Well as someone who married her best friend I can understand the draw of Garrus. There can be alot more intimacy with a close friend than with someone who is a lover. Besides at the point in the series Garrus has proven to be more loyal than Kaid.

Still love Kaidan though cause guys can be pouty buttheads and still be cute

OHHHH GUYS!! Have you seen the box opening of ME3! You can actually make the cover Femshep instead of male shep! Check it out!!!

Is this how it works for the Collector's Edition?

That's really cool! They should do that with all their games where you can play as a female. And it makes me want to play as the default FemShep...

I didn't think any of the the so called romances available to femShep in ME2 were a patch on Kaidan's one. To me they were stress relieving booty calls rather than romances, and I found them incredibly cheesy and/or sleazy. (I know not everyone thinks that and it's not meant to offend, it's just how they came across to me)

This is where I differ.  Maybe it's just my warped view of things, lol.  I don't see it as loyalty, I see it more as hero worship that they follow Shepard blindly regardless of his/her affiliations, it's like they aren't capable of thinking for themselves and need Shepard to tell them what to do.  At least Kaidan stayed true to his morals and principles regardless of how he feels about Shepard.

Is it just me or were all the male romance options in ME2 surprised that Shepard was flirting with them?

They go from Image IPB to Image IPB to Image IPB.  They all start off kind of like, "Oh...uh...yeah, sorry Shep...I, uh...I didn't know you had those kind of feelings for me" and then as Shep keeps pushing it, they eventually accept it, lol.

I romance Garrus with one of my FemShep just to see the consecuences in ME3, but all the time I was romancing him I feel awkward, seeing my Shep seducing Garrus was a little weird for me and I feel like Garrus only love Shep as is girlfriend just because she have done the first step and she wants that, like he's doing it because Shepard say so. Well it's my opinion, but I prefere Garrus as my friend, my bro'.(I don't not if I'm clear, english is not my first language so...^^)

Garrus? He's my bro. We're bros. We bro out even though I play femshep. We do bro things together, like taking down saren and destroying a human reaper. Hell I even made him go help me find Mordin even though there was a disease there. It was like "TOUGH IT OUT, pansy IT'S BRO TIME!" And then I imagine them jumping in the air and high-fiving.

It'd be like yeah, incest x.x toooooo weird. Kaidan is the romance, Garrus is the bro who'd steal something from miranda with me and give it to Grunt saying she likes him.

Lol! This made me think of Anchorman for some reason.

Anyway, yeah, I see Garrus as a bro to my Shep. I picture him having "the talk" with Kaidan ("If you hurt her again, I'll kick your ass").  He's a little bit of a comic relief for me. I actually like his quips and stuff, and I can totally imagine my Shep just having a great, fun time with him.

I've romanced all the male interests in ME2 and I thought they were all special. I liked Garrus' romance, but found myself wishing I did his first and Jacob's last because Jacob's romance really set the bar for ME2. I had waaaay more lines with him in romance mode and more ways to show affection (kiss, hug, hand-holding, etc). Garrus' romance felt brief in comparison. After the suicide mission, Garrus was still stuck in the default line of "yeah, I want to try being with you [before the suicide mission]" while Shepard was already able to approach Jacob and ask "How are you, lover?" after the SM. See what I mean? They were all good though. Just different writers with different energy levels. =p

I absolutely love Kaidan's romance for the overall tension it brings, the "will they/won't they [get back together]" story arc. Kind of like "The Notebook" where the two lovers had to go their separate ways for reasons of their own and then that big moment years later when it was now or never. Good drama is good drama. =p

I also see Garrus as brother. my shep protects him like a little brother, who makes mistakes.

I feel the same way. It's kind of funny how that worked because my canon Shep is the third one I made and was meant to stay single in ME1 so she could romance Garrus. My first two playthroughs were a mess as I tried to get a feel for the universe and the shooting, it was my first sci fi game ever and the first shooter of any kind in four years. In both I romanced Kaidan just because he was there but I was completely unimpressed by him and thought his hair bump was silly.

I thought Garrus was the cutest thing ever and decided he was going to be my canon's romance, but when I actually started playing her I found myself flirting with Kaidan. I couldn't help it, I realized I actually wanted her to romance Kaidan and now I can't see her even flirting with the other options. I have an unfaithful Shepard and even with her I couldn't romance Garrus because he is just too much like a little brother to me.

And  unrelated, I've been flailing around all evening because I'm finishing up my ME2 run with my singleShep and she managed to get Kasumi and Garrus killed in the suicide mission. It's the first time I have lost any squadmembers and it sucks.  :crying::crying::crying:

And just to be clear: I didn't kill them off on purpose, I went in blind and that's just what happened with the choices that that particular Shepard made. I'm not happy about it but I'm the type that will take the crappy ending if  the choices that caused it fit my character's personality.:crying: And I'm not bashing Garrus or his romance, I really do LOVE Garrus just not romantically but as a best friend/little brother/partner in crime. Other people do see him as a romantic interest and I hope their Shep's get their happy ending with him.

No! No bashing, I swear! Image IPB

I love his romance...he's so adorable, the way he acts around Shepard. Image IPB  But my Shep sees him more as a friend. She only has eyes for Kaidan Image IPB. I think, in the future, I'll create a Shep for each LI just to experience them all. Image IPB

If anyone is sincerely interested in why Garrus is such a popular LI--I'd recommend this.  It's got a lot to do with trust--a value that is arguably inextricable from love, and one that Kaidan didn't exhibit in ME2.  Let me be clear, I'm definitely not bashing Kaidan for that.  I'm just trying to explain why Garrus is so popular with the ladies (besides the obvious sexy voice).

So who's boycotting ME3? haha I sure as hell am not. I don't get how it's such a big deal, especially how the said DLC was exclusive to the N7 edition to begin with, bioware do the fans a favor and this happens. In fact I'll be annoyed if EA/Bioware give in to the demands of the few and give it away for free... if they did that then what exactly is the point of the N7 edition...

noob question....I just finished another ME playthrough (up to 100 hours of in-game with my canon shep Kate) - and moved onto ME2....while I wait. I've done many playthroughs in the first game but never in the second game (I was too mad about being with Cerberus)...so I thought I'd try to reload in Kate for a second playthrough...but when I selected import from ME2 and selected her name, it took me to my game saves...more like I was loading a current save than importing her for a new game. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks guys, maybe I'll try to snap a pic of my femshep tonight on my cell ;-)

Select the save with the highest level I think.

Well I'm still undecided and leaning towards not getting ME3, but it has nothing to do with dlc.  It's more to do with my overall disappointment with Bioware and several story lines and characterisations.

As a person who usually lurks and does her agreeing/diagreeing/ROFLing in private, I don't see any Garrus bashing here.  I like Garrus, he's good people.  I find him adorably cute, it's just that for some people, he just doesn't set off their romance vibe.  It's opinion, I've seen HORRIBLE bashing and trust me everyone has been so nice here..and disagreements are usually solved within a page or 10 lol.  I wish people would just be more AWARE that this is the internet, it's very easy to distort/confuse things..misconceptions and all that crappy stuff and that jumping down someone's throat is not always the first answer.. :?

Bwahaha I have no self-discipline when it comes to games, the only thing that would deter me from buying ME3 is the apocalypse or GOD FORBID there's a leak about some abysmal plot regarding my smexy Kaidan.  And even then I'll prolly still play it!:D

Edit: Crappy iphone format

If Shepard calls off the relationship with Garrus in the second romance dialogue he seems relieved to be back in "bro territory."

Garrus: If we want to share an intimate moment we can blow something up... again.

Yeah, I will probably rent it at Redbox for a few days first and see how I feel. I haven't read any of the spoilers for storylines or anything, but I am irritated with BW's marketing/promotions/etc. of years late. Everything just seems like a ploy to take more of my money, the little that I have. $60 is a lot of money for me, especailly something I might only used for a few hours. I know they can't please everyone but they seem to be moving in the direction I will choose not to follow them in. But Kaidan forever:wub:
