no it comfirms that bioware was lazy when writing that scene, they just used romance dialoge becasue why would anyone save Kaidan if they didn't romance him, right?  if that's used in ME3, that's going to be one of those unintened artistic things, you end up using.  kinda like I end up using odd pieces of scrap silver to make new piece of jewelry, instead of just melting them down like i'd normaly would.

No matter what the intentions, it's canon that Kaidan says the same deep thing to ManShep as he does to FemShep who we know for sure he has some feelings for :police:

and its canon that Tali crushes on Shepard who treated her like dirt in ME1 AND Me2, as long as he does her loyalty mission and picks few key frases correctly.

doesn't make it good writing.  but i'm sure plenty of people would adore it anyways, becasue they headcanon everything, away or out of the way.

Well the thread is certainly on fire now.

Nononono, it was on fire somewhere around first pages. Now it's quite civil.

Sorry, but he did actually say that to my non romanced femShep

Anyone have a video link to this? For the fshep I mean.  I thought I'd picked all the dialogue options but I've never had him say this to me.  I always thought it was a great line between Kaidan and mshep.

I am intrigued as well = O Never got that. I actually found that line a lot more interesting than the plain "I loved you". Also tip-toeing around the three precious little words sounds very Kaidan-y to me = P

That's the problem of all LIs.

Most of my Sheps were nice to Tali. A couple were not so much. But that's not necessarily a deterrent in fiction OR real life. And in Tali's own words that's not what attracts him to her. It's the dramatic entrance where you save her from the setup as a "Dashing stranger". Her words not mine. "Daring quest to save the universe," stuff too. Shepard is written as charismatic, no matter what paragon or renegade level.

I beg to differ about that not being good writing. Even if its bad writing, its an example of realistic writing. I've known girls who crush on renegades in secret. Not even charismatic renegades, necessarily.

Got room for more? Honestly, the only thing that bothers me with Kaidan's relationships is that line he dropped about the doctor in his letter. If she turns out to be Chloe Michel, Shep will skin that traitor in ME3

If Kaidan turns out to swing both ways in March, I'll probably never know, as I have a hard time playing M!Shep. As long as BioWare can make the romance believable and not something they hastily thrown in to pander to the crowds... They tried that with DA2, it kinda blew up in their face. Write what you're comfortable with, BioWare. Try to phone it in and the fandom will tear into that crap like you wouldn't believe.

Seconded.

Although I think she's more into Garrus.  Either way, she'll be getting a cold greeting in ME3 if she shows up.  Stay off my turf, lady!

Makes me wonder if we'll ever find out who this doctor is. I really hope not. My Shep understands that Kaidan was trying to move on, but she still feels that little sting of jealousy just thinking about him with someone else. Let's just say it won't be a pretty sight if she ever meets this doctor...Image IPB

After reviewing some videos, I think you only get this if you did not romance Kaidan.  Doesn't matter if you're male or female.

he did say it to femshep.  he says it to romanced femshep as well, if you don't pick paragon option that results in "I loved you"  it was the reason i originaly replayed that stupid scion battle multiple times, becasue I read that he says I loved you in that conversation, and I didn't get it the first time, becasue "its been too long, Kaidan, how have you been"  sounded bad, while "you don't look happy to see me" actualy sounded reasonable

To a ManShep as well... He looses limbs a lot Image IPB. M.

Commodore Q - may your fish be flushed with honor! (I once had a real fish tank - they all died overnight without warning even though I fed them - moral to the story is, when fish decide to die, they just die)

Multiplayer is SO awesome - I ended up playing infiltrator, and wow the cloak is so useful! I was able to sneak around and do the electronic bits during waves while the others held off the Cerberus guys - fantastic!

Also, Kaidan is awesome.

I feel like it has no bearing on character, the sexual orientation thing.

If you are femshep, he was always interested in you from the beginning and as there is no maleshep in existence in that "universe" if you will, there's no change in direction for the character.

If it's a male Shepard, all of it could be explained in so many different ways as to why.

I don't believe in a canon here....there's only our own personal flavor (our own personal canon) to be considered. That's all.

This, a thousand times.  You ninja'd me, but I forgive you:lol:

Aw. I know this is all in good fun but I kinda like Dr. Michel. Its not like she'd have any way of knowing Shepard was with Kaidan. And even if she did know, Shep was long dead at that point. I think she's more into Garrus, too. Again, if shep romances Garrus, how would Michel know about any of that?

Her worst crime would perhaps be a private crush in both cases, which is understandable. I mean, this whole thread is kinda built on that, right?

And I think it was some other doctor. Kaidan would've mentioned it if it was her.B)

it turns her from a spunky independant girl into immature doormat.  it takes a character that normaly calls out Shepard on whatever bull Shepard throws at her and turns her into someone who thinks with her ovaries and goes for a jerk.  it makes her into a character, that i cannot like, cannot romance

Kaidan is supposed to be a mature individual who deals with his issues, who doesn't need fixing, who doesn't take **** from anyone, including Shepard.  turning him into Tali, will ruin his romance for me, regardless of sexual orientation, but with maleshep it will be even more jarring then femshep due to the fact that this individual who normaly cannot hide his feelings very well, somehow managed to hide them all through ME1.

if they write his romance as something thats fresh and new and based on fresh and new interactions on ME3 alone?  no issues.  but if they take his mild crush on femshep from ME1 (his feelings don't really develop fully untill right before Ilos anyways) and turn it into a full blown, Edwardlike crush on either Shepard?  good bye Kaidan romance.  but who cares what I like or don't like, right?  i don't matter and most people who feel similarly to me - prefer to stay quiet, becasue they see the backlash I end up dealing with and don't want to deal with same.

Back to normal it seems, so I wonder if ME3 will have the character stats like DA:O and DA2 have on the site.

I will sit with you, if you don't mind.

I'll add for my own part, I'm happy for those who were hoping for it to happen if it does...

I still love Kaidan. lol

lol about the doctor. I doubt it's her but it would make for good story. lol
I was even wondering who Lilith was, walking next to him on Horizon. haha

And IA on the rest. I don't play Male Shepard. While I think Mark Meer has gotten better in ME3 (so far. Verdict is out until full game is released of course) but I couldn't stand his monotone voice enough to complete a full playthrough. I had two, that never got to the end. I play FemShep, as I want and that enough, makes me happy. Image IPB

Oh believe me I was wondering who Lilith was too, especially the way they framed the scene with the camera, like it was secretly spying on them.  But as we know that turned out to be nothing.

Playing through the demo on maleshep was the first time I'd ever played as him.  I think he actually delivered some lines better than Hale, specifically the, "And your good word?" to Anderson and his, "Thanks" to Ashley, which sounded more like overwhelmed and tired rather than Hale's which sounded like, "Whatever."  That's the exception though.   I still plan on putting in several playthroughs of femshep and maybe when I exhaust that I might play as him.

whoever that doctor was, I'm thankful for her. because she symbolizes an attempt to start living again, to move on, to love again, to try and be happy again. its very Kaidan like to try and work out the issues instead of letting them fester in a sort of "forever alone" mire.
