless, gratuitous, obvious evil.

I think we can hope. Much is made of Miranda's peculiar idealism and her need for challenge and stimulation for its own sake.

Yes.

Or if they manage to flesh out TIM a bit more, they could upgrade to "Saturday morning cartoon" villain.

I must admit I have no idea what happened in the golden age of comic books but, judging by the name, I would assume that it was actually good?
Anyway, I have read Cerberus' ultimate goal and it is sound. I am also aware of how they got this army, it is horrifying but not over the top.
Bioware just needs to come up with a good reason as to why Cerberus can't still be on our side and I can forgive them for making their commandos the main source of cannon fodder.
