Since we're sharing books and authors - One I've really enjoyed lately is E.E. Knight. He's done two series that I really like. The one ya'll might like better is the Dragon Fate series. It's written about a family of dragons, three siblings specifically, and the first three books are their individual stories of growing to adulthood and the last three books take off from there. I think Dragon Champion is the first one. It's a different take on standard fantasy. The other set is The Vampire Earth series. It's a little more maculine and lot more gritty, but if you like the hard choices in ME, then you might like these.

Anyhoo, off to put Joe the Adept through his paces a few times on PC,

Actually, I might argue it's quite possible. He is an L2, and is known to spike higher than most L3s. PLUS, the whole aspect that he would do anything for Shep. If she was in danger, he could do it.

 Wait a second. I'm pretty sure Miranda could hold the field. Jack could only do it if you did the L5 amp upgrade. And if loyal but that holds for all of them. And I think Kaidan could have. Don't L2 spike higher than most L3? I might be wrong on this.

He would have done better than Miranda because of his feelings for Shep, but I don't think he would have been able to do it. I don't think even biotic Sheps could have done it and Kaidan acknowledges that she maybe has more oomph than he does if she's biotic.

Jack's jsut a freak and Samara is ... well, Samara.

and it is.... thank goodness lol.... i've been having the worst ME luck with the pc since sunday...hoping it'll get fixed on friday.

Origin syncs to a central server, so if you have lots of machines lying around (I seem to collect them) you can install on a second PC (same as Steam) and retain all your progress (on MP at least, that much I could test). I needed it on my laptop in case I needed to travel in March, had to test it out... had to uninstall a bunch of work stuff to make room... stupid fast ssd drives with not enough storage space! But, it works!

Awesome MP sessions earlier - Level 10 on silver and we got Atlas'd and phantom'd but next time, oh yes...

going back to ME2 for an hour while I look after some servers for some Aussies, it's late, and my ME2 playthrough is up to almost Horizon time... grumpy Kaidan, but Kaidan at least

 it was glorious   ..damn  sneaky hand shooting indocrinated mech saber heifers  ( i do mean the phantoms... and why do they have a pistol when they can shoot you with their hands?)

I double checked the wiki on that.  It has to be Samara/Morinth or Jack, otherwise a team member gets carried off by the swarms.  That said, Kaidan has always been exceptional, what with the biotic kick of death and all, so I'm willing to entertain that it's in the real of plausibility.

Jack doesn't need the upgrade to be able to hold it, she just needs to be loyal.

And Miranda can't, regardless.

It doesn't matter if Jack can hold it or not. I always use Samara. My Sheps view Jack as too much of a loose cannon to be reliable.

It's like my Sheps pretty much always tend to send Legion through the vents. It's not because they don't think Tali can do it; they just prefer to risk Legion ov er risking Tali.

(Although I do think I did use her once just to see how it went, and she can indeed hold.)

I'd hazard a guess that Kaidan might be able to hold the field. He's not as strong as Jack but I'd wager he's one of the strongest human biotics since he has the L2 implants... But ehhh. It's debatable, I could see it going either way.

Ok so this is my argument. I don't think ME1 Kaidan could do it but I think ME3 Kaidan could. By the time ME3 rolls around Kaidan has had three more years to perfect his skills. Also, his character description says that he trains the brightest and best biotics in the academy. I would think to be a good teacher, you would need to be better than your students. While he is a sentinel, biotics are essential to him and as others said he's an L2 which causes him to spike higher than other biotics. I'm not totally sure but I think Major Alenko could do it.

Chiming in, also Kaidan is not just a biotic.

If I were going to classify Samara and Jack, they'd be pure biotic, Adept.

Kaidan's part biotic and part tech, Sentinel -- so that (holding the field) wouldn't be his "bag", so to speak.

With the SM the key was to look for the hints dropped through the game. We get to see Jack use her biotics to rip through four YMIR mechs and everyone keeps mentioning that she's the strongest human biotic. Samara is an asari which gives her some free points to the biotics department and we also see her use her biotics in a couple of brilliant displays both when we meet her and on her loyalty mission. I think Kaidan would have been able to do it in meta because of how important biotics are to his backstory. With all of your other ME2 squadmates (those who couldn't hold the barrier) they may -be- biotics but the biotics weren't a heavy part of their history.

You don't necessarily have to be better/stronger than your students. You just have to know more about what you're doing in terms of technique and theory.

I'm jealous of you ladies who can make a pretty femshep. My femsheps always turn out like crap and I give up and play with her anyway. Then I see hot companions like Miranda and Ashley and get mad all over again that my femshep isn't as pretty or prettier.

And I don't like the default femshep for ME3, she looks too much like a streetwalker for my tastes.

This is what i used to make my FemShep! Youtube! I used this video but tweaked her! I think shes amazingly gorgeous myself! the only pictures i have of my Femshep are with my cell though and i dont know her code so i cant check out what she will look like in ME3.. Anyone know how to get the face code on Xbox?

I love Kaidan, but I don't see him holding the barrier. He's not a "pure" biotic and what happens if a migraine comes up at an inopportune time? I'd rather not have my favorite L2 die of an aneurysm.

Sorry to hear  I've never been there, as far as I know. And I never cheated on anyone IRL and I'll never do. 
I suppose is for that that I did it with Kaidan, don't know. But know I'm feeling bad for it

I wouldnt say its cheating, after all he did go on a date.. and when you did see him on Horizon he wasnt very reassuring about the whole relationship. Im sure he will understand, he knew he handled that badly.

The logical part of my brain agrees with you. But my mushy (albeit dirty) brain part thinks the power of wuvvvv will make Kaidan strong enough to hold a biotic field. 

Btw, to those who read the fanfic Manipulations, when do the events in the story occur? Did Shepard destroy Terminat--err human reaper yet? Or is this set directly after the dreaded H(orizon)?

EDIT:  Oh Noes ToP. Someone post some Kaidan smexiness!! I'm on my iPhone!
