It's finished! /fistpump! Started this after the last multiplayer session I had with Geirahod and Dstrawberry and just... finished. I can't believe it's 6am. >.> I'm going to go to sleep and dream of Kaidan and multiplayer and how he'll sneak into my game and we steam roll some cerberus guys. Happy, happy dreams....

Since I finished ME1 and knowing that ME2 would only have a cameo by Kaidan, I have been chomping at the the bit for ME3 to give me back Kaidan... And now that the demo was released I have serious knots in my stomach that won't go away!!!!!! And now I just found out I have to wait 3 days later than the US release! omg I wanted to throw something at the wall! He looks SO GOOD in the Demo!!!
Even though I am a faithful Kaidan fan... Vega is tempting as well..

Quick question, its something I have been wondering for a while. Do you think BioWare, EA, etc.. are starting to get the hint that there are an increasing number of women who play these types of games now? I know I still see hints of it still being male dominated... just curious what others thought? thx!

But I can understand the writing thing, it's not something that can be forced if the mood isn't there.  

Without going into spoiler territory what did you think of the demo?

I liked the first half of the demo, and seeing Kaidan obviously, lol.  I'm very meh about the shiny new combat mechanics, just seems like more of the same (I wasn't a big fan of ME2), although it was fun in both story and rpg mode to have my adept just punch the hell out of the Cerberus dudes rather than bother shooting them.  I'm probably not getting ME3 so it doesn't really matter anyway, lol.

Honestly, I don't, don't get me wrong, I hated that choice at the time and I wanted super Shep to save the day for everyone, but it just seems a little, well,  too much I guess.  

I loved Ash, she was my BFF but it created real indescision for me, I didn't find it overly dramatic, it was a plausible battlefield situation and in war difficult, sometimes unpleasant decisions have to be made, I thought it was well done and showed that Shepard wasn't a Superhero.

Of course just my opinion but I like ME1 the way it is

Really?!  You do suprise me, ME3 is a must, I have to see what happens between Kaidan and Shep, I know they'll prob crush me in the end but I can't resist and I like the way Kaidan looks in the demo, although I always did like the way he looked, lol! 

I certainly won't be playing Action mode but I like RPG mode and I do think the combat plays better, but then again I like my shooters so it's a nice mix of the two for me and I'm hopeful that there is a bit more of an RPG feel to it, at least that's what I've been picking up from some of the interviews.  I didn't play the second half, a bit too spoilery for me but I am gonna give the MP a whirl today.

*shrugs* Fair enough. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

I, like Leah, felt it was a fairly contrieved situation especially regarding that the Normandy was grounded and other squadmates could've just as well filled the position of Ashley and Kaidan on Virmire (e.g. Tali as the tech expert would've made sense to me, personally).

I think that the gaming industry would find it hard to ignore the number of women gamers playing these games, as far back as the production of DA we were bombarding the boards with our demands and you only have to look at how romance options have changed over the years.  When BG2 was released back in 1997 girls got one romance option where as the boys got two or three.  Now it's 50:50.  Also there are many more women Devs so there seems to be a bigger input from them too.  I suspect that it still semms male dominated because the majority of Devs are still men and lets face it they aren't so great at understanding women, very few men are

Well I'm not into shooters and that's the path ME2 was going down so I was reserving judement on ME3 till I read some spoilers.  I've spoiled myself silly and quite honestly I can't say that I'm impressed, as much as I'd like to see the completion of Shepard's and Kaidan's story.  There are certain things in the game that I consider deal breakers, but we'll see how I feel next month, I may need the distraction.

Re Virmire - I never had a problem with it, but then I'm not a big fan of Ashley either.  To me it seemed feasable that a squaddie would die at some point.

I like the fact that Shep isnt super woman.  Ash too was like a surrget Sister to My poor Earthborn shep. I must admitt though, Virmire was an easy choice at first. [ i did a rushed playthough] but then, I started to try and Really role play My shep and... that's when it became hard...
but still in one way' i'd be kinda pissed if you could rescue both of them.. then what would happen in ME2 if Both Ash and Kaidan Lived? Would the locker and night before Illos ever happen? 

did any of that make sense?

Which is something I have no problem with. I merely think that the way it was set up to be between Ashley and Kaidan was a bit heavy-handed.

Thank you! :3 I'm on the pc. I have a 360 but I don't have a wifi adapter(old 360 T_T) or extra cable to hook up to the modem.

 Just pre-ordered my CE of Mass Effect 3 (yeah, I left it late I know), but the whole ME universe is still new to me and I didn't start playing the first game till January this year 

Anyway am in the UK so was going to pre-order from Game but they have took the CE edition off their website - all pre-order numbers filled, not wanting to miss out on all the extra goodies and go for standard edition I  ordered  a DD copy via Origin, was cheaper than the Game price also - at least I don't have to sit and wait for the postman

Oh and i'm 32 (in March), single and the only males in my life currently are 11 & 14 four legged and furry... and one has severe arthitis & kidney failure.  ..I'll take my romance with Kaidan, Thane, and Garrus lol.

I can see what you mean, I guess to me, at least first time round, Kaidan and Ashley were the only squadmates I cared about, they had been literally everywhere with me.  If it had been anyone else I wouldn't have had to think, it would have been a case of 'Bah, let Garrus/Liara/Tali/Wrex die, I keep my Kaidan.'

Infact it forced me to play with the other characters, which is when I discovered how awesome Wrex was, I honestly don't think I'd have bothered with any of them if that choice had been omitted and I certainly wouldn't have replayed as a man.
