I am seriously SO EXCITED.
I'm pretty sure I'm obsessing over the release of the game mostly because I can't wait to see my FemShep interact with Kaidan again. Squeeeee, it's so exciting

Surely they won't have a possible 100% 'happy ending' this time like in ME2?
Even if Shepard does everything right, it's a devestating war and there are going to be casualties. Despite the heartbreak I'd like the happiest ending to be a sort of bittersweet solution. It seems more realisic that way.
But I want a fairytale happy ending with Kaidan haha. I'm hypocritical that way ^_~
Liara's garuenteed survival must mean she's important at some point of ME3. I suppose she alone is an integral part of the plot. I'm sure she'll be killable at some point though.
People are going to sh*t a brick if she isn't

I agree! I introduced a friend to Mass Effect and I can't wait to see her reaction to virmire - she likes both Ash and Kaidan. But she's taking aaaagess.... She started weeks ago and she's still only on the third of the first three planets. It only takes me a day or two to play through the first game now, she's taking so longggg

It wouldn't even be a hard choice for most. The only situation that would devestate me is if I had to choose between Kaidan and Joker. That would be a nightmare...... halp

now you got me thinking... well my subconscious reaction is to save kaidan no matter what as well and let the reapers eat babies and kittens, but... uh, what if they make us decide between him and hackett or anderson? 
damn, this is prob the worst thing i can think of, i'd sacrifice every other squaddie without a second thought but but...
god i hope they're not THAT cruel or i may actually slam my computer and never touch the game again >_>

I hope they wouldn't do that, but I'd still save Kaidan.

Anyway, I have a feeling Anderson is going to die anyway. He's like Shepard's mentor in my opinion. In a lot of story arcs, the mentor must die before the hero is able to move on and save the day. Errr, I at least think that's how it goes. Even if it's not, I still expect Anderson to die.  I'm pessimistic but I can't see him being alive for the end of it...

 I recently converted my firend to be a Shenko lover. 

while she doesn't have the game I told her about Mass effect and gave her a run down of the game. that plus Mr Sbarge's reading of the letter and some of my fan fics [ she's a writer, so we share storys alot] sealed her conversion... that and i pointed out how creepy Liara is...


EDIT:  Anderson...maybe...he is the first person i your party and knowing bioware's tredtion of killing at lest one personn in your first party....
but i also have a baaaad feeling something is going to happen to Mordin..

Well yes, sadly i expect him to die too, but it would be an entirely different drama if Shepard was directly responsible for his death due to chosing a person she loves instead, i can just picture Anderson's understanding look and Shep hating herself and feeling guilty forever....

So how do you guys think this will all pan out? I know how I want it to go, but that is precisely what worries me. I want the happily ever after with Kaidan. I want most if not all of my squadies to live, I expect to lose alot people and aliens during this epic final trilogy....but man, I just want to know we take the Reapers out and we start to rebuild....with Kaidan by my side. My biggest fear - it will come down to some sort of self sacrifice situation and Kaidan goes back to the doctor.....

What is your guys thoughts?

I expect Anderson to die too. The combination of being Shepards mention AND the first in your party... well... that's pretty much a death sentence. 
I have a feeling that there will be some terrible situation involving your LI at some point. Like they'll specifically put your LI in danger and you'll be forced to choose something.I hope it isn't Anderson! Though I'd still choose Kaidan.
Oh my god.... what if it's something like half the squaddies are on the citadel, half on the ship, both come under danger and you have to choose who to save.Okay it doesn't sound likely but my imagination is going crazy with worry. 

EDIT: Self-sacrifice is my biggest worry. They emphasised the *end* of Shepards story so much I'm terrified it's inevitable. Bioware always seem to make their protagonists 'disappear' at the end of their campaign. Especially in DA. For no freaking reason!

Honestly after the first playthrough I think I'll just metagame the hell out and read every spoiler necessary to get the perfect ending I want. Which might not be the perfect ending the game assumes. I have 2-3 ME2 saves ready to import, and 1 that is left unfinished, but close to the end, just in case I need to change something.

As for the hate in the forums, the trollz and the flames, I think I have seen the worst happen with Anders in DA2. So really, I'm well prepared and I think nothing will surprise me at this point. Kaidan coulnd't possibly get more hate.
In that period we had our happy crazy place in Anders' Thread, andventures in the general or companin boards were dangerous. I'm willing to bet I will be more than perfectly fine in here 
To be honest I can already predict that there will be tons of hate threads popping around, that just happens but soon or later they will tire xD

I am not expecting a sunny happy ending no matter what happens. I really believe for Shepard to be with Kaidan is going to require a rather large sacrifice, much like what happened on Virmire. I'd like to be surprised, but in my gut I feel a storm brewing.  If such a thing comes to pass, I wonder if Kaidan will be able to forgive Shepard or himself as easily as he did in the first game...

I'm afraid they'll make you pick and choose between races whose homeworlds get decimated and if you don't choose humanity, they'll try to make you feel guilty. I've already decided though that I'm likely putting the Asari on the block if comes down to it. From my rational perspective, they seem to be the race that can best handle being decimated.

1. They live a long, long time with a long, long time of being fertile.
2. They seem to have the most planets that are extremely well-developed making it most likely that the Reapers will miss one or two; plus the Asari seem most widespread of the races.
3. Since Asari can pretty much breed with any other race, they can handle being knocked to very low numbers better than other races could and conceivably recover their numbers.

I'd have put the Krogan and the Rachni in the same category with the Asari, but prior galactic shenanigans perpetrated in part by the Asari have conspired to remove them from contention.

The Turians, Salarians, and Humans are all less able to take massive hits to their homeworlds and racial populations and recover. Anyone who follows this reasoning would also see that this would put those with Liara as a LI in a bit of a bind now, wouldn't it?

I'm expeting a lot of Losses  Some mostlike envabitle [ like thane...i don't see him surviveing the reaper war] and some..not so expect . I hopeing my shep will beable to settle with Kaidan. but if it does come down to shep scarficeing her self... well.. i hope they let us say goodbye to our squaidies and LIs in a fitting way.

Because I will let Earth burn if I have to to save Kaidan.  I'm sure it'll be heart rending no matter what (but I will chose the Dark Ritual ever single time, so maybe don't listen to me) because BW loves to make you make tough decisions.  I will metagame the sh-- out of ME3 to get the most amazing ending possible for Shepard and Kaidan.
