Fun fact, and completely off topic...

Did anyone else here know that Shaq made a hip hop album?

Dear god NO ! ... don't not bring that back up..

especially not the Miranda theard...

Now If was going to say introduce Miranda to Hip Hop I  would have Shepard start with the Roots maybe a Little Lauren Hill.

Miranda: Remember the other day  you introduced to me to old  Music  gerne Hop..
Shepard: Hip Hop ?
Miranda: Yes... who  was this   Shaq  and was  his ablum and good.
Shepard:  Oh dear god ... it still lives hunderds of years later... I swear it had to be  Reaper.
Miranda: That bad?
Shepard:  Yes.... even  years later...yes. Wait  I thought you didn't like?
Mirianda: Like you it grew on me but  I ever ask to it make  clap ... I will remind painful  who brought back into  this world.
Shepard *gulp*

I've tried to think up ways for my ManShep to introduce hiphop to Miranda, but it always turned out lame.

I can't think of a good first song.

Any decent ideas?

Oddly enough   Emenim  Not Afraid which is the same song that  fits my shepard  in ME 3

This right I think would strike a cord with her about how she feels about her father.

You can try and read my lyrics off of this paper before I lay 'em

But you won't take the sting out these words before I say 'em

Cause ain't no way I'm let you stop me from causing mayhem

When I say 'em or do something I do it, I don't give a damn

What you think, I'm doing this for me,

If you had to choose cure Joker's Vrolik Syndrome or Miranda's infertility

what you would you choose?

PS: Lets assume that Miranda's infertility can't be cured by the 22th century medical marvels

Probably Joker, I guess. Miranda should be able to have children by other means anyway.

Of course, Joker might have an opinion. Or Miranda Image IPB

It's just interesting to ponder the brains behind character design. What drives the design of a beautiful-but-deadly female, a master of manipulation willing to use any and all means necessary to get what she wants? It's not necessarily an intentional malice towards women. It could be ingrained, subconscious. Or maybe it's something else entirely. I don't know. I've never really thought about it before.

It's interesting.

One other thing I think is worth pointing out is that the meaning of tropes can change over time.

For example, the femme fatale trope may have originally been related to the mysogynistic idea that women are the source/root of all evil and temptation, etc. But, I don't think it necessarily has to stay that way. For one thing, it seems like that's probably related to hang-ups about sex and the evil of a certain type of sexuality that we don't really have to share anymore. Along the same lines, the idea of a ruthless, sexy female who uses any means to get what she wants can have positive connotations that it might not have previously had.

*Mordin voice* Indeed.

I think it would be interesting for Miranda and co. to find out that her infertility was intentional, with some of the cancer cells implanted into her system (As counter productive it may be to her father), and she forces him at gunpoint to reverse it.

Cheesy, but interesting.

I think you should ask both parties whether they want to be cured first. Assuming this is so, Vrolik's.

Yeah, that's why I added that little addendum to my post. You're right, of course Image IPB

@jtav

I'd vote Miranda's infertility.

Mainly because I find Joker somewhat annoying.

Anybody have a passing familiarity with 90s animated Spider-Man? That version of Felicia reminds me of Miranda.

Fun fact, that version of the Black Cat is voiced by Jennifer Hale.

I don't know man Vrolik Syndrom is pretty f*cked up, i saw an documentary on that on Discovery, it seems like hell to live with that, but Joker seems to have accepted it so for the sake of lots of little Shepards i would probably choose Miranda

Vrolik's has a bigger impact, though. And that's also why I specified asking. You're changing someone's life in a very fundamental way. Joker especially would have a huge adjustment.

Mmm... I'll cure Vrolik. Joker needs some compensation after all the work he has done.

And Miranda already has what she needed, a man that will care for her his entire life.

Be careful...

I think not posting a pic on the top of page 1000 will not be allowed.

So... tread lightly Image IPB

very true but the over all message i think still rings true for in  her some light.  Till about the last verus  of course  you could  apply that last to  how she feels about  Oriana.

and now more fan art brought to you by deivantart.

That would be completely against the point of a 1000 page party.

I like that picture.

If Miranda were to be exposed to "Not Afraid", I wouldn't want her to be the one rapping it. Play it off a CD or an iPod (Omni-pod?)

lol page 999. This is like ringing in Y2K... actually I do have a fear that this thread will crash once it reaches pages 1000... mods can't count it or something.
Anyway bringing back the comic book discussion for a bit:
JB- I wanted to leave our disagreement over Galactus alone but I just want to point out that even if you don't find his powers appealing often it's the iteraction of other characters with him that makes it interesting. Furthermore that deus ex machina you refer to (the Ultimate Nullifier) can only be used once and destroys the user in the process. So not only is he unlikely to hit the "delete everything" button on it, he won't use it at all because he wants to survive above all else. Not that he typically needs something destroyed so completely. But he's not omnipotent or infallible (having been driven off by humans no less, on multiple occasions)

Also I don't see Miranda as Magneto at all. She just doesn't have that history of persecution. They do have some similar traits in ambition if nothing else.

Otherwise I stick by my notion that Lawson should look and act like Viktor from Underworld and be played in a similar fashion by Bill Nighy. Likely won't happen, but a man can dream. I saw someone post that he should look like the GMan. Here is Mass Effect's GMan:
Image IPB
Sorry for the joke 'shopping I didn't have a normal one uploaded and I didn't want to hotlink again. Incidentally this is the notion that started the Great Comic Book Derailment of the 900s

Edit: Regarding choosing which one to cure: Flip a coin. Really if it could only be one, I don't think I could make that decision or be properly justified in either choice. So let fate decide.
