Of course it was ashley and not kaidan -.- And they pandered to the complainers and showed her in armor too. Why is it they complain and she gets out in altered but we complain and we still don't get any kaidan. :/

I think it has more to do with what Shepard they use in the trailers. For whatever reason Sheploo is the marketing face of the Mass Effect franchise and with that it seems Ashley becomes canon with him. Bugs the crap out of me because it feels like they are completely ignoring their female/femshep fanbase.

It was ok. I personally was disappointed by it. I like Ashley, but I'm really getting tired of seeing her face in all the ME3 promo videos.

Okay now I really want to see the trailer despite the (expected) lack of Kaidan.  Looks like I'll have to do the usual mentally replacing Maleshep with Femshep and Ashley with Kaidan like I did with the ME2 trailers.  I really don't think they're going to shift away from Maleshep as the main promotional face.  I was extremely surprised they even showed Kaidan standing behind him in the first promo pic that came out last year.  That being said, they had better make 2 separate launch trailers featuring each Shepard because I'm still waiting for more Femshep coverage like marketing promised.

I wasn't surprised, but it would have been a nice change of pace to see Kaidan with Male Shepard.

I'm still jealous of Ashley's hair, though. *grabby hands*

The trailer is on youtube now.

Anyway, I'm actually happy they featured Ash as opposed to, say, Liara/Garrus. I wasn't expecting Kaidan in the first place and Ash looks pretty badass.

Ack! I was so excited to see the trailer on tv, but I don't have the channel for it :pinched:

Do you think it will feature Shepard at all? Or just be a focus on the Reapers?

And for some reason that picture of Vega making the heart with his hands really warms me up to his character.

Agreed! I've been skeptical that I'd like him, but for some reason he's really starting to grow on me, I kind of see my femshep seeing him as a kid brother.

I'm guessing everyone here already knows this/seen this, but will post anyway just in case:

Besides Vega, Mass Effect: Homeworlds will have issues on Garrus, Tali and Liara. So we're snubbed on the Kaidan love again.

So, to help make this better, here's this! (posting the link to avoid page stretch):

I'm actually coming out of lurking and posting! wow! lol

I love this! thanks for sharing!

Well, you know..they feature sheploo, they gotta have his hot gf w/ him.

it's okay. i wasn't expecting..MOAR..Kaidan.

The game will be here soon. Then we can have our Kaidan better than any snippet of trailer.

This is probably a very bad version and I'm sure that in a little while they will have posted the better one but for those who don't want to wait...

(I love their reaction)

I know, right?  I'm so upset none of my femsheps get her cool hair.  And I'm upset that none of my brosheps get long hair either.

ughh I know! I despise the hairs, atleast the one's in the demo.
Is the cc in the demo the finished version?

god i hopeee not! Besides the hair, my femshep's face also looks a bit off in it.

^This Garrus and Liara make up 90% of the marketing, they have both been done to death

Agreed.  Liara/Garrus would have no place in a "take earth back" trailer, as they're not from Earth.  Glad they went with Ashley.

Remember the primary marketing target for gaming: 14-30 year-old males.  Showing a buff hardcore guy like Sheploo with another buff hot guy like Kaidan wouldn't sell to that demographic.  Showing buff hardcore guy like Sheploo with hottie girlfriend Ashley will.  Yeah it's a skewed viewpoint, but one people acknowledge at least (i.e. anyone who doesn't think the 14-30 male is the primary target demographic for gaming is not paying attention).  To balance things out, and try to go beyond stereotype, they should do more with FemShep.  They should be playing FemShep up way more imo, but that's far too OT for a Kaidan thread.

Here is a youtube for the trailer:

Just saw the high-quality version of it on Kotaku.  It was all right.  I mean the trailer screams that it's going to be an epic game but CGI trailers for games never really do much for me because they always lack that personal story aspect with in-game trailers.  But Ashley does look good.

I'm getting the theme that kids playing with little toy spaceships is a really bad idea.

I actually just finished playing so mp, and I have to admit it's pretty challenging.
Although I have to say I'm not the the best mp person everr, but still I think it was def. hard especially if your teammates aren't co ordinating with you. <_<

Yep. I think once video game companies start marketing toward people outside of the 14-30 male demographic we'll see more characters like Kaidan in trailers. If I recall correctly, the trailers for Dragon Age: Origins had very little Alistair (and he is, in my opinion at least, vital to the storyline) as did Dragon Age II with Anders, who is also a huge part of the storyline. While I don't think Kaidan has that sort of weight in Mass Effect, he's not going to get marketing until they market FemShep more and thus cater to more than just the 14-30 male demographic.

Still though, ME3 is so close. I know I'm going to get Kaidan in a little over two weeks, so it's not so bad.
