Ah, now  I have to share the romantic stories.

I met my husband as an undergraduate while we were in the honors program of our degree (so both nerds, obviously).  We barely spoke for nearly two years, but I was always kind of infatuated with him because he was so smart.  Later when we were both in the graduate program I finally got up the courage to make a move. It turns out he had been infatuated with me for the past 2 years too, but was too nervous to ask me out and wanted to keep things professional (we were working together at the time).  He wanted to take me out for dinner, but being the non-commital paranoid parrot that I am, I suggested a coffee date instead.  The coffee date ended up lasting 6 hours and we got married 2 years later.  Just goes to show that sometimes there are things and people worth waiting for (and worth breaking some rules for).

I think it's my time to depart this thread, I hope everyone enjoys the game, I just don't want it spoil it, as people are posting spoilers that I've tried hard to avoid.

May be wise decision since game went gold and now there is a constant risk of new leak and either troll or just hyper excited person posting something.

Good luck, and enjoy the game!

Lol, Hello and welcome ^_^

Can anyone help me out with a facecode situation?  I wanted to see how my first shep would look in the demo. I thought the face code was on the squad screen (for ME2) but I'm not seeing it.

@ Keala: That was me mentioning the audioblog...sorry! But, hey, bright side is you listened to Sbarge's sexy voice before going to bed, right? ;)

@ Ricvenart: I agree with all your points about Anderson. Hopefully there's more to the dialogue than what was shown in the demo. However, I'm still a little wary about Hackett. Throughout ME1, he sends you on all these "errands". And no matter how much you try to get out of it (shutting down a rogue VI or disarming a bomb, really?), Hackett keeps insisting that only Shepard can take care of it. Sometimes I feel like he's using Shepard as a scapegoat. If something goes wrong, it'll be easy to blame Shepard. I especially felt this during Arrival. He was like, "oh, it's okay, you did what you had to do", but then Shepard is the one being sent to the gallows, so to speak. Again, it makes me wonder if the ME3 intro is a lot longer than what we saw. I'd really like for Hackett to step it up and defend Shepard after all he/she has done for the Alliance.

@ Tilu: I'm a sucker for romance and happy endings so a wedding would be ideal. I think Casey Hudson mentioned a while back that the ME1 romances will be a sort of arc where it was implied that a wedding would be the final step in the relationship. Here's hoping! :)

On a side note, I'm at work and this took me like 45 minutes to write, lol. I apologize if someone posted before me and I repeated something.

EDIT: @ txmn: Cute story! It took a while for my husband to approach me, too, but when he finally did...well, let's just say we've been together ever since. :)

Also, love the title change! One of my favorite lines! :D

Oh, and welcome Tekeani! :D

I just think that was Bioware's way of pushing the story along  (and maximizing use of a VA "get" so to speak--- if you're a nerd like me, anyway). In LotSB, they hint of Hackett's character, and I gotta say I was actually touched by it. I think if you ignore the sidequests Hackett sends you on, certain things aren't quite as rich, like the line the Shep VI says when it has a glitch is from the renegade quest Hackett sends you on. He's just there to add flavor, not crunch.

I was gonna say something snarky, but no. Beautifully put.

Nope. Can't stop myself.
Doesn't saving all the people in Bringing Down the Sky cancel out Arrival, though?

I wouldn't say that.  But I think the original point of Arival was to give everyone time (which they obviously didn't make use of--not Shepards fault).

I'm just being snarky.

double post.

I accidently looked at the spoilers.... Meh. I hope its not true. Weddings aren't my idea of a "reward" or a "happy ending but if its done tastefully and not a saccharine love-vest, I'll accept that. Instead of a wedding as a happy ending my ideal would be that at the end (if Shep survives) she realizes that she's free and she can pretty much do anything she wants. Anything she imagines.

I'll share too ... My husband and I even went to the same elementary school (although he was a whole grade ahead and didn't talk to me) We both started running in middle school and a bunch of us hung out. It got to the point that he and I were always together, he even called my mother mom because she fed him, but we never even thought about dating. In fact, we dated other people all along. Fast forward, 7 years later, we were still best friends, he had broken up with a long term girlfriend. Out of the blue, he kisses me, then leaves the next day to go across country and plant trees for the summer.

In retrospect, him going away was probably a good thing, but it was a long confusing summer. :-)
That was 17 years ago, so I guess it worked out.

Good morning guys.

I'm not to worried about leaks I look at like my choices will define the outcome. So I will enjoy it either way.

Now for random silliness have you guys seen JamesNintendoNerd on YouTube? He is really funny.

Welcome Tekeani :)

Like Commodore Q I am tempted to hide til after I have played the game - I really don't want to have this spoiled for me and I already feel like I know too much. I'm really looking forward to getting that demo on my PC tomorrow and try to get some nice high rez snapshots... but then I may re-lurk for a while because it's only a matter of time before leaks and spoilers emerge here.

Same here. I know too much. I'll look at something that Bioware puts out--- it seems innocent. Combat tactics. Okay, that's not gonna leak something. And then I watch and its SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER. Bioware, I trusted you!

You can't not see spoilers everywhere. What  am I gonna do, turn off my internet?

....
hmm...
Edit: Nah.

Hey, remember when "Earth" was THE huge spoiler at the time? Back then, I thought. Okay, stopping. That's all I want to know. Gonna stay pristine and ignorant of any following spoilers. Now look what happened. My intentions were innocent. I wanted to know new Kaidan information. But that alone comes with dozens of unanticipated spoilers. Kaidan's in it, but he's promoted to SPOILER. He greets you at SPOILER. He  SPOILERs you when the SPOILER arrive at SPOILER and you part ways with SPOILER.

All of its old news now. But I wish I hadn't watched the things I watched.

If you're talking about "wedding in epilogue" part, that looks more like brainstorming for me. In fact, any after-Reapers scenario for Shepard and LI is speculation because epilogue is missing in leaked script... and romance parts look like they were thrown in blender with main plot, friendship dialogues and other romances as well.

i think i've just seen mr sbarge in ghost whisperer :o wasn't really paying attention, but the tv's on, wow, he's everywhere <3

as for spoilers, well, but we're all relatively safe here, right? :crying: i can trust that no one is going to write a shiny and glittery spoilery post that is impossible to miss and i don't have to leave yet, pleaaase? you're keeping me sane and please carry on

edit: well, my definition of spoiler from now on is anything more than already released official info + demo. a few (i guess ) pages ago someone has mentioned that there are people who have seen/recorded the rest of the game and are posting it in other threads. i'm just hoping to avoid it and want to make sure that my current sense of safety isn't illusive :P

So, that Mass Effect Deception, eh?
Jk. I wouldn't know if I was spreading a spoiler or not.  What's considered no longer a spoiler? The femshep reinstated trailer?  *shrug*

Will not make a promise on a shaky premise. But at least I'm in no position to get an early scoop and I always suspect early releases of things by users contain some sort of virus or trojan. ;)

I hope we stay spoiler free - this thread has become a happy place for me, I kinda like hanging out here with all you guys! I just fear the evil ones who would spoil things for us... I guess it couldn't be all that bad, I had the whole of 1 and 2 spoilered for me for the most part and I still love them, but just want this time to be as new and fresh as possible :)

Guys, just a quick request. I'd really like to continue to hang out in this thread, but I don't want to see any spoilers, leaked script or from the actual game. Marketing stuff is fair game (trailers and demo footage) but I've worked hard to stay away from the leaks. It's become really difficult, with me having to avert my eyes at the last second to avoid getting spoiled (like my brain just starts reading naturally). I'm pretty much going to try and stay here since as I said before, demo hacking and leaked game streams are going to cause the main board to be unreadable.

So let's just work hard to keep this thread spoiler free so all of us can continue hanging out here at the very least :)

@ dirae: Oh, I definitely agree that it's just to help the story move along. And, quite honestly, I enjoyed doing all those side quests. However, if this had been "real life", I think Shepard would be a little p.o.'d at having to do all that stuff for him, lol. My Shepard wants to trust him, but she's just so disenchanted at everything (and everyone) else that she would rather focus on the mission than trying to get everyone to trust in her again.

@ Nimrel: D'awww! I love how he just kissed you and left. *swoon* ;)

@ spoilers: Bioware's not good at keeping secrets (coughArchangelcough) so I'm sure sooner or later some of these forums will turn spoilers into "official" news. I don't mind spoilers, though. I've read some of the script, but to me it'll be an entirely different experience once I actually play the game. :)

As far as I'm aware there are no leaks. Everything people post here is just demo footage or pictures. I highly doubt anyone would post actual footage from the finished game if they could even find it.

@SoccerChic6

I'm the same, I can quite happily play a game. already knowing half of it. Spoilers dont bother me at all. I've watched countless movies and played countless games. Spoilers and big OMG moments don't have the same effect on me as it did years ago. If there was a spoiler showing how to get Kaidan in bed then I would happily watch it or read it, atleast then I know I won't get it wrong and he'd dump me lol

And for all we know convos and looks From Kaidan/Ash are simply from a brand new Shepard. Dialogue and passing glances could be very different from a romanced character. At this point all we have seen is what players new to the franchise will see.

Pretty much this ^
I want to keep track of of oficial news (Gamble said on Twitter that there's more announcements to come), and I always considered the Kaidan threads a safe place to hang around (since my lurker times at the ME2 forums), so if there are no leak spoilers around here, I could stay.
