lol - proof that once you've tweeted you can't truly retract it, someone will see! I guess even if it's not gold right at this immediate moment that it'll be very very soon (gotta give the printers time to make the discs for us!)
Not long now, demo about to land and we're less than one month from release! If Amazon are late with my preorder I'll be mighty displeased - half tempted to order a copy directly from Origin just in case it's late... I guess I could get it in hubby's name and get him roped in to multiplayer to justify the expense, not sure I'll be able to wait for the postman

(spacer origin) Does anyone know where Shep's mom is serving at around that time? Also if she survives, does anyone think we (and Kaidan) will ever get to meet her?
And also, I gave Mouse money so that he could go to earth!

Not sure if it's the same with all the backgrounds but Sheps parents died in mine. I'm pretty sure that's what she tells Kaidan in ME1 when talking about the Blitz.
Its been a while since I played so I could be wrong

it's the 13th here in Oz, I wonder, does this mean we get the demo on 15th due to timezone difference?
I would say so, I'd be very surprised if we (aussies) get it tomorrow! I originally wasn't going to play it but not I think I'll just do the escape from earth and play with the CC and MP of course ... But that is all!

There are three backgrouns. Spacer, Earth(orphaned or abandoned) and Colonist (orphaned in teen years). that's seperate from events (akuze, blitz)
If you choose the spacer background, your mom is an alliance marine, too. I forget what rank. You meet a friend of hers during one of the visits to the Citadel and during a conference call with her you can ask her if he really is a family friend or not. In ME2 she sends you an email asking why you never bothered telling her you were alive, and why she has to hear it from Anderson and not you or something like that. They offer her a promotion in between the events of ME1 and ME2 but she refuses it because they're just using the Shepard name for good PR.

Ninj'd!
I remember hearing in a news feed on ME2 in Ilium a story where Shep's mum had declined a promotion or something that was in honor of her daughter/son, can't remember the specifics though ... But I would say that means she's still alive for a spacer Shep, not sure about the dad though.

haha. Mouse was the duct-rat Thane knew from a while back. When questioning him you can intimidate him, persuade, or bribe him. I chose to bribe him because according to Thane, he always dreamed of seeing earth, the blue skies things he only knew of from fairy tales.
I was like, oh, he'll be safe on earth. Kelham's men will never find him there. Stupid stupid stupid.

It would be interesting if Shepard's father died in the invasion (like he was commanding the dreadnought that was destroyed in the demo) or in the attack on the citadel saving the Ascension.
Its funny how you never hear about Spacer-Shepard's dad. Only that Shepard comes from a long tradition of spacer family or something to that effect.
I do think its really sweet when mama Shep tells you she's proud of you when you make Spectre. I really hope she's not among the dead in the demo clips.

Bummed to hear that he's not a squadmate in the demo but still looking forward to it. And I've been tempted like crazy to watch the youtube videos but I want the full effect on the big screen. I figure if I can wait until the demo comes out tomorrow night it'll make waiting for game easier? Maybe? I have a feeling I'll be playing the demo nonstop until March 6....Pygmalin wrote...

3,000 credits to send Mouse to what we now know as certain doom... poor kid, it's like when my renegon got a bit mad with Conrad and he went off upset then I hear he's dead in a news announcement in the elevator. Damn these butterfly decisions resulting in the indirect death of peoples both innocent and not so innocent and all their consequences!
It's stuff like this that stop Bioware from ever wanting to do a follow up to ME3 - those guys must have one hell of a story map to keep up with the threads!

Why not? It's practice. I have the habit of aiming a little too far to the left, even when I'm relying on the crosshairs and I pause the game to shoot just right.

Haha! That reminds me. I read somewhere that the glitch that makes Conrad think you were a jerk, (even if you were nice in ME1) might be corrected in ME3.
One of my Sheps blew Conrad off at the illium bar and he was all "I'll show you! I'll SHOW you!" and then he died in a bus accident or something? *sigh* Good times.
Most of my Sheps were nice to him, though.
edit: Nice-ish. Yeah.

What the...I didn't know you could bribe Mouse. And Conrad can actually die?! How does the news announcement say he dies?
I always go the Paragon route with Conrad just because my Shep secretly likes that she has a fan, lol. I only wish Kaidan could have commented on it just like he comments when you meet that C-Sec officer. He says something like, "Looks like you've got a fan, Commander" or something like that. That line makes so much more sense with Conrad.
EDIT: Wow, I didn't know about the military enrollment dropping either! Sometimes it seems like being a Paragon ain't such a good thing...

If you are dismissive to Conrad's dream of being a Spectre he goes off to "prove himself" by starting a fight with a krogan in an elevator I think? Splat.ShallowLife8917 wrote...

If you blow him off again in ME2 he goes off again to prove himself and tries to jump from one moving car to another in a daring chase. Again, splat.

I think of it as fruit from a poison tree. The husk tech being reaper tech, after all. In fact, I have some theories about that and how it concerns Shepard that I hope to GOD don't hold water in ME3
