Kaidan's story so far:

Kaidan Alenko is a human Sentinel and a Systems Alliance Marine. While serving aboard the SSV Normandy, he was a Staff Lieutenant and head of the ship's Marine detail. He also was an initial member of Commander Shepard's squad. Kaidan is a biotic wired with the controversial L2 implants, which are known to cause severe neurological damage to the user. However, he is fortunate enough to only suffer from occasional severe migraines. He is a possible romantic partner for a female Shepard.

Kaidan in Mass Effect 3:

Kaidan will return as a squad member in Mass Effect 3, provided he survived the events on Virmire in Mass Effect. If he did not, Ashley Williams will take his place in the squad.  By the time of the events of Mass Effect 3, Kaidan has become a Spectre.  During the opening sequence of the game, Kaidan assists in evacuating Shepard from Earth on-board the Normandy SR-2.

Raphael Sbarge is known for his roles in video games such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and is currently appearing in the ABC television show Once Upon A Time.  Kaidan fans have been very lucky to interact with Mr. Sbarge through Twitter, Facebook, and Jacqui of Fangeek.com.  See the Links section below for more information.

This is a thread for discussion of Kaidan Alenko's role in Mass Effect 3.  Please try to use this thread, rather than the thread in the ME1 & ME2 Character Discussion Forum linked below, for spoilers concerning Mass Effect 3.  I will update this OP with more info as we receive it, please be aware that this is going to be a spoiler friendly zone.  Let's try to make this a place to discuss the future of Kaidan's storyline, and keep the ME1 & ME2 Discussion Thread a spoiler free place to discuss his role in the first two games.

Edited to add:  Kaidan's role in Mass Effect 3 will inevitably involve romance, at least for some players.  Please be respectful of those who play their game differently than you, and leave your judgement and preconceptions at the door when entering this thread.  Be excellent to each other, and everything should be fine.  Thanks.

So this is a reminder that this forum (and thread) is rated PG, not PG-13 or M. This means we will not tolerate images or links containing explicit male or female nudity. Images of sex toys are similarly forbidden.

Secondly, please note that quoting such material is nearly as bad as posting it in the first place, as the offending image appears in a post you made and Moderators have to clean up yet another post. Cathleen here, I wrote Kaidan for ME3. I just received a fantastic package with notes from some of you. It is just amazing and I’m overwhelmed by your kind words and the fact that you would take the time to put that together for me.
 
I really enjoyed writing Kaidan’s arc. Naturally, I kind of had a crush on him in ME1 and so I was very excited when I was told that he was going to be my character to focus on for ME3. Also, the artists and Raphael make it super easy to watch his scenes multiple times while working on them.
 
Many of you mentioned that you liked Kaidan’s dialogue and plot on Mars but I can’t take credit for that. Mac Walters wrote Mars and created, I think, the perfect tone for Kaidan and Shepard’s reconnection and a great jumping off point for their story arc.
 
Also I have to give props to Sarah Hayward who was the cine designer for most of Kaidan’s scenes – so those smoldering looks are her handiwork.
 
And I loved all the carefully thought out ideas for Kaidan’s part in future DLC . All I can say is, we’ll see -- you and me both! Mostly I really loved to hear what parts of Kaidan’s story you found intriguing.
